Why this pet is the one for you:Maggie is a sweet girl who is still new to us, so we're learning more about her every day! While we don't know much about her personality just yet, she's been gentle and curious so far. We're excited to watch her come out of her shell and find a loving home where she can continue to blossom. At SDHS:Maggie has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Adoption Event Saturday 11/04/23 from 12:30 to 3:00 at PETCO 1780 Garnet Ave - Pacific Beach, CA 92109 Come to meet our sweet and loving sweet pea Nina- she is about 10 months old, crate trained, leash trained - and she has so much love to give you. She was found sleeping in the trash, just so scared; so skinny, hungry and thirsty; she deserves a loving forever home. She is not a barker, but she is protective when needed. she gets along with the current dog pack she is with now at the sancturary - she loves to play with all dogs, small or large - :) Nena is a very happy camper; loves to run, and explore as well:) she will be a great family addition. I would love to have an active family, prefer to be the only pet; however, I can adjust with the proper training as I am still a baby:) My rescue is offering $100 dollars credit toward my basic training with Petco or if you wish to do it somewhere else we will refund $100 once the training is completed:) I am a love bug, and once tired out I am the bestest cuddler! She is gorgeous!! has this beautiful eye patched marked just so cute!! Bull Terriers are loyal and devotated to their families:) and protective. So, what are you waiting for? Why Denim is the one for you:Meet Denim, a high-energy, "jean-ius" of a pup who is ready to "zip" right into your heart! This handsome guy is a total social butterfly who bonds quickly and is always looking for his next adventure. He's a "rough-and-tumble" kind of friend who loves to show his affection with big, bouncy greetings and plenty of cuddles once he settles down. Denim is a smart boy who is incredibly motivated by food - treats, whipped cream and cheese are the keys to his heart and his focus! He's a great listener who responds well to redirection and consistent training. He's a "pro" explorer on walks, and while he can be a little "mouthy" or jumpy when he's extra excited, he settles beautifully once he gets into a rhythm. Because of his "bouncy" nature, he'd do best in a home with adults or older children (10+). Denim is a young, active guy, so he's looking for a home that can provide plenty of mental and physical enrichment - think puzzle toys, long walks and fun training sessions to keep his busy mind occupied. *Courtesy Post* Meet Espi. A gentle soul learning that the world can be kind. She is about 5-6 years old. She was found severely starved on an abandoned property, left to fend for herself. Despite everything she’s been through, Espi has shown us that her heart is still open. She is a very sweet girl, she just needs a little time to feel safe with new people. She is shy at first and takes some time to trust. The best way to win her over is actually to give her space and let her come to you. Fast movements toward her face or coming towards her too fast can make her nervous so patience and calm energy goes a long way with this girl. Once she realizes she’s safe, she will ask you for pets by giving you her paw. She is house trained, crate trained and does well with other dogs. While she isn’t necessarily looking for a constant playmate, she enjoys hanging out and coexisting with other dogs. Espi is very food motivated. She hasn’t quite mastered taking treats gently from your hand yet, but she absolutely loves playing catch with treats and will happily participate in a snack toss session. Because Espi is still learning to feel safe in the world, she would do best in a calm, adult only home. Older, respectful environments where people understand that trust takes time will allow her to thrive. She can live with or without other dogs. She just needs someone patient enough to let her unfold at her own pace.
