Story
Meet Princess Betsy, a four-year-old Pit mix weighing 55 pounds.Princess Betsy has truly come out of her shell since arriving with us, and we couldn’t be happier to see the sweet, easygoing girl she’s become. She is an outgoing, go-with-the-flow, and calm dog who seems ready to fit right into just about any family.Betsy walks beautifully on leash and is a pleasure to take out. She has the perfect balance of couch potato and playful pup—she is happy to relax with you, but when she gets excited, she can break out into some adorable zoomies. She is treat motivated, knows “sit,” and is eager to be a good girl for her people.Betsy was surrendered by her previous owners through no fault of her own when they were no longer able to afford her care. While that transition was understandably difficult for her at first, she has adjusted wonderfully and is now showing us just how affectionate, playful, and adaptable she can be.According to her previous owners, Betsy is potty trained and has lived successfully with children. She has been consistently sweet with shelter staff and enjoys attention and affection. With her calm, flexible personality, we think she could settle happily into many different types of homes. Her previous owners reported a history of seasonal allergies and a heart murmur. We have not independently confirmed these conditions, and she is not currently receiving medication for either. Adopters should be aware of this history and may wish to discuss it with their veterinarian after adoption.Princess Betsy is a genuinely good girl who has handled a big life change with grace. She’s ready to leave shelter life behind and become someone`s beloved companion. Whether you’re looking for a cozy couch companion, a walking buddy, or a dog who will happily zoom around when the mood strikes, Betsy could be your perfect match. This pet is available for adoption on 6.16.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
