Story
Everyone that sees Luna says she is the happiest pup they have ever seen! Her whole body wags when she sees you! She is 9 months old, has completed obedience training and knows her stuff! She loves to get brushed, is able to be crated up to 8 hours and is never aggressive! Luna lost a hind leg at a very early age but that does not slow her down at all! She is able to hop up in the car and runs with the others as if she has all fours! She comes with a crate, bed, cot, a pin with room to spread out, food bowls, leash, collar w/info tag. I am struggling personally and want to find a good home while she is young. Luna will be a great addition to any home and will do well with children and other pets.

Story
Meet sweet Octavia! This little girl is around 6-7 months old and came to us from our rural shelter partner when she was only 5 weeks old! Poor girl had a ROUGH start to life but was a fighter and made it through some pretty tough medical conditions. This girl is 100% healthy and is so ready to find her forever home. She has no lasting effects from the battles she fought in the beginning and is just the sweetest and happiest little lady. On top of medical conditions, Octavia then found herself in a situation where she needed rescuing once again. Without going into details we are just happy we have our sweet girl and can spoil her while finding her true forever home. She loves other dogs and does fine with kitties but being a puppy just needs to learn they do not want to play like her other pals do. She is super sweet, doesnt jump, is house trained and does well in crate. Octavia is fully vetted, spayed and microchipped. Story
She is a super sweet 10 year old gal. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $290 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturday and not all animals are able to attend so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap so thank you for your understanding and helping us save as many as possible. Please email lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.

Story
Meet Beau.  This sweet, handsome boy was recently returned to rescue after over two years in a home. His owner felt he had anxiety and couldn't provide the attention he needed. Beau does have some separation anxiety because he love to be with his person.  Exercise seems to help him expel some of his energy.  Beau will love you and be your best friend. Please visit www.hfhelpnokillrescue.com to fill out an application for Beau. ##223421##

Story
Mimosa is the SWEETEST 1.5 year old mixed breed girl. We went to the shelter to pull some others and couldn't leave without her. She is so easy going and loves everyone she meets. She is quiet and has yet to bark in her foster home. She is a little timid on the leash but she is working on it. She is crate trained and almost house trained. She does have access to a doggy door currently but without one she might take a little adjustment but it shouldn't take her long. She does well with kids as well and has not one ounce of aggression in her. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, prevention and heartworm negative. Her adoption fee is $200. Please use this link for the application to be approved to meet her: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=SGVJMGQYJuly 26, 2024, 2:35 pm

Story
Meet Wilimina! This sweet bulldog lady came to us from our rural shelter partner after being found as a stray with another dog. Sadly, this sweet girl was actually terrifed of the dog she was found with and after being separated at the shelter this little girl really started to come out of her shell! She is some type of bulldog mix and is SHORT and STOUT. She is your typical bulldog and full of drool, kisses & lots of love. Wilma LOVES to be around people and LOVES other dogs. She currently hangs out with Sullivan and these two are quite the pair. They love to romp and play and can always be found sun tanning when the weather is nice. Wilma is truly the sweetest girl and deserves the entire world and then some! Wilma is fully vetted and will be spayed with our vet shortly! Story
Yesterday, we happened to be in the right place at the right time. We were at an upstate shelter partner picking up two sweet pups we had previously tagged when we asked to walk around and meet some of the others. Sadly, like many shelters across the state, they are overflowing and unfortunately many dogs are being euthanized due to the overcrowding. Not a single soul is safe. We could go into so many different rants about that but the focus of the post is these two. When walking around, we came across several dogs from a horrific hoarding case where they were being locked in cages and used to make money. When we heard their story and saw their conditions our stomachs were in knots. Although we've been extremely limited on open foster homes we had to help them. Both are some type of frenchie/bulldog mixes and clearly bred for the "pocket look. First thing first was some new names, so without further intro meet Huston Littlewish (male black) and Muriel Moonthistle (tan female) They were so incredibly shut down and didn't even want to move a muscle. Upon leaving the shelter it was evident just how bad their health was. While holding Huston, you can FEEL his heart bounding irregularly & working in the vet field we can tell you that's not a good thing. Huston will need a work up with our vet and more than likely a cardiology specialist. Both babies are EXTREMELY emaciated and you can count every rib they have. Both of their ears are covered in fly bites and they are desperate for some serious TLC. While these two were unexpected we couldn't turn away knowing they were still in danger. We have a long road ahead of us but we're committed to showing these two just how incredible life is going to be from here on out. With everything they've been through they have shown nothing short of love and happiness. I like to think they know that they're finally safe. They'll do anything to crawl and sleep in your lap. It's hard to take pictures of them because they just want to be by your side. They're great with the other dogs & highly food motivated. We would LOVE to get them into foster homes where they can continue to decompress and get all the love while we fix them up. Update 7/2/2024: Our sweet little Houston went and saw the cardiologist after our regular vet diagnosed him with serious heart disease. After an echocardiogram it was shown that our sweet little man, who's life has only started has such severe aortic stenosis that his prognosis is not great. Poor Houston has a very high chance of passing away in the next two years. If he makes it through, as we pray he will, he will then be at risk for developing right sided heart failure due to how hard his heart is going to have to work. Unfortunately due to how severe his disease is, surgery is not an option at this time. We have started medications to help his little heart and he has done wonderfully. Houston is the littlest love bug but has so much love for everyone he meets. Houston loves other dogs and does well with kitties! Due to his heart disease it is best he lives a low key lifestyle to keep his heart rate down. No big adventures in the future for this guy. ( Although a fun bucket list trip wouldn't be a bad idea) Houston clearly needs a very special family who is going to look past his medical conditions and give him all the love in the world while he can get it! Medically he just needs to take his medication once a day for life (its around $30 a month and an echocardiogram of his heart every year) If interested in giving our sweet boy a forever home apply today via our website at www.dustytailsanimalrescue.org
