Hi! I’m Kylie, your future best friend and professional heart-stealer. I’m a classic Old English Bulldog girl—full of personality, a little goofy, and always ready to make you smile. I’ve got the important stuff down: I’m house trained, potty trained, and kennel trained (pretty impressive, right?). I love my routine, especially when it includes food—mealtime is basically my favorite event of the day! Treats? Don’t even get me started… I get SO excited. I’m happiest just being near my person. Whether you’re working, relaxing on the couch, or doing your thing around the house, I’ll be right there—either watching you with my sweet little face, chewing on my favorite bone, or getting cozy with my bed or pillow (I might even carry it around so I’m comfy wherever I go!). When I’m happy (which is often), my whole body gets involved—especially my wiggly little butt. It’s kind of my signature move. I’m not much of a barker, and I do really well with people. I prefer slow introductions with smaller, calm dogs, but honestly, I’d be totally content being your one and only. I really shine in a home where I can soak up all your love. Itzy Bitzy — Foster Dog extraordinaire!! Itzy Bitzy is a very sweet, loving Bull Terrier who absolutely adores her humans. She is generally a very quiet, well-mannered girl, although recently she has found her bark and has started using it a bit more than before. She is not reliably house or kennel trained, as she does not signal when she needs to go outside. While she does know how to use a doggy door, she will still have accidents in the home. It also appears she may have been previously trained to use puppy pads, as she often seeks out soft surfaces such as towels, blankets, and dog beds to urinate on. Because of this, she will need continued guidance and supervision in a home environment. Itzy is very food motivated and has mastered the art of sitting politely for snacks. In fact, if you have food in your hand, she may decide to sit before you even ask! She loves attention and is playful when you engage with her, but she isn’t overly energetic or demanding. She does best as the only dog in the home. Itzy is dog-selective and can become extremely reactive around other dogs, so a home without other pets would be the safest and happiest environment for her. Aside from her occasional new interest in barking, she is still generally a quiet girl in the home. Itzy does have some eye conditions that will likely require lifelong medication, but she doesn’t let that stop her from being her sweet, playful self. She would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving, affectionate dog who enjoys being close to her people and appreciates a good snack! Josiah is a loving, goofy, stubborn guy who is happiest when he’s hanging out with his people—or taking a well-earned nap! He absolutely loves people and will happily soak up all the attention you’re willing to give. When he really wants your attention, he makes the most adorable Chewbacca-like sounds. Fair warning: when Josiah gets excited, he can be enthusiastic enough to knock a grown man over! Josiah is potty trained and does well in his kennel. He walks nicely on a leash when heading out for potty breaks and exercise. He’s also a champion road-trip companion and seems perfectly content cruising along with his people. He’s working on commands and hand signals, although, true to his stubborn personality, he sometimes feels that following directions is more of a suggestion than a requirement. He loves bones, keeping an eye on the neighborhood, and generally being his family’s personal security guard. He’s a big, lovable goofball with a lazy side and a strong protective streak. Because Josiah is deaf, his family will need to communicate with him through hand signals and other visual cues. He is smart and capable, but consistency and patience will be important. Josiah does have some specific needs that his future family will need to understand and be prepared to manage. He is protective of his people and his kennel and does not do well with other dogs entering what he considers his territory. He can also become growly and snappy around other dogs or people when high-value treats are involved. For this reason, careful management, appropriate boundaries, and continued training will be important. Josiah also has significant medical needs. He has allergies and has had a portion of his small intestine removed, so he requires a very specific diet. He takes daily supplements with his food and needs daily wipe-downs to help manage his allergies. He has completed treatment for heartworm disease and will need monthly heartworm prevention year-round for the rest of his life. Despite all of that, Josiah has so much love to give. He’s a funny, affectionate, loyal companion who loves his people, loves his naps, and has plenty of personality packed into one goofy package. When she’s comfortable, Opal is happy to settle in and relax, but she also enjoys following her people around the house like a loyal little shadow. Welcome Honey to CCPAL foster Program. Honey is a 3 year old Boxer mixed dog. She is potty trained. We think Honey survived the flood in Kerrville. A good samaritan has taken her in and is giving her good nutrition and love until we find her forever home. She was really scratched up and had a wound on her front left leg. She will be spayed soon and she is going to the vet again for a follow up on her leg. Our guess is it may have gotten broken and healed back on it’s own due to what she has gone through. She is good on a leash, very loving and bonds deeply. She lives with 5 cats right now but she is much too interested and we feel her best home would be without cats. She loves all people and no one is a stranger. She is good with dogs her size and is an energetic girl. Her best home would be with an active and ourdoorsy family that wants a great companion to join them in their outdoor fun. She is looking wonderful and filling out nicely in her new foster home. She lost some muscle around her bum area due to the length of time she was without food. Despite this, she would make an amazing family pet. She would love to be the only dog and be the center of her families attention. She weighs about 40 pounds and is a taller dog but medium weight. She is great in a car and would make a great dog in settings where lots of people are around. She is lower in shedding. She will be getting spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast.
