Sarsaparilla — better known as Sass or Sassy Pants — is a one-year-old sweetheart looking for a very special forever home. She came into rescue at just four months old with her mom and siblings after spending the first months of her life surviving on their own with very little human interaction. While many of her siblings adjusted quickly to people and have since been adopted, Sass is still learning that humans can be safe, kind, and loving. Sass has made slow but meaningful progress in foster care, and watching her confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding. She may not be the kind of dog who runs up to greet strangers, but underneath her fear is a goofy, playful girl with so much potential. Once she feels safe, she loves lounging beside her foster mom on the couch, playing with toys, wrestling with her foster siblings, and romping around the yard. She’ll even accept the occasional belly rub when she’s feeling brave. Sass absolutely thrives around other dogs and feels most comfortable following the lead of her foster siblings. Because of this, her ideal home will have another friendly, confident dog to help guide her and continue teaching her how to trust and enjoy life as a beloved pet. She is house trained, crate trained, and does very well with a consistent routine. A calm home with patient adopters and a securely fenced yard would help her continue building confidence at her own pace. Sass is what we lovingly call a “project dog.” She will need a patient and understanding family willing to celebrate small victories and allow her the time and space she needs to blossom. While she may never be the life of the party, we truly believe the bond she forms with her people will be something incredibly special. Gerald’s story could have ended very differently. When he arrived at the shelter, he was severely emaciated, weak, and could barely stand. He spent time under the close care of our veterinary team, who carefully monitored and nourished him through his recovery. Today, Gerald is healthy, happy, and finally ready for the forever home he deserves. At 6 years old, this sweet pit mix has already endured more than most dogs should — including recently losing an eye. But Gerald hasn’t let any of that dim his spirit. He’s resilient, loving, and truly one of the easiest dogs you could ever meet. Gerald is fully house trained, crate trained, and exceptionally well behaved. No jumping, no countersurfing, no chaos — just a calm, gentle soul who wants to be near his people. This sweet boy is continuing to do really well in foster care. He is still showing no signs of pain and is settling beautifully into his calm, easy routine. Topher has a unique strut due to his vertebrae defect, but it doesnt take away from his happy, easygoing spirit one bit. Hes the definition of a chill boycontent just being near his people and enjoying the slow life. One little note: I havent heard him bark, but he will let out a short howl after I leave him. It only lasts a minute or so and then he settles right back in. At this time, we are beginning to accept adoption applications for Topher. If youre looking for a low-key, gentle soul who just wants companionship and a soft place to land, he may be your guy

Olive absolutely adores people of all ages and quickly becomes your little shadow, happily following you from room to room. You may even find yourself checking the floor before stepping away from the kitchen counter because she always wants to be close to her people. Olive is calm, affectionate, and easygoing. She enjoys walks, rides well in the car, and would happily join you for a hike, but she’s just as content lounging on the couch beside you while you relax at home.
