Meet Chad 🤎 Chad first came to us as a tiny 8-week-old puppy and was quickly adopted. Unfortunately, at now 5 months old, Chad is being returned to our care and will once again be searching for his forever family. Chad is a VERY sweet boy who already has so much going for him! He is crate trained, house trained, leash trained, and loves being around his people. He’s still just a puppy with so much love to give and so much potential. 🥹 We also want to be transparent about what Chad needs in his next home. His current family has noticed some food/resource guarding. Chad has been evaluated by our trainer, who feels this behavior is very workable with consistency, structure, and continued training. Because his current family has children in the home, they do not feel they are in a position to safely and consistently work through this with him. This does not define Chad. He is only 5 months old, and we are committed to finding him a family who understands that puppies are still learning and is willing to continue putting in the work to help him succeed. ❤️ We would love to find Chad a patient, committed home that can provide him with structure and continue working on everything he has already learned. What Our Volunteers Say Fire Chief is a total gentleman and a truly fantastic, solid dog. During his recent pack walks, he showed zero reactivity with other dogs around—he was the picture of "super calm" and steady. This boy is an enthusiast when it comes to his outdoor time! He is so eager to take advantage of his walks that whenever we stopped, he’d gently grab the leash in his mouth to give a little "let's go!" nudge, but he settled right back into a nice rhythm the moment we started moving again. He even allowed a volunteer he didn't know well to pick him up and handle him without any fuss, proving just how trusting and level-headed he really is. Fire Chief is a dependable, easygoing companion who is more than ready for his next adventure.

Hi, I’m Maxwell. Most people call me Max or Maxy though, and my foster family has nicknamed me Goob (short for Goober). I was almost euthanized in the shelter because I wasn’t feeling great and wouldn’t walk, but then the nice girls at BBAR found a foster for me and gave me a second chance. At first they thought I was a hospice foster and only had a few months to live - boy did I show them they were wrong! I went through some testing and it was confirmed that I do have hepatozoonosis (a super rare tick-borne disease) - unfortunately I’ll have it the rest of my life. But that doesn’t stop me from living! With a simple anti inflammatory regime, joint supplement food, and a patient & loving foster family that keeps me active at my pace - I actually went into remission! I feel great most days and enjoy being active, but do have an occasional flare up that makes me a little stiff & achy.   I LOVE kids & ‘my people’ - I’ve learned to LOVE walkies - I LOVE a snuggly couch with blankets - and who wouldn’t LOVE treats?! I know how to sit, give paw, come when called, and go in my crate when it’s time. I’m super smart, super sweet, super goofy, and a super good boy. Oh, and I’m potty trained! My mom says that I’m “dog friendly” with the right dog. I wouldn’t do well in a dog park (too overwhelming & scary), but I do really like to say hi to new friends on walks. I’d need a little bit of patience & time to feel safe in a home with another dog. My foster brother is submissive, chill & respects my boundaries when I’m not feeling well or just don’t want to play - and we get along GREAT (he’s my BFF ).  I am fully vetted, AKA I've had my yearly vaccines, monthly prevention, and have been neutered and microchipped. I also completed my heartworm treatment. If you’re looking for a goofy, smiley dog that’s low maintenance and enjoys slow walks, thrives on couch snuggles, loves his person, and is an all-around good boy - we might be a good match. Meet Olive! Olive is our real-life teddy bear. This girl was found out in the woods with her her 7 puppies. She did a great job caring for them despite being outside in winter. The puppies all survived and have all found their forever families. Olive has received her vaccinations, spay surgery, and microchip. She is up to date on prevention. She is heartworm positive but has already started her treatment. We are doing the "slow kill" treatment method for her heart worms so she can be adopted now and her recheck will be in about 9 months. Olive is fostered with other dogs and LOVES her furry siblings. She really enjoys snuggles on a soft dog bed or couch. She is low energy and easy going. This girl is a BIG lover of snuggles and affection. She's also built so much confidence on the leash and out in public. The only thing Olive doesn't love is being alone - can you blame her? We would prefer she is adopted to a home with at least one other dog as a companion for when the humans are gone. She is the best girl and is ready for her forever home! Duece is a playful 4.5 year-old pittie that loves constant attention from fetch to cuddles and belly rubs. He barks at any stranger until they rub his belly. He loves going outside for short stints but is mostly a couch potato especially when it’s raining, extremely cold, or scorching hot. He will try his best to stay outside all day if the weather is sunny, low 70s with a breeze (really can’t blame him). He would be better off in a home with no other pets or a home with a more Alpha male. He resource guards and is food motivated.REASON FOR REHOMING: Duece was my friend's dog. Approximately 5 months into their lease they were advised they couldn’t have a dog of this breed. I fostered him on the premise that they would find a place where they could accommodate their baby at the end of the lease. Unfortunately, they re-signed at their place and abandoned him completely. He needs to be neutered, He needs UTD shots, and medical care for a skin allergy.Adoption fee negotiable.
