Story
Zena is a beautiful sweet girl that loves her humans.  Her foster parents stated she is a perfect angel in the house and loves cuddles.  She loves sharing a pillow at night and sleeping with the family.  As a young Brittany, she does need her exercise.  She must be walked on a harness and requires more training walking on a leash. She will require a playmate to help burn off some Brittany energy.  Also requires a 6 ft privacy fence for playing and sunshine. Zena is crate trained also. She is up to date on vaccines, Heartworm negative, spayed and microchipped. Cats are not recommended as she has a prey drive even though not a hunting dog.  Her adoption fee is 400.00.June 9, 2025, 10:15 pm

Story
Hi everyone – I’m Susie, a very active 10-year-old.  I love my mom, Lucy, and I'm looking for a home where we can be adopted together. Why Susie and Lucy are such a perfect pair and will only be adopted together: They are bonded at the hip and literally don't like to go anywhere without each other.  They love being together and caring for one another. They love everybody! They are great with other dogs and humans of all ages. (Ok maybe they love cats a little too much to share a home with them.)  Golden years but with loads of energy!  Don't be fooled by their ages - while they are mature, sweet-natured, and well-socialized companion dogs, they both still have plenty of spunk and love to play, run, and explore even while they like their quiet time and snoozing by your side. They are Brittanys with the dial turned down just a tad.   Perfect for the Brittany lover. They represent all the classic traits of the breed. Cuddle masters? Check. Outdoor adventures? Yes please. Pulling on the leash? No way!  They have mastered good leash manners with their twice daily walks (mandatory for their well being and good manners).  Exploring their yard and lounging in the sun?  Absolutely.  Well-behaved and able to be left uncrated in the house when their parents are away?  Mastered.   These two will need a home with a good sized yard surrounded by a sturdy 5-foot physical fence that is secured at the bottom. They are spayed, current on their vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Susie’s corner: They call me Susie the Snuggler! I love to squish my way onto your lap or melt into bed with my mom Lucy.  I do have some arthritis so I’m on daily medication that really makes me feel so much better and allows me move like I’m years younger than I am. My heart of gold has a slight murmur, but the vet says I’m ok and it just needs to be monitored. We did lots of tests so we can keep a close eye on it as the years go by! Susie’s adoption fee is $250.00 (their combined adoption fee is $500.00).   Note Susie and Lucy are eligible for the senior-to-senior adoption fee of $150.00 per dog for qualified adopters ($300.00 combined senior-to-senior adoption fee). If you are interested in making Susie and Lucy members of your family, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the on-line application found under the Adopt tab. Once the application has been completed, you will be contacted by your state coordinator.  A phone interview, home visit and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.   Please realize that all our dogs are placed in the most appropriate home for their individual needs.  We do not operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. Susie and Lucy are eligible for our canine railroad and can be transported up to 1400 miles from Portland OR with the last leg (100) being driven by the adopter.  May 11, 2025, 4:07 pm

