Story
Bonnie is 7 years old, loves people, succumbs to cats, but may not get along with other dogs. She has only been with her birth sister. She is very loving and gives lots of kisses. She loves to fetch balls, cuddle with stuffed animals and needs her own blankie to cover her head while she sleeps (she has her own blankie). In fact, if you just drape a blanket over her, she will go to sleep just like a bird in a cage. She likes to stay close to you and is always happy to receive validated love and pets. She loves shorter walks; has a lower stamina. She is a trooper and always eager to please. She is very calm and laid back. She would be a great match for someone desiring a fulltime close companion. Bonnie was adopted at 6 months old with her sister, Clyde, from deplorable conditions. She has come a long way, but still not best to be near strange dogs. However, an experienced dog trainer could most likely bring her around. She seems very willing and extremely intelligent.

Story
Charlie is such a wonderful dog and my heart is breaking to have to find her a new home. We got Charlie almost 2 years ago when she was a puppy, we have 2 other dogs that she had gotten along din with for the last year and a half. We had to move into an apartment about a year ago for unforeseen circumstances and she’s just not getting enough stimulation and exercise. She has fought more than a few times with dogs she’s been around since she was a puppy… I’ve had to keep them separated now out of worry one will get hurt. I’m 100 percent sure this is a lack of stimulation, exercise and socialization. I walk her 3 times a day but she needs a yard and someone that’s constantly working with her. I would recommend someone that is highly active, has a yard and preferably no other animals. I have 3 kids who she absolutely loves loves and has been so good with. She has a very goofy and hyper personality, when she settles down she loves to lay on you or very near you. She’s loyal and protective

Story
Jack is a great dog who suffered a horrible accident. We found him off the streets a couple years ago, he is the best and sweetest dog you could have but he ended up slipping and paralyzing his back legs. He was able to regain his strength and can walk and stand again but he can’t not control his bladder or bowels. He is great with other pets and kids. We can’t not have him anymore with 2 kids under 2 it makes it difficult always having to clean up after him while trying to keep a baby away from it. We need someone who has the time and patience with Jack and his special needs.

Story
Jack was left behind at an exs house. Ive had him for 1.5 years. Now unfortunately im in a position to have to find him a new home. I have him courtesy posted on a dozen sites 2 months now. I ran out of time. Hes not doing well, big change. Hes never been in an apartment and i cant have him here. Jack is a good boy, but needs more discipline. He can sit and take treats nice. He is not very good on leash. He is approximately 8. He will tell you if he has to go potty. He is a great cuddle buddy. Hes good in the car. Fine with children, I have a daughter. Ive never been in this position and I cant leave him at the shelter. Hoping to find a patient and kind person to love him and take him home.

Story
I’m Tilly — and I’m on the hunt for something really special… A forever home with someone who loves big smiles, bigger hearts, and maybe the occasional tail-thwack to the shin. Sorry in advance — I just get so excited and my tail gets away from me! I might be a mix of bull terrier and rottweiler, or maybe just a blend of sunshine and wiggles — either way, I’m 100% lovable. I was found wandering the streets of Yuma, doing my best to stay cheerful. Animal control scooped me up, but my old family never came back. That’s okay, though — because now I’m in Phoenix with the amazing folks at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, and I’m ready to write my next chapter… with you. I am spayed so there will be no puppy drama here! I am fully vaccinated so no chance of those nasty puppy diseases! I am microchipped so I will never get lost again — unless it’s in your eyes! I’ve got a few little bald spots where my fur is growing back — the vet says I probably had a skin condition when I was younger, but I’m healing up beautifully and it doesn’t slow me down one bit! Here is what I bring to the table: I have a heart as big as Arizona I have a love for people — seriously, I’ve never met a stranger, everybody is my friend! I have a zest for life that makes every walk feel like a parade I have a tail that doubles as a percussion instrument and a coffee table clearer! I’d be great with older kids who can handle my happy energy. I might be a little too much for real small children. I haven’t met any cats yet, so I’m not sure how I’d feel about them. And I’ll be honest — I could use a little help with leash manners. I tend to pull because, well… the world is just so exciting! But I promise I’m a quick learner if you’re patient with me. Are you ready to meet your new best friend? Email my friends at mike@caaronline.org to set up a date to meet me. I’ll be waiting — tail wagging and heart wide open. Your future forever friend   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.   All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis. Central Arizona Animal Rescue is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation. We are located in San Tan Valley, AZ. If you have other dogs already, you must bring them for introduction prior to adoption.
