Meet Cheese, a one and a half year old Boxer/Pointer mix.Cheese’s story is a tough one for such a young dog. Adopted as a puppy in 2025, he’s unfortunately been returned to the shelter three times. That kind of instability is hard on any dog, and it’s left him with some separation anxiety—but it’s also made one thing very clear: Cheese is ready for a true forever home that will commit to him for life.Despite everything, Cheese is still a happy, outgoing, and delightfully dorky guy. His adorable underbite gives him a constant goofy grin, and his playful personality makes him a joy to be around. He bonds deeply with his people and thrives on connection—he just needs someone who can give him consistency, reassurance, and clear direction.Cheese is a smart pup who already knows “sit” and is very treat motivated, which makes training a great way to build his confidence and strengthen your bond. He’s strong and energetic, so he’ll do best with an adopter who can provide structure, regular exercise, and guidance to help him feel secure.Because of his prey drive, Cheese would do best in a home without cats. What he really needs is someone who understands that he’s been through a lot and is ready to show him what stability and unconditional love look like. Meet Darcy Lynn, a one and a half year old Hound/Boxer mix weighing 48 pounds.Darcy Lynn is a sweet girl who has had a lot of change happen all at once. She came into our care after her owner was arrested, and sadly, no one has come forward to take her home. We can only imagine how confusing and frightening that must be for her, especially while she’s missing the person she knew and loved.Darcy is very scared right now and needs a slow, gentle approach. She’s not the kind of dog who will immediately run up and greet you—she needs time to feel safe, build trust, and understand that she’s okay. With patience, consistency, and plenty of TLC, we’re hopeful she’ll begin to come out of her shell.For now, Darcy would do best in a calm home without young children. She is also a flight risk, so her adopters will need to be especially careful with doors, gates, and transitions. Darcy should not be allowed outside without being securely leashed right now.Darcy didn’t ask for any of these changes, and she deserves the chance to decompress and heal from everything she’s been through.
