Story
Welcome Oaks to CCPAL Rescue foster program. Oaks is a 1.5 year old German Short haired pointer and German Shepherd. He is about 48 pounds and a good weight. He is good in a car, potty trained, doggy door trained and lives with six children starting at age 2. He also lives with 6 other dogs and does fine. He would be great with a family and children would be fine. We like them to be 8 or older. He is smart, laid back, good with other dogs and bonds deeply to his family. He is a little timid with strangers but comfortable with his people. His foster family is going to start taking him places so he can get used to changes in environment and other people. He is smart but he doesn’t like to retrieve like his sister does. He is a nice dog and naturally a little protective to his family. He would be great with a family that the dad travels and he wants to feel that his family is safe and taken care of. He is a moderate shedding dog and with his long legs would be a great walking or jogging companion. He is neutered, healthy and getting his vaccinations and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $300 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Are you in need of snuggles to keep you warm this winter? Meet Cora, the snuggle queen! Cora is a 2 year old, mixed breed - she is listed as Rottweiler/Springer Spaniel but she has the personality of a Golden Retriever. Cora is a happy dog who absolutely loves being around her humans. She can be found at your side, most of the time, but she also loves lounging in a comfy spot and is especially happy exploring outside. When the door opens, she bounds across the yard looking for any squirrels or bunnies that are invading her yard. Cora loves playing fetch, especially with her favorite ball. When lounging on the couch, she enjoys invading all your personal space to ensure maximum pets and love. She walks nicely on leash, though she can get a little enthusiastic when she sees other dogs. Cora also enjoys joining her foster family on outdoor patio adventures, where she likes to keep an eye on all the people and pups passing by. Cora does well with people and dogs of all sizes. She does get a little bouncy in order to get attention but she is learning that she needs to keep her feet on the ground. Cora rides well in the car and walks decent on a leash, just a little pulling when something interesting is nearby. Cora barks very little, just now and then when there is a dog outside or when she’s enticing another dog to play. Because she loves to chase small critters, she would do best in a home without small pets. She was tested with a cat, sniffed and left when it hissed at her. Cora is crate-trained and completely housebroken. She sleeps soundly in her kennel overnight and relaxes there while her foster family is away. While Cora gets along well with other dogs, she would also be perfectly content as your one and only, soaking up all the love. This sweet and affectionate girl gave her all as a mom to her litter of 6 pups and is now looking for a home where she can be the one pampered and adored. Cora can’t wait to meet her forever family!  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 11, 2025, 8:50 am

Story
Meet Aussie, a 7-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer with a zest for life! At 7 years old, Aussie may be considered a bit older, but he’s proof that age is just a number. He’s full of energy and enthusiasm and thrives on being close to his people. Whether he’s tagging along as you move around the house or relaxing nearby, Aussie loves to be part of the action.  Aussie is also proving that old dogs can learn new tricks! He’s eager and ready for training, and we’ve been working on basics like “sit” and taking treats gently. His intelligence and enthusiasm make him a quick learner, so training will be a breeze.  Aussie does well in his kennel. He rides well in the car and enjoys going for walks, though he’s still working on leash manners to prevent pulling.  Currently, Aussie lives with another dog, though they mostly ignore each other. He’d do well in a home with or without another canine companion. Aussie adores people, and his friendly nature suggests he’d be great with kids. However, until he learns to contain his excitement, his wiggly enthusiasm might unintentionally knock over smaller children.  Aussie is house-trained. With a little training and patience, he’ll make a fantastic companion! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $250.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 7, 2025, 6:24 pm
