Story
Pinky was rescued around 6 years ago by us and she is absolutely wonderful to be around. She’s affectionate and loving and does wonderful around children and people. So much so my children have climbed on and rode her like a pony. The only reason we need to rehome her is because our currently living situation has changed and she does NOT do well around other animals and for that we unfortunately have to get rid of her.

Story
Hey there, I’m Bennie. Yep, that handsome guy with the soulful eyes and the sturdy boxer build. I’m a 4-year-old Boxer mix, about 42 pounds of solid good-boy energy, and I’m neutered, so no funny business here. I came to Happy Bark after landing in a Kentucky shelter as a stray, which means my past is a little mysterious. What I do know is that I’m very ready for my next chapter, and I’m hoping it’s with you. I’ve got that classic boxer charm: a little goofy, a little serious-looking, and 100 percent loyal. I really like other dogs and do great making canine friends. Got a dog already? Awesome, I’d probably love to meet them. Cats though? Yeah… those aren’t my thing, so I’m looking for a cat-free home where I can relax and not worry about those sneaky whiskered creatures. I’m a nice medium size, not too big, not too small, just right for couch cuddles, backyard adventures, and tagging along on daily walks. I’ve passed all my tests here, and the humans say I’m a good, solid dog who just needs a family to call his own. If you’re looking for a loyal buddy with a sweet face, a wagging tail, and a heart that’s ready to belong, I might just be your guy. Come meet me. I’ll be waiting, probably watching the gate, hoping today’s the day I go home. Bennie's adoption fee is $275. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Minnie – Over a YEAR of Love, Growth, and Cuddles! Hi there, I’m Minnie! It’s been over a year since my foster parents found me—lost, lonely, and hungry on the streets of Buffalo. Since then, I’ve come a long way, and they’ve learned so much about who I truly am: a snuggly, kissy, happy girl with a big heart and an even bigger zest for life! &#226&#156&#168 Here’s what they’ve discovered about me: I’m full of energy and joy but also the best napping buddy. I love to curl up and relax with my people. I didn’t even know what kibble was at first, but now I enjoy my meals and snacks—especially veggies, pumpkin, apples, and tasty treats! I’m potty trained! It took a little time, but I’ve nailed it now. I love walks, playing with my flirt pole, doing puzzles for treats, and working on training. I’ve even completed a 7-week training course to help me feel more confident around other dogs! I know lots of commands like sit, come inside, leave it, crate, come up, lay down, and find my bone. I might need an occasional reminder, but I’m eager to please. I’m a sweetheart when my humans are feeling down—nothing a cuddle and a gentle kiss can’t fix. I patiently sit for veggie snacks while my foster mom cooks and never sneak food from the counter! I get along well with my foster sister, but I’d really thrive as the only pet in the home where I can be your one and only. ♥&#239&#184&#143 If I could ask for just one thing from my future forever family, it would be patience. My past may be unknown, but I do know I wasn’t truly loved—until now. I’m ready to give you all the affection, loyalty, and joy I have to offer. If you think we’re meant to be, apply to meet me at BuffaloCares.org. I’ll be waiting with open paws and a wagging tail! Story
Hello all, I am looking for a good home for my sweet dog Nala. I am moving to the other side of the country for grad school and I wasn’t able to find housing that would allow me to bring her in time. Nala is 4 years old. She is pitt lab mix and about 60 pounds. I’ve had her all her life. She is energetic, sweet and cuddly. She is spayed and very well trained. She knows sit, stay, lay down, come here, speak, shake, off, down, up, and heel. She is crate trained and food motivated. She is up to date on all of her shots and vacs. Nala loves children, wading in water and taking naps. It would be a great help for her and me if I can find a good home for her.

Story
This handsome pup is Walter. He is a mixed breed who is approximately 9months old. Walter is a bit shy but does warm up quickly and his playful, energetic personality shines through. Walter did not get a lot of socialization as a young puppy, so many things are new to him. We are looking for a home that may have another well behaved dog for Walter to pal around with. Walter would also enjoy some older kids to play with. He loves playing in the LHS yard with the other dogs so a fenced yard would be a plus. He does need work on leash walking and learning basic commands. Please make sure you have the time, energy and patience to dedicate to him. If you would like to meet Walter, stop in during open hours Wednesdays 6-8pm and Saturdays 12-3pm. You may also fill out our online application.https://www.lakeshorehumanesociety.org/online-adoption-form
