Story
Meet Lokie, a one year old American Pitbull Terrier/Bull Terrier mix.Lokie is a great medium sized dog weighing in at around 40 pounds. This guy loves people and loves attention. He is very enthusiastic about everything he does and loves to go on walks. He is very treat motivated and knows the commands `sit` and `down`. Lokie is a bit too interested in the kitties so we are recommending a home without feline companions. This guy has a confident and outgoing personality that will do great in almost any home. Story
Meet Maja, a three year old Pit/Shepherd mix weighing around 50 pounds.Maja was owner surrendered to us due to issues with their landlord. They had gotten her from a friend and had her for three weeks before bringing her to us. Maja has been through a lot of change in the past month but she has handled it well like the sweetheart she is. Her previous owners describe her as friendly and sweet and said she likes to go on her walks and is good with kids. She was potty trained except when she was left alone in the house, so it might be best if she is kenneled when you are gone as she is less likely to potty in a confined space. Maja is a fantastic walker on her leash and knows the command `sit`. She seems to be an overall well-mannered, treat-motivated girl. Story
Meet Queenie, a four year American Staffy/Pit mix weighing around 50 pounds.Queenie was taken from a home with animal control along with 21 other animals. Although Queenie was one of the better cared for animals, many of the animals show varying degrees of neglect the most startling being her puppies who are over six months old but poor diet and conditions have led them to be extremely small and underdeveloped; if you saw them you would think they were 2-3 months old with one weighing only 8.5 pounds. Despite this hardship Queenie is an extremely sweet and friendly girl who is very treat motivated. She should be extremely easy to train and even ignored other dogs making a racket in favor of a treat and looking at people for attention. Queenie has an adorable underbite and a charming personality, we encourage you to come down and meet her for yourself. Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT??