Story
Hi everyone – I’m Lucy, a very mischievous 12 year-old.  I love my daughter Susie and we go everywhere together so I’m looking for a home where we can be adopted together. Why Lucy and Susie are such a perfect pair and will only be adopted together: They are bonded at the hip and literally don’t like to go anywhere without each other.  They love being together and caring for one another. They are spayed, current on their vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Lucy’s corner: Not to brag, but my foster parents say I am pure sweetness.  I like to think of myself as the matriarch of the house:  confident, curious, and tail always wagging.  You’ll often find me  waddling around the house checking on everyone in the family.  Who are you calling old:  The vet says I’m in excellent health!  Twelve years young. Did I tell you I’m rather adventurous?  I love to explore the yard and initially looked for escape routes to go on walkabouts.  My twice daily walks with my foster parents have tempered my desire to roam, although I do need a yard with a fence that is secured at the bottom. Lucy’s adoption fee is $250.00 (their combined adoption fee is $500.00).  Note Lucy and Susie are eligible for the senior-to-senior adoption fee of $150.00 per dog for qualified adopters ($300.00 combined senior-to-senior adoption fee).   If you are interested in making Lucy and Susie members of your family, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the on-line application found under the Adopt tab. Story
Hi everyone!  My name is Triss.  I’m an adorable, one-year old weighing in at 30 lbs. I’m a very curious girl and love following you around the house to see what you’re doing and if I can help.  After an introduction I get along great with other dogs and love to play keep away and wrestle with my Brittany foster sister. I am good with all adults and well-mannered, mature children.  I haven’t been around cats so don’t know if I’d want them in my house. Like most Brittanys, I love hunt critters and will happily defend your yard by chasing and pointing out birds and squirrels.  My favorite toys are bones, stuffed toys, and balls.  After some daily exercise, I enjoy curling up on the couch next to you while you work, watch TV, or read a book.  I do occasionally grab a shoe to try and play with, but my foster family is helping me with my house/leash manners and training.  Despite my puppy tendencies, I am an excellent backseat pup and ride well in the car (properly tethered in, of course) and sleep in my kennel at night.  My ideal home would be somewhere I can stay active and busy. I need a home with a good-sized yard to play in that has a secure 6-foot fence. I also need someone who can give me attention, interaction, and mental stimulation. If I don’t have that, I can get a little mischievous.  I would love to have another pup to play with in my new home.  Daily exercise is a must! Overall, I have good instincts and am a quick learner. My perfect home would be an active family willing to show me patience and love as I work on learning to be the best dog I can be. The adoption fee for Triss is $400.  Triss is spayed, current on her vaccinations and microchipped. If you are interested in making Triss a member of your family, and have the time, energy, and love to give her, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the on-line adoption application form under the Adopt tab.  A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.  If you have questions after you have completed the adoption application, contact Patti at 801.641.4053. Please realize that all our dogs are placed in the most appropriate home for their individual needs.  We do not operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. Triss can be adopted up to 1400 miles from her foster home to eligible adopters. May 2, 2025, 10:59 pm

Story
Meet Tucker, he is one happy boy! He is very well-behaved in the house and will let you know when he needs to go outside. He would be happy to sleep by your bedside and is crate-trained. Tucker is a 5-year-old, big boy (63 pounds), but every ounce is lovable. His big brown eyes show you his sweet personality. He is very friendly with people, dogs and the one cat he lived with.  At mealtimes, he will sit politely and wait for his food to be given to him.  He has figured out where the treats are and will ask you to follow him to the kitchen, where he will sit and let you know what he wants.  If Tucker was a Knight of the Round Table, he would be “Sir Wagsalot” because his little stubby tail seems to be always wagging, showing his happiness. Tucker needs a home with a generous sized yard that is surrounded by a secure, physical 6-foot fence so he can run zoomies in the yard.  Due to his size and exuberance, Tucker will need an experienced handler since he is quite the strong puller and will need someone who has the time and commitment to work with him on his leash training.  He will also need an owner who understands Brittany energy and has the time and commitment to exercise Tucker daily.  Tucker’s adoption fee is $350.00.  Tucker is neutered, current on his vaccinations and microchipped. If you are interested in making Tucker a member of your family, and have the time, energy, and love to give him, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the on-line adoption application form under the Adopt tab. Story
Bleu (aka Bleuy) is an amazing dog! With a new baby on the way Bleuy deserves to be the king of his own castle - we really feel he would flourish as an only pet of a household for someone (or a couple) with no kids or other pets who can give him their undivided love and attention. Bleu is a loyal boy who enjoys just being near his people, going on long walks and hikes, a comfy bed or couch and a good bone. Bleu would love a fenced in backyard to play in and an active family to take him on adventures! He is smart & full of personality, great energy for walks & playtime but would be best in a house with no other pets or small children. An adopter who has experience working with reactive dogs is preferred. Bleu has shown signs of resource guarding and is very food/bone protective. Bleu is neutered and up to date on shots - currently enrolled in training classes at Ahimsa Dog Training in Ballard Seattle. Continuing training with Bleu is highly encouraged.
