Story
We received Nora from a family in Aurora who's dogs had an unexpected litter of puppies. Nora is about 3 years old. We are looking and hoping to put Nora in a home that she is the single dog. She doesn't seem to get along with other dogs as she tries to be the dominant dog and will try to assert herself when meeting other dogs as an adult. As a puppy it was never a problem but as she's grown we've had to limit her interactions with stranger dogs. Nora is high energy, she loves to work and play. We took her through a decent amount of training as a puppy and it has stuck with her still. She knows a lot of commands and is typically very well behaved. She is a good dog but we have lost trust with her in our household and hopes she can be a great addition to someone if she is the only dog in the home.

Story
Meet Your Future Companion: Barney Hello there, potential forever family! I'm Barney, a charming and dashing male dog with the heart of a Beagle and the spunk of a Rat Terrier. I weigh in at a perfect 30 pounds and sport a dashing appearance, complete with my unique feature-a handsome stubby tail that's always ready for a wagging good time. Life has thrown me a bit of a curveball by introducing me to heartworm, but fear not! The amazing clinic staff believes that the most nurturing and enduring place for a dog like me during treatments and recovery is with a loving family like yours. If you're considering adopting me, rest assured that you won't be alone in this journey. The clinic staff will be your steadfast companions, guiding you every step of the way. They're here to answer your questions, provide support, and ensure that my path to renewed health is smooth and successful. The heartworm treatment process typically spans three months and involves some easy-peasy at-home steps to guarantee my safety as I mend. The final step is a follow-up test six months after treatment initiation, just to make sure I'm back in tip-top shape. Now, I know heartworm sounds daunting, but the clinic staff is brimming with confidence about my full recovery. Woohoo! And here's a tidbit you should know: Heartworm can only spread from one critter to another through those pesky mosquitoes, so there's no need to worry about direct transmission. Speaking of getting to know me, the clinic ran a guard test, and here's the scoop: I'm a well-behaved guy, but I had a minor hiccup around food. I was all polite and charming until that pretend hand entered my food bowl. So, it's essential to remember the importance of giving me my space during meal times. It's all about harmony, folks! Now, onto my interactions with my fellow four-legged pals. I'm all about politeness and tried to kick off some playtime with another dog, but I also made it clear that I enjoy my own space. So, a young, playful pup might not be my cup of tea, but a calm or senior dog could be a perfect match. Before we finalize anything, a dog-to-dog introduction is a must-it's all about finding the perfect fit! So, lovely humans, are you ready to welcome me into your home and heart? I'm excited to embark on this journey with you, promising endless tail wags, love, and unforgettable moments. Let's conquer this challenge together and emerge stronger than ever. With paws and love, Barney Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email bloomingdale@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 90, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Story
Chucho is ready to find her forever home! Introducing Chucho, a dynamic 2-year-old pitbull mix whose passion for treats and love for learning set him apart. With boundless energy and an eagerness to please, Chucho is ready to become your faithful companion and devoted student. Chucho's enthusiasm for treats is second to none - he's a true connoisseur of delicious rewards! This trait makes training a breeze, as he's not just a quick learner, but a determined one. Teaching him new tricks and commands is an adventure that he embraces wholeheartedly, showcasing his intelligence and love for mental stimulation. While Chucho's learning abilities shine, he does have some leash reactivity and can become overstimulated in certain situations. However, his enthusiasm for learning means he's open to training that can help him manage these reactions. With consistent guidance and patience, Chucho's leash manners can greatly improve, making walks and outdoor adventures more enjoyable for both of you. His perfect forever home would be one with at least one active human who likes to spend quality time working/playing with Chucho, and ideally another dog sibling for company and partner-in-crime-time. Socializing is important for Chucho, so a forever home that's willing to put him in daycare once or twice a week or have regular playtime with other dogs will make him a super happy boy. He does well with structure and positive reinforcement and definitely picks up on his human's vibes. He's got a big heart and an adventurous spirit just waiting to be nurtured in the right forever home. Are you ready to make Chucho part of your family? Apply to adopt here: sayvanimals.org/adopt (PLEASE NOTE: Despite what PetFinder, AdoptAPet and other aggregation software systems state - the first step is to submit an application via the link above, NOT send a message through their platforms. Story
When you eat your Thanksgiving turkey- will you think of me?? I will be right next to you trying to get it... NOW will you think of me?? LOL, ok, I kid.... I do love turkey though :) I am Wishbone, and I am a bull terrier/beagle mixed boy with a story to tell! I am so smart like a bull terrier- somewhat stubborn, like a bull terrier, but I follow my NOSE like a beagle! I am super cute, only about 40# and I am pretty active. I love to have a hard playing buddy, no small animals (like kitties) as I have a prey drive- like a bull terrier.. you see where I am going with this, right?? I would love have an active family, kids older than grade school as I love a moving target and smaller ones don't quite understand that. I am a love bug, and once tired out I am the bestest cuddler! So, what are you waiting for? Look me up, take me on adventures when you apply to adopt me! ADOPT, DON'T SHOP!!!! MY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. We have an AKC Registered Bull Terrier puppy that was born 11/15/2022 and now weighs 60 pounds. Meet Floki. He is fully vetted, to include rattlesnake vaccine and Proheart 12 Preventative. His adoption fee is $50 0. You will be able to apply at www.adoggie4you.org.   Floki is well socialized. He has been going to dog parks since he was a puppy. He was living with a small dog and 4 other bull terriers. He is submissive and just wants to be loved on and play. Floki is NOT an apartment dog. He needs to have room to run around or get out through a doggy door when he is left alone so would love a family with a yard. He has been raised very well by the breeder who relinquished him. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 30, 2023, 11:22 am
