Story
Meet Indiana, a one-year-old male Shepherd mix with striking features and a charming personality. With his big, stand-up ears and handsome appearance, he is sure to catch the attention of anyone who crosses his path. Weighing in at a friendly 50 pounds, Indiana is the perfect size for those seeking a medium-sized canine companion. Favorite Things: Morning belly rubs! Long sniffy walks He loves stuffed toys and bones equally He really enjoys stuffing himself in a tiny dog bed Treats! Lots of them and all of them! He's not picky He loves to give hugs Snuffle mats and puzzle toys Car rides Snuggling on the couch Cues: Sit Down Stay (working on this) Leave it Come (we have been working on this and he's doing really well) Muzzle training Potty trained Loose leash walking How have I been doing in foster? "He has been an absolute joy to foster. He's such a good boy and someone would be so lucky to have him. We have been working on his socialization and he's doing very well. He's extremely intelligent and eager to learn new things. He loves it when his small foster brothers chase him around! " Although Indiana displays guarding tendencies towards other dogs, it's essential to emphasize that he does not exhibit guarding behavior towards people. He is affectionate and loving with his human companions and eagerly seeks their company. Indiana's devotion and loyalty make him an excellent choice for individuals or families seeking a companion who will provide unwavering love and companionship. Considering Indiana's specific needs and history, it's recommended that he be placed in a home without young children. To ensure safety and minimize any potential triggers for guarding behavior, a home with children aged 12 and above would be the most suitable match for Indiana. Older children who can understand and respect his boundaries will create an environment where he can thrive and feel secure. Indiana's future home should also provide outlets for his physical and mental stimulation. Regular exercise, interactive toys, and engaging activities will help channel his energy and ensure his overall well-being. Indiana is an all-star dog, and his adoption appointment includes a discussion with the training team, as well as a few enrichment goodies to help get you both off to a good start. To learn more about Indiana or to schedule an appointment to meet him, please email info@ahconnects.org (including your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to assist you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Story
Brucie is a very handsome, young boy looking for a forever home of his own. We believe he is a Boxer mix, sporting a very attractive brindle coat. We estimate Brucie’s date of birth at February 10, 2021. At the time of this posting he is just under two years old. He is about 60 lbs. Brucie loves people and is very affectionate. Given his size and energy level, he would not be an ideal canine companion for younger children. We expect children over the age of 12 would be ok. And of course, an all-adult home would be perfect for Brucie! Brucie is very active and energetic, and sometimes can get carried away with his play. He loves running in the secure, fenced yard of his foster home. He keeps himself entertained; he would not do well in a dog park or day care. An ideal home for Brucie is one in which he can thrive as an only dog, with a family experienced with larger dogs who sometimes can get out of hand. Brucie’s only “watch-out” is that he can be a bit of a resource guarder with his food and bones, but this issue can readily be managed as he gets to know his new family and as they learn more about him!! As is the case with all young, larger dogs, Brucie would greatly benefit from obedience training which can also be a bonding experience with his new family. No doubt, Brucie has the potential to evolve into the perfect pup, but is looking for that family willing to commit to him and provide him the forever home he deserves. Brucie is fully vetted, up to date on all vaccinations, neutered & microchipped and on year-round heartworm prevention. BAARK is located in the Chicago area; we adopt our dogs only local to the Chicago area. If you are interested in adding Brucie to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.

Bear is a very handsome, young boy looking for a forever home of his own. We believe he is a Boxer mix, sporting a very attractive dark brindle coat. We estimate Bear’s date of birth at February 10, 2021. At the time of this posting he is just under two years old. He is about 60 lbs. Bear loves people and he also loves eating almost anything. He is not so much a chewer, as a dog who likes to eat rocks, sticks, toys. As such, his new family will need to be vigilant to ensure Bear does not get himself into trouble, ingesting non-food items! Bear is active and energetic, typical of a big, young dog, and sometimes can get carried away with his play. He loves running in the secure, fenced yard of his foster home. He keeps himself entertained (but, watch out for him eating rocks, sticks, etc!!); he would not do well in a dog park or day care. We suggest he be an only dog. Given his size and energy level, Bear would not be an ideal canine companion for younger children. We expect children over the age of 12 would be ok. And of course, an all-adult home would be perfect for Bear! An ideal home for Bear is one in which he can thrive as an only dog, with a family experienced with larger dogs who sometimes can get out of hand. The family will also need to be vigilant when it comes to Bear’s tendency to seek out interesting things to eat. As is the case with all young, larger dogs, Bear would greatly benefit from obedience training which can also be a bonding experience with his new family. No doubt, Bear has the potential to evolve into the perfect pup, but is looking for that family willing to commit to him and provide him the forever home he deserves. Bear is fully vetted, up to date on all vaccinations, neutered & microchipped and on year-round heartworm prevention. To learn how you can add this handsome young boy to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. Story
Meet Blair! Blair was adopted from God's Dogs Rescue as a puppy. Her adopted mom loved her very much until she passed away. Instead of continuing to treasure this sweet pup, the family tossed her. Now at 6 years of age, Blair was picked up as a stray in Hondo. Somewhere along the way, she was massively overfed, but Blair has already lost almost 20# in her new foster home. She has progressed from getting out of breath walking from the car into the house to zooming joyfully in the backyard with the rest of the pack! She also excels at catching popcorn! Blair has a bit more weight to lose to be ready for bikini season, but she is well on her way, having lost almost 30 lbs so far. Blair is a stage 5 cuddlebug. All she wants to do is be with her family. Her big brown soulful eyes, crooked lower teeth & lips-to-"teef sticking "problem are sure to melt your heart. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Hi, I'm Persephone. Thanks for taking a look at me! Me and my 8 siblings were born to Zara and sweet and loving Pit Bull Terrier mix. She has been a great Mom but I am ready to move on and find my forever family. I am super loving and love to held. Soon I will be too big for that, my foster Mom tells me! I am on the shy side, so a quieter home that can slowly acclimate me to the world would be appreciated. I know my cute face is irresistible, but remember that I will take up lots of your time and attention while I grow into an awesome adult dog. Socialization, training (including house training), and exercise are just a few of the things I will look to you for. Chewing, teething, and learning what is Okay and not Okay to put in my mouth are all part of the puppy experience. And, be prepared for the time and money for frequent trips to the vet during the first few months so I can get up to date on my boosters and vaccines. But most of all, be prepared for all of the LOVE, puppy kisses, and joy I will bring into your life. If you are up for the challenge and the fun, stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Hi, I'm Arwen and I am so glad you are taking a look at me. I am a 70-pound ball of energy and personality! I would love a family that can keep up with me. I would prefer to be the only dog in your home, but I have the potential for playdates. I've made friends with the kennel staff and training team. I would prefer to have a small group of friends, sometimes the little humans can be scary! Would you like to be my friend? Arwen is working on her basic cues and loose leash walking. This girl LOVES food and toys. She is very motivated to train! I would love to be a hiking buddy, and outside is my favorite and I like to parkour! Rock, benches, tree stumps, you name it, I want to jump on it. My favorite things: Being outside! I love to soak in the sun, smell all the smells, and adventure with my trainers. Cream cheese and chicken are my favorite treats Stuffy toys Car rides Enrichment boxes Booty scratches (once we a friends) Cues that I know: Sit, down Touch Working on muzzle training Loose leash walking Relaxation Arwen is an All-Star dog! Her adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and she will go home with his very own no-pull-harness and a few enrichment goodies to help get her off to a good start!
