I am a German Shorthaired Pointer mix after all, we are known for our brains, our smarts and our intelligence :) And if that is not enough, we are GORGEOUS to boot! Arlo is a 1 year, 3 month old GSP. I am looking for a good home for him due to my schedule having become too busy and his inability to coexist with our pet cats. He is very friendly and has had training and understands basic commands such as sit, recall, place, no, etc. as well as hand signals for sit and down. He is crate trained, though he does struggle with it sometimes during long work days. He is currently on anxiety medication to help with the long days in his kennel and having to be in a house around cats. He is high energy and loves to play with other dogs, but he has a very high prey drive and needs very close supervision around anything that could be seen as prey. He would do best with a large fenced in yard as he likes to run after critters. He is not gun shy and would make a great bird dog with the correct training. He is scheduled to be neutered on December 14th and will be ready to go to his new home as soon as he has healed up from the procedure.

We adopted River from MN Humane Society 5 years ago. Her background from the Humane Society is that she was a stray from Arkansas that had never had a home. She's about 7.5 years old. River has been so loved over the years we've had her. She's super cuddly (thinks she's a lap dog and will sit right on you), loves to give kisses and is always happy to see you. She also loves walks, laying outside and watching squirrels from our deck. We're looking for a home that will love River as much as we do. The best home would be with someone that can walk her regularly, hang out on the couch with and give her a really tasty bone to chew on! A new home with older kids or no kids would be the best fit for River.

Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato.
