Story
Hi!  My name is Henry and I’m a really sweet and well-adjusted, 2 yo Brittany/GSP mix.  I weight 42.6 pounds and come with a bonus tail and legit brit freckles.  My foster mom says I am the best boy – affectionate, athletic, friendly, gentle, loyal, playful, quiet, and smart.  I LOVE people and get along great with all the dogs in my foster home.  I absolutely love to play and go on daily adventures.  I also love to cuddle and watch TV with my humans.  I’m one of those lap dogs who is way too big to be a lap dog but I love getting petted and lying right beside my human.  Did I say how much I love being with my humans? I’m fully potty-trained and I’m well behaved when left alone in the house with my foster siblings.  Well –I did have one incident as a food thief. I managed to swipe my foster mom’s rib off a plate sitting on a low table.  I now know that is not OK.  I leave other dogs’ bowls alone and get along all day with everyone.  My foster mom says I am really good coming back on recall and I’m always the first in line to come into the house after my siblings and I have been out for an adventure.  She is working with me on other commands and she says I pick up training very quickly. She also says I don’t challenge fences or dig. I’m good going on car rides with my pack and solo on hikes and visits.  My ideal home would be somewhere I can stay active and busy and will be loved. I need a home with a good-sized yard to play in that has a secure 6-foot fence. I also need someone who can give me attention, interaction, and mental stimulation.  I would love to have another pup to play with in my new home.  Daily exercise is a must!  The adoption fee for Henry is $325.00.  Henry is neutered, current on his vaccinations and microchipped. If you are interested in making Henry a member of your family, and have the time, energy, and love to give him, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the on-line adoption application form under the Adopt tab.  A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.  If you have questions after you have completed the adoption application, contact Susan at wanbran@comcast.net. Please realize that all our dogs are placed in the most appropriate home for their individual needs.  We do not operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. Henry can be adopted up to 1400 miles from his foster home to eligible adopters.   May 4, 2025, 10:27 pm

Story
Betty is an approximately two-year old Brittany with a tail.  She is very energetic, loves people, is very affectionate, and gets along well with other dogs and cats. When Betty came into rescue she had a painful, chronically infected, congenitally blind eye.  After consultation with the vet, NBRAN had the defective eye removed and Betty has thrived now that she is out of pain.  Because of the blindness in her one eye, we will not place Betty in a home with young children or overly active dogs who could startle her.   Betty is a bigger brit and weights close to 50 pounds.  She is current on her vaccinations, HW negative, spayed, housebroken, and crate-trained.     Betty will need a home with a good-sized yard with a secure 6-foot physical fence so she can run her favorite zoomies.  A yard with trees and bushes for birds would be heaven for Betty because she is very birdy and loves to go on point.  She will need an active adopter or family that will provide the daily exercise she needs.  Betty would do well with a regular walker or runner.  Her new owner will be expected to continue working with her on leash work and manners.  The adoption fee for Betty $400.00 which helps to offset our vetting and allow NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members. If you are interested in making Betty a member of your family, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the on-line adoption application form under the Adopt tab.  Once the application has been reviewed, you will be contacted by your state coordinator.  A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.  Please realize that all our dogs are placed in the most appropriate home for their individual needs.  We do not operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. Betty is eligible to be transported through our canine railroad up to 1400 miles from central CA with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.March 16, 2025, 11:19 pm

Story
Hi everyone – I’m Susie, a very active 10-year-old.  I love my mom, Lucy, and I'm looking for a home where we can be adopted together. Why Susie and Lucy are such a perfect pair and will only be adopted together: They are bonded at the hip and literally don't like to go anywhere without each other.  They love being together and caring for one another. They love everybody! They are great with other dogs and humans of all ages. (Ok maybe they love cats a little too much to share a home with them.)  Golden years but with loads of energy!  Don't be fooled by their ages - while they are mature, sweet-natured, and well-socialized companion dogs, they both still have plenty of spunk and love to play, run, and explore even while they like their quiet time and snoozing by your side. They are Brittanys with the dial turned down just a tad.   Perfect for the Brittany lover. They represent all the classic traits of the breed. Cuddle masters? Check. Outdoor adventures? Yes please. Pulling on the leash? No way!  They have mastered good leash manners with their twice daily walks (mandatory for their well being and good manners).  Exploring their yard and lounging in the sun?  Absolutely.  Well-behaved and able to be left uncrated in the house when their parents are away?  Mastered.   These two will need a home with a good sized yard surrounded by a sturdy 5-foot physical fence that is secured at the bottom. They are spayed, current on their vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Susie’s corner: They call me Susie the Snuggler! I love to squish my way onto your lap or melt into bed with my mom Lucy.  I do have some arthritis so I’m on daily medication that really makes me feel so much better and allows me move like I’m years younger than I am. My heart of gold has a slight murmur, but the vet says I’m ok and it just needs to be monitored. We did lots of tests so we can keep a close eye on it as the years go by! Susie’s adoption fee is $250.00 (their combined adoption fee is $500.00).   Note Susie and Lucy are eligible for the senior-to-senior adoption fee of $150.00 per dog for qualified adopters ($300.00 combined senior-to-senior adoption fee). If you are interested in making Susie and Lucy members of your family, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the on-line application found under the Adopt tab. Once the application has been completed, you will be contacted by your state coordinator.  A phone interview, home visit and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.   Please realize that all our dogs are placed in the most appropriate home for their individual needs.  We do not operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. Susie and Lucy are eligible for our canine railroad and can be transported up to 1400 miles from Portland OR with the last leg (100) being driven by the adopter.  May 11, 2025, 4:07 pm

