Welcome Honey to CCPAL foster Program. Honey is a 3 year old Boxer mixed dog. She is potty trained. We think Honey survived the flood in Kerrville. A good samaritan has taken her in and is giving her good nutrition and love until we find her forever home. She was really scratched up and had a wound on her front left leg. She will be spayed soon and she is going to the vet again for a follow up on her leg. Our guess is it may have gotten broken and healed back on it’s own due to what she has gone through. She is good on a leash, very loving and bonds deeply. She lives with 5 cats right now but she is much too interested and we feel her best home would be without cats. She loves all people and no one is a stranger. She is good with dogs her size and is an energetic girl. Her best home would be with an active and ourdoorsy family that wants a great companion to join them in their outdoor fun. She is looking wonderful and filling out nicely in her new foster home. She lost some muscle around her bum area due to the length of time she was without food. Despite this, she would make an amazing family pet. She would love to be the only dog and be the center of her families attention. She weighs about 40 pounds and is a taller dog but medium weight. She is great in a car and would make a great dog in settings where lots of people are around. She is lower in shedding. She will be getting spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. I am a stunning, wrinkly-faced young adult female Belgian Malinois/Boxer mix with an adorable underbite who’s the perfect mix of energetic and relaxed. I am an unpredictable gal with a high prey drive so cats are not a good fit for me; I’m reactive when it comes to other dogs or unknown/sudden sounds like bikes whizzing by etc.; and I’m a pack follower so if there’s a fight, I may feel compelled to join the chaos. That said, I went to a training facility where there were many other dogs and I did great so I think with time, patience, and continued training I may overcome these ‘quirks’ of mine!! Hee, hee! Anyway, my favorite activities include cuddling with my people; going for leashed walks; snoozing on the couch; eating; playing with squeaky toys; chewing on bones/sticks; chasing the cat; chilling with my canine sib; running zoomies; and barking at strangers outside! I don’t like a lot of commotion and have been known to bite if someone comes into the house when foster mom is not home. I am, however, a very smart girl who will not only give myself a kenneled ‘time-out’ if I’m barking too much but I am potty trained and I know commands like “sit”, “down”, “kennel/crate”, and “heel”! Seriously, how brilliant am I!?! I am a great listener too which makes training a lot easier! Hee, hee!! I know that I’m a bit unpredictable right now but I’m still young and I really am a sweetheart who simply wants to find unconditional love in my own furever home with a patient family who will NEVER give up on me! Welcome Salem to CCPAL Rescue. Salem is a 4-year old Rottie/Boxer mix that weighs about 65 pounds. She is beautiful gun metal grey with a brownish tint. She bonds very deeply like the Rottie to her person. She gets along with other dogs but she wants to be the only one for her particular person. She is on the quiet side as far as barking goes. She is lower on the shedding scale and has a nice soft coat. She has an adorable underbite. I think she would like to be a home body type dog and be around her person a lot. She would love her human to work from home or only work some days. She kennels up just by asking her to kennel up. She is very smart and takes direction well. She is a little shy in new settings and not all that interested in meeting new people. If you like the Rottie personality or the Dachshund personality you will like this dog. It is enjoyable to have a dog that is super loyal and not everybody’s dog. She would be great for an older single person or older couple that want a nice companion around the house. She would also be good for someone that is younger but more of a homebody time as well. She is super beautiful and is a head turner in looks. She is spayed, vaccinated and ready for her forever home. Meet Bailey, a joyful, full-body-wiggle kind of girl who seems to have never met a stranger—or a dog—she didn’t immediately love! Bailey approaches life with enthusiasm, a wagging tail, and the firm belief that everyone she meets is her newest best friend. Playtime is Bailey’s specialty. Fetch is absolutely her jam, but she’s also happy to chase, wrestle with her dog friends, splash around in water, or even enjoy a bath. She can play hard for 20–30 minutes before happily crashing for a cozy nap and recharging for the next adventure. Bailey is just as affectionate as she is playful. She loves being with her people, leans in for pets, and will happily flop over for belly rubs. She also adores other dogs and learns from their cues, making canine friendships a big part of her happy-go-lucky personality. Like any young dog, Bailey is still learning her manners. She’s very enthusiastic about greeting people and sometimes forgets that jumping isn’t the preferred way to say hello, but she’s eager to learn and responds well to guidance from both people and other dogs. Bailey is housetrained and does well when her people keep her routine consistent. She sleeps quietly in her crate and keeps it clean overnight. She already knows “sit” and is making great progress with leash manners, although she still occasionally remembers that a leash can look suspiciously like a puppy toy! Loud noises and household sounds don’t seem to bother Bailey much, and she’s an adaptable, fun-loving girl who is ready to keep learning and growing with her family. 👑 Meet Cinderella — aka Bella! 👑 Cinderella may have a princess name, but her favorite place in the kingdom is definitely the couch! Bella is a sweet, low-key girl who believes life is best enjoyed with her favorite person nearby. She loves following her person around the house, curling up beside them, or simply sitting at their feet with her signature “I just like being near you” stare. Once she decides you’re her person, she opens up beautifully and loves being part of the family. Don’t let her laid-back nature fool you—Bella has a wonderfully goofy side! She recently discovered that toys are pretty darn fun and has become a big fan of her squeaky rope. Fetch? Absolutely. Tug-of-war? You bet. Holding it in her mouth and “corn-on-the-cobbing” it? Apparently, that’s the real entertainment! She also loves flopping upside down, where her sticking-out ears and little teeth make her look like an adorable little bat. Burrowing her head into pillows, rolling around in the grass, and army-crawling through it are just a few of her other silly specialties. Bella is fully house-trained, trustworthy when left home alone, and a great car rider. She knows “sit” and enjoys walks, but she doesn’t need to be on the go all day. A few leisurely outings followed by plenty of couch time sounds like a pretty perfect day to her. She is also generally quiet in the apartment, so shared walls shouldn’t be an issue. When it comes to new people, Bella can be a little shy at first, particularly around some men. She may give a warning bark if someone comes too close before she’s had a chance to feel comfortable. With patience, space, and a gentle introduction, she warms up nicely and has done well meeting women, men, and children. Bella is still learning her doggie social skills, too. She is very interested in other dogs and can become quite excited when meeting them, especially while on leash. When playing, she can be enthusiastic and a little pushy, getting right into another dog’s personal space and sometimes playfully nipping at feet or necks. Since she has only met one other dog so far, her foster is still learning more about her preferences. She would likely do best with a confident, tolerant dog who enjoys active play and can appropriately communicate boundaries while Bella continues learning her canine manners. She may also benefit from continued work on her leash excitement around other dogs. Bella has shown a strong reaction to small animals outdoors, including lunging and wanting to chase bunnies. Because of that, a home without cats or other small animals would be the safest fit for her. Bella does have some ongoing allergy needs. She currently takes daily Apoquel each morning and uses a medicated shampoo twice a week to help keep her itchiness under control. Her specific allergies aren't known at this time, but this routine has been helping her feel more comfortable, and her future family will need to be committed to continuing her care. If you’re looking for a sweet, funny, mostly easygoing companion who is happiest lounging beside her person but has a delightfully goofy side once she feels at home, Bella may just be your happily-ever-after. ❤️👑
