Story
🌟 Meet Darcy – The Sweetest Little Meatball! 🌟 Darcy is a goofy, lovable, and oh-so-snuggly girl who’s ready to charm her way into your heart! With her adorable underbite (seriously, it’s the best one you’ll ever see!) and her chunky little frame, she’s basically a walking bundle of joy. At about 2–3 years old and weighing in at 39 lbs, Darcy is guessed to be a bulldog mix. She’s the ultimate couch potato but still has plenty of silly, playful energy to keep you smiling. Darcy loves people, gets along great with kids, and does well with other dogs. She hasn’t been cat tested yet but seems unbothered by our farm animals. 🐾 Why You’ll Love Darcy: Sweet, goofy, and affectionate – the ultimate family companion Dog- and kid-friendly Could thrive as an apartment dog due to her smaller size Loves lounging and being part of the family 🩺 Medical & Care: Spayed & microchipped Up to date on Rabies and Bordetella Will receive her final Distemper & Lepto vaccine on September 24th Heartworm test scheduled soon (just to double-check her health!) On monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention Darcy was found as a stray and brought to a local shelter, so we don’t know much about her past. She may not be fully potty trained yet, but with her smarts and eagerness to please, we’re confident she’ll pick it up quickly in a loving home. 💙 Darcy is the perfect mix of silly and sweet—a little meatball who’s ready to roll right into her forever family. Could that be you? 📩 Apply today to meet Darcy: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HPAW/Dog Or email us at adoptions@hoovesandpaws.org

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mama Dukes’ life story has that rare mix of heartbreak, resilience, and pure sweetness. Her story is one of survival. Meet Mama Dukes. Mama Dukes is an estimated 13 year old American Bulldog mix (with possibly a hint of Boxer charm) whose spirit is as beautiful as her snowy white coat. After spending her entire life in an undersized outdoor kennel where she was used solely for breeding, Mama Dukes was finally rescued by local animal control and given her first real chance at love. When she came to us, she was underweight, neglected, and in need of extensive medical care. She had multiple masses removed (thank goodness all benign), underwent two rounds of major dental surgery, and was finally spayed after a lifetime of over breeding. But even in her hardest moments, Mama Dukes has shown nothing but sweetness and gentleness. She greeted everyone with gentle eyes, a soft heart, an unfaltering spirit, and a willingness to trust despite everything  she had endured. Today, Mama Dukes is healthy, safe, and thriving in her foster home. She lives peacefully with several foster dog siblings and is wonderfully dog friendly. She’s fully housebroken, uses a doggy door like a pro, and has perfected the art of being the world’s most devoted couch companion and Olympic snuggler. Because she lacked human companionship for so many years, Mama Dukes has become a true Velcro dog. She bonds deeply and wants to be near her people. She will do best in a home where she isn’t left alone for long hours. She does experience some separation anxiety when left in the car and can see her person walking away, but in the home, she settles beautifully with routine  and reassurance. Mama Dukes is gentle, loving, and endlessly grateful for every kindness shown to her. After a lifetime of hardship, she deserves a retirement filled with comfort, companionship, and the kind of love she was denied for far too long. We are searching for a very special home for this very special girl. Only the perfect match will do. A home where she will be cherished and cared for, for the rest of her days. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow, a soft snuggler, devoted companion, and the sweetest soul you’ll ever meet, Mama Dukes is ready to finally be someone’s beloved and treasured family member. Story
🎶 Bow wow yo yippee yay — meet Bowser! 🎶 Bowser is a 6–7 year old pup who is more than ready to find his forever people. He’s one of those dogs who makes you want to squish his face and smother him with love — and the best part? He lives for it. Bowser once had a family, but when he ended up in the shelter, no one came to claim him. He waited and waited… until we stepped in to give him the second chance he so clearly deserved. Over the last three months in foster care, it’s been incredible watching him blossom, learn to trust, and fully settle into home life . And let’s be honest — Bowser doesn’t think he’s a dog. He’s basically a small, furry human in a dog suit. He loves dressing up (and fully embracing the moment), believes snuggling is a competitive sport, and considers himself a full-time member of the household — not just a pet. He’s a 100% certified snugglebug/house hippo who will happily curl up next to you for movie night. Heated blankets? Elite. Squeaky toys? Also elite. He sleeps in bed when invited (manners!) and takes his role as Professional Cuddle Companion very seriously. Bowser is completely house trained and has full freedom in the home when his foster is away — no mischief here. He even has a standing four-week grooming appointment and is learning, with patience, that the nail dremel isn’t so scary after all. We love a growth arc. He walks beautifully on leash in open spaces and enjoys peaceful strolls, though busier areas with lots of dogs can still be a little overwhelming for him. (He has been known to “defend the household” from dogs on TV — security is important, after all.) A home that understands he’s still navigating some dog reactivity will help him continue to succeed. In the backyard, he’ll surprise you with joyful zoomies before returning to his true calling: being attached to his human. He does well with calm canine friends but would also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only sidekick, soaking up all the love and attention for himself. Now entering his golden years, Bowser deserves a home where he can bask in sunshine, security, and endless affection. His fur may be black, but make no mistake — Bowser is a golden boy through and through. Truly, we cannot understand how he hasn’t been scooped up yet. Could you be the lucky one to finally claim him? 🖤🐾

Story
Dior is an almost 4 years old -American Bully-he weighs around 58 lbs. Dior is a confident, energetic boy who came to the shelter as a stray alongside his brother, Jetta. Although their owners were identified, repeated attempts to reach them were unsuccessful and neither dog was reclaimed. Dior is affectionate and playful once he settles in, but he can be a bit bold when first meeting other dogs. Meet and greets with other dogs are required to ensure appropriate matches. Like his brother, Dior is still very puppy-ish and benefits from clear structure, consistency, and continued positive guidance. Dior would do best in a home that understands strong, energetic dogs and is committed to providing routine, enrichment, and ongoing socialization to help him thrive. Dior is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed, and on monthly preventatives.
