Story
Meet our beautiful Willow with her wonky ears! Like her namesake, the tree, this little 8 month old 30 pound girl is adaptable and will bend but due to her strong root system she will not break. She was confiscated for neglect along with her siblings but she may be one of the most loving and happy girls we have had and has moved forward never looking back! The vet's best guess, for our fun little Willow is  a Boxer/Lab mix but it matters not as whatever she is she will melt you heart and bring you smile after smile.  She loves all dogs of all sizes and ages and is submissive so can blend in with anyone.  She is also living with a cat in her foster home and does fine but as always we advise to go slow with this and use caution to start. This happy wiggle butt is a bit on the medium to higher energy side but she also knows how to match another dog's energy level.  Once done playing , Willow will want nothing more than to get snuggle time!  Get ready for some kisses and cuddles!  Willow's ideal home would be with a yard  that is fenced in and would have another dog for a playmate. She also dreams of having her own basket of toys, bones and any kind of chew toy plus maybe a child of her own. Truly anything makes this little doll happy and she seems to show so much love you will want to make her dreams come true.  She is still learning to not jump so careful with younger children!   Crate training and potty training are two things Willow is hard at work on while in foster and she's doing great on both.  She is a smart girl that easily mastered a doggy door and stairs that she came in scared of. Walks are one of her favorite activities and she is doing so well in such a short time on leash!  So if you are looking for a fun, joyful little girl that will give you her whole heart Willow is the puppy for you! Story
Meet our Star, a 5 year old brindle beauty that came into rescue through no fault of her own due to needed medical. She weighs around 65 pounds and our best guess is she is a mix of Boxer and Terrier. Star has been around people of all ages and lived with children and absolutely LOVES everyone!  This princess was an owned dog, but after a divorce the family was unable to care for her medical needs so she came to us with big needs which we have been tackling for the last few months.  This poor girl was emaciated, her skin was a mass of infection with bloody sores, patches of hair loss, extreme swelling to skin and nails curled under to point she could hardly walk. She scratched non-stop and was heartbreakingly miserable! We immediately got her into the vet where she required multiple medicines and medicated baths to get rid of her massive skin infections and we put her on a special food. As she slowly recovered from this neglect, her bright, joyful personality began to emerge....she loves people, affection, squeaky toys, food, treats and most of all, BALLS!  As Star's skin has slowly healed, life has become amazing for her! To continue the healing we next changed her food from chicken to fish, including all treats, plus we did an allergy shot. When dealing with allergies, it's hard to tell whether it's food or environmental so we made changes to both and are happy to report her fur is finally healthy and has filled in, she has gained weight and is such a happy girl now! Any adopters need to be aware she may need ongoing allergy shots and no chicken products in her food! Star is not only gorgeous but so very smart and knows several commands. She is also potty and crate trained which is always a bonus. In her previous life, she lived alone for at least 4 years with no dog socialization, so she is having to learn how to share toys, food, etc with other dogs. It may end up that she will do best as the only Queen in her Forever Home. But no worries with this big of a love you won't need another dog! Star will keep you busy playing endless fetch, getting and giving kisses and affection, going on her beloved car rides and being your main squeeze with snuggles! To apply for Star, please apply at www.HavenAnimalRescueNebraska.org  ADOPTION DONATION: $325  *Please note her final photo is at the beginning of her journey with us! Raya was born Dec. 2022. She has a lot of energy and will need someone willing to put time and effort into training her and making sure she gets plenty of exercise. She is food motivated and loves to make her humans happy. Overall, Raya has a sweet personality and is ready to find her forever home! The suggested adoption fee for Raya is $365. Story
She lives with another dog and cat. We have babysat other dogs and she was good with them. However aggressive toward any dog at dog park or on walks. Has fearful interactions with young kids or animals she doesn’t know and this scares me because I have not been able to help train her out of this tendency to be aggressive. She has backed down with my voice and commands but is not a dog I can trust because of her actions
