Story
Storm is a 4 year old boxer. She loves to play catch and to snuggle. She and my older female boxer have not been getting along. I’ve been having to keep them separated. This only happens when I’m around them without my husband. I think it might be a territorial thing with them for me. She has been great with my grandchildren and other kids. This just started a few months ago and the 2 females go at each other.

Story
Senior sweetness alert: Otis is here, and he is pure love. This big, handsome gentleman is not looking to be your jogging partner. Otis’s dream life is much better than that: a soft couch, a cozy spot in the grass, plenty of belly rubs, and as much cuddling as you’re willing to provide.Otis is the definition of a gentle soul. He’s sweet, humble, and incredibly brave, having come through obvious neglect without losing his loving heart. He could not be sweeter if he tried. At the shelter, Otis’s perfect outing is simple: head outside, take care of business, and then settle in on the front lawn with his people to relax. He’s happy to sit by your side, soak up affection, and quietly watch the world go by — people, cars, dogs, all of it.If you’ve been looking for a low-key best friend, a professional cuddle buddy, and a truly special senior dog to love, Otis may be your guy. You can begin the adoption process for him right now by filling out an application on our website, www.humanecny.org; or email info@humanecny.org; or call us at (315) 457-8762.Contact HumaneCNY if interested in this animal. You can fill out application to adopt at the shelter.

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Teeka, a 1 year 7 month old spayed female, Boxer mix, 42lbs. She is in a foster home in Houston, TX and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! The amazing Teeka is on the hunt for her forever home. She specializes in best friending with an emphasis on playing! She currently lives with several larger dogs and is learning to respect their boundaries. She LOVES to play with them, but does need some help realizing when her foster siblings are ready to stop. She has not met any cats, so we’re not sure how she’d react to a feline sibling. Her foster mom says she’s done well meeting new human friends and is learning not to jump on them. Because of this and her high energy levels, we do recommend a home with older dog savvy kids. This smartie is house and crate trained! She sleeps quietly in her crate and is kenneled whenever her foster family is out of the house. We don’t recommend leaving her out unsupervised as she may help herself to whatever she finds in the kitchen. Teeka’s love for food is next level and she will try to sneak a bite from you or the other dog’s bowls, but has shown no signs of resource guarding. She is still working on her leash manners, but is getting better every day! She gets a little too excited when she sees other dogs, but is learning to calm down and continue on her walk. This happy girl absolutely loves toys! She knows where the toy basket is and will get one so you can join in the fun. She’s a huge fan of fetch and tug of war! Teeka is learning the joys of relaxing too. She loves to lay on your legs and get some pets and give some kisses. She’s happy just to be near her humans. Teeka is a young pup with boundless energy that will thrive in a home with a yard, daily exercise, training and patience. She’s a goofy, happy, loving girl and with just one look into those pretty doe eyes, your heart will melt! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? Story
Lucy is just the cutest white boxer mix. Most of us mistake her for a puppy with her youthful looks but we think she’s about 5 years old. She enjoys her time in the play yard and sniffaris on a walk. She knows ‘sit’ and takes treats gently. She’s ready to blossom in a forever home that showers her with patience and love! Lucy has done well with male dogs but not so well with females and small dogs.

Story
Meet Bailey! Bailey is a 6-year-old Boxer/Pointer mix with a young-at-heart spirit and plenty of pep in her step! Don't let her age fool you—this girl still loves to zoom around the yard, stretch her legs, and enjoy every day to the fullest. Bailey has lived with children and enjoys being part of the family. She would love a home where she can spend time with her people, soak up attention, and have space to play and explore. After a fun romp outside, she's happy to settle in and relax by your side. Bailey must be the only dog in her home. She does not do well sharing her space, food, or resources with other dogs and will need a family that can provide her with a dog-free environment. Bailey thrives when she doesn't have to compete with other pets and can enjoy all the attention, treats, and meals to herself. Because of this, her future home should not have any resident dogs or plans to add another dog in the future. If you're looking for a loyal, active companion who will be devoted to her family, Bailey is ready to meet you!
