Story
Stan the Man has been at the pound for seven long months already. Despite Stanley’s serious facial expressions, he is a sweetheart, and will let loose and play when he’s given some time outside of his kennel. Stanley was abandoned after his owner got evicted, and has been living at the pound ever since. Stanley is pushing 70 pounds after his Thanksgiving feast. He will need a slow introduction to any cats in the home, but he seemed okay when we tested him. Any kids or dogs at home will need to come meet him prior to taking him home. Come out and take a chance on Stanley, we promise he’s pretty great!

Story
We’ve been told that Hambone looks like the happiest dog in the world. His “smile” reaches from ear to ear, and he never takes a bad picture! Hambone is a medium/large sized dog, and weighs 60 lbs. He’s smart and eager to please. He pulls on a leash and has lots of built up kennel energy but should mellow out in a home! Hambone has done well with cats! He has been picky about other dogs while at the pound which could just be due to kennel stress. Any kids or dogs at home will need to come in to meet him prior to adopting him. Come out and meet the Happy Hambone and add him to your family!

Story
Vada is a very special dog who quickly won over the hearts of our entire shelter staff. She comes from a rough background and is looking for a fresh start. She is terrified of men; we believe there was some abuse present in her past. She has her guard up, but with time and patience she opens up quickly. Vada LOVES cats and would do best with older kids/teens. She does not like dogs very much. She is really looking for a family willing to rescue her and continue to work on her trust building abilities. She knows her basic commands and seems to be house broken. She's eager to please once she breaks down her emotional barriers. She's going to be an awesome dog for someone, she just needs to be given the chance.Age: 6Housebroken: YesActivity Level: MediumKids: Teens 14+Dogs: Not a fan of other dogs Cats: Loves cats!Training Needs: Fairly high, terrified of strangers, especially menLeash Trained: YesMore information? Hermione joined us after her previous owner faced health challenges that made it difficult to care for her. She is an incredibly sweet and loving little girl who adores snuggling on your lap, rolling over for belly rubs, and showering you with kisses. Her affectionate nature shines through in everything she does. Hermione also has a playful side—she absolutely loves toys and going on walks. Her current favorite is a squeaky rubber ball that keeps her entertained for hours. This charming and gentle soul is eagerly awaiting the day her forever family finds her and takes her home.

Story
Jalene is a 4-year-10-month old Boxer/Bulldog mix weighing 38 pounds. She came to the shelter as a stray so her history is unknown. Jalene is a petite girl with a large personality! She is full of sassiness, cuddles and kisses! She likes to go for walks but pulls, needs leash training and a harness is required to prevent trachea damage, she's especially crazy and pulls when squirrels are near! She is very smart and curious. She is quick to learn. She loves treat puzzles and knows commands sit and paw. She is selective with treats and loves stuffed toys. Plays fetch and and enjoys other outdoor toys, lots of energy. She thinks she is a lap dog and wants to be with you all the time. Loves car rides, especially if there is a pup cup-minus the cup! No cats permitted in her new home. Jalene does well with other dogs but should be the only dog in the home due to her not wanting to share attention (jealous). Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review.
