Courtesy listing Maggie is from TX and now in VA available for adoption. She is fully vetted and is negative for heartworm (she has been tested twice 11 months apart and should stay negative for life if kept on prevention.) She is a sweet dog but a little shy and scared of life. She needs an adopter willing to give her support and encouragement as she settles into a new home. She is very quiet and crates well. She prefers to potty in the same area on walks so should be easy to have in a yard environment as well. She is good with other dogs and has shown no aggression towards cats but hasn’t lived with any.

Story
Fontana is available for immediate adoption in Warrenton Virginia She is a 4-5 yr old Boxer mix. Around 55 lbs she is fully vetted. Has been in foster care for nearly a year. She has been fully treated for heartworm and has a recent completely negative 4DX test. She is incredibly friendly and social with humans and dogs. She has shown NO aggression towards cats, horses or cows while in her foster home. She is great in a car, brave and friendly in new places. Crates fine and has spent a lot of time working on her leash skills but is still best in a prong collar as she can still pull some. She is very reliable off leash with a good recall and no desire to wander off. She kennels with a male and another female of similar size and age and they all share food, water, beds and chews with no issues. She would love to find her forever home so please share her. https://form.jotform.com/hailmaryrescue/hail-mary-rescue-adoption-applicati Her adoption fee has been sponsored ❤️❤️

Story
Meet Payne, a remarkably handsome and friendly boy originally hailing from Georgia. Adopted at 6 months old, he unexpectedly found himself without a family at the age of 2. Payne's adoption occurred during the COVID period when everyone was staying home. Sadly, his momma, citing a lack of time, returned him to the shelter rather than back to his rescue. Payne had previously been in the shelter at 6 months old after his initial owner went to jail, and the situation was perplexing for him. When we received the call to pick him up, Payne was very anxious. Within 30 minutes into our drive, he began giving kisses and seeking comfort by placing his paw on my arm. I had to reassure him that he was okay. By the time we reached our destination, he transformed into a wagging, affectionate lap dog. Payne is in need of a loving home where he will be cherished as a true family member, ensuring he won't face abandonment for the third time or be returned to a shelter. Unfortunately, he wasn't vetted as required by his contract and promise from his adopter for the past two years, receiving only the initial care from his rescue. Now, Payne's vaccines are up to date, and he is scheduled for neutering, with a microchip in place. Dog-friendly and people-friendly, Payne has the potential to be an amazing addition to any family. However, he is strong and tends to pull during walks, so we recommend an active family capable of handling his strength, characteristic of his bully breed background.

Story
Introducing the delightful Aiden, a Texas-born sweetheart whose mother was rescued from the dog pound by a local organization before being transferred to Pennsylvania in April. Aiden, born on October 28, 2021, is a heartworm-negative, up-to-date-on-shots, and microchipped Boxer mix. Despite our best efforts to socialize him, Aiden remains quite shy, taking some time to warm up to new people and situations. However, once he does, he reveals his sweet, loving nature, coupled with an endearing silliness and playfulness, particularly with his foster family. Aiden is not only dog-friendly but also house-trained. For more details or to express interest, please don't hesitate to inquire. Aiden, this sweet boy, has been patiently waiting for too long to find a family to call his own.

Story
Introducing the beautiful Starlene, a boxer mix weighing around 50 lbs. Although she's currently a bit thin, she's steadily regaining weight after giving birth to six adorable puppies. Starlene's story begins when she was picked up as a stray with her one-day-old puppies. Despite her previous owner wanting only her and not the puppies, the shelter, faced with the option to euthanize the puppies, reached out to a rescue. The rescue, instead of euthanizing, took in both Starlene and her puppies. Today, Starlene is eagerly anticipating a new beginning and a brighter life. She is currently in a temporary foster home, nursing her babies for a few more weeks. After that, she'll undergo spaying (while a fundraiser is generated) before being ready for adoption. If you can offer a temporary foster or a permanent adoption for Starlene and be her companion until she finds her forever-loving family, she will be forever grateful. Despite her past neglect, Starlene is dog-friendly, very sociable, and loves people. This resilient cutie deserves a better life, and with your help, she can embark on a journey towards happiness and security.