Story
Percy is a handsome 1.5 yo male Brittany who is looking for his loving, forever home.  Percy will do best in a calm household with adults-only or adults and older/mature children, where he can receive the love and attention he needs and craves.  Because of suspected abuse in his recent past, Percy can be skittish at first with humans until he knows he is safe.  Once he trusts you, he is your best friend but he will need someone with patience and understanding to reach that point.  Percy was attached my another dog and can initially be reactive with other dogs until he gets to know them.  His current mom is Brittany experienced and knows how to keep Percy calm and under her control when other dogs are around and he gets along extremely well with the other dogs in the home.  He will need an owner with similar experience who can give Percy the confidence he needs to stay calm and focused.   While Percy has his AKC Junior Hunt title, he does not need to hunt but does, and will, need daily interactive exercise with his new owner.  He will also need a home with a yard that has a secure 6 foot physical fence. Percy is neutered, current on his vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped.  Percy’s adoption fee is $400.00 which helps to offset our vetting and allow NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If you are interested in making Percy a member of your family, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the on-line adoption application form under the Adopt tab.  Once the application has been reviewed, you will be contacted by your state coordinator.  A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.  Once all three have been approved, we will begin the matching process.  Please realize that all our dogs are placed in the most appropriate home for their individual needs within the transport distance identified below.  We do not operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. Percy is eligible to be transported through our canine railroad up to 1400 miles from Western with the adopter being responsible for the last leg, usually less than 100 miles.    May 11, 2025, 3:45 pm

Hi everyone – I’m Lucy, a very mischievous 12 year-old.  I love my daughter Susie and we go everywhere together so I’m looking for a home where we can be adopted together. They are spayed, current on their vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Lucy’s corner: Not to brag, but my foster parents say I am pure sweetness.  I like to think of myself as the matriarch of the house:  confident, curious, and tail always wagging.  You’ll often find me  waddling around the house checking on everyone in the family.  Who are you calling old:  The vet says I’m in excellent health!  Twelve years young. Did I tell you I’m rather adventurous?  I love to explore the yard and initially looked for escape routes to go on walkabouts.  My twice daily walks with my foster parents have tempered my desire to roam, although I do need a yard with a fence that is secured at the bottom. Lucy’s adoption fee is $250.00 (their combined adoption fee is $500.00).  Note Lucy and Susie are eligible for the senior-to-senior adoption fee of $150.00 per dog for qualified adopters ($300.00 combined senior-to-senior adoption fee).   If you are interested in making Lucy and Susie members of your family, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the on-line application found under the Adopt tab. Story
Hi everyone!  My name is Triss.  I’m an adorable, one-year old weighing in at 30 lbs. I’m a very curious girl and love following you around the house to see what you’re doing and if I can help.  After an introduction I get along great with other dogs and love to play keep away and wrestle with my Brittany foster sister. I am good with all adults and well-mannered, mature children.  I haven’t been around cats so don’t know if I’d want them in my house. Like most Brittanys, I love hunt critters and will happily defend your yard by chasing and pointing out birds and squirrels.  My favorite toys are bones, stuffed toys, and balls.  After some daily exercise, I enjoy curling up on the couch next to you while you work, watch TV, or read a book.  I do occasionally grab a shoe to try and play with, but my foster family is helping me with my house/leash manners and training.  Despite my puppy tendencies, I am an excellent backseat pup and ride well in the car (properly tethered in, of course) and sleep in my kennel at night.  My ideal home would be somewhere I can stay active and busy. I need a home with a good-sized yard to play in that has a secure 6-foot fence. I also need someone who can give me attention, interaction, and mental stimulation. If I don’t have that, I can get a little mischievous.  I would love to have another pup to play with in my new home.  Daily exercise is a must! Overall, I have good instincts and am a quick learner. My perfect home would be an active family willing to show me patience and love as I work on learning to be the best dog I can be. The adoption fee for Triss is $400.  Triss is spayed, current on her vaccinations and microchipped. If you are interested in making Triss a member of your family, and have the time, energy, and love to give her, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the on-line adoption application form under the Adopt tab.  A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.  If you have questions after you have completed the adoption application, contact Patti at 801.641.4053. Please realize that all our dogs are placed in the most appropriate home for their individual needs.  We do not operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. Triss can be adopted up to 1400 miles from her foster home to eligible adopters. May 2, 2025, 10:59 pm
