Welcome Honey to CCPAL foster Program. Honey is a 3 year old Boxer mixed dog. She is potty trained. We think Honey survived the flood in Kerrville. A good samaritan has taken her in and is giving her good nutrition and love until we find her forever home. She was really scratched up and had a wound on her front left leg. She will be spayed soon and she is going to the vet again for a follow up on her leg. Our guess is it may have gotten broken and healed back on it’s own due to what she has gone through. She is good on a leash, very loving and bonds deeply. She lives with 5 cats right now but she is much too interested and we feel her best home would be without cats. She loves all people and no one is a stranger. She is good with dogs her size and is an energetic girl. Her best home would be with an active and ourdoorsy family that wants a great companion to join them in their outdoor fun. She is looking wonderful and filling out nicely in her new foster home. She lost some muscle around her bum area due to the length of time she was without food. Despite this, she would make an amazing family pet. She would love to be the only dog and be the center of her families attention. She weighs about 40 pounds and is a taller dog but medium weight. She is great in a car and would make a great dog in settings where lots of people are around. She is lower in shedding. She will be getting spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Buster was found running down the road. We found out that he was adopted from a shelter, but the lady couldn't keep him, so she gave him away and apparently, they didn't want him either. He's a good boy just looking for his forever family. He is 5 months old and gets along with everyone. If you would like to add Buster to your home, please respond by using the big black button marked " Ask About Me" and we will send you an application. These dogs are being fostered in TN but included in your adoption fee is transport to a location near you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal-friendly transport on the road.

Stella is a beautiful girl. She is very affectionate and loves everyone. She loves to play and hug. We are working on teaching her not to jump. She just wants to be touching someone all the time. She is walking great on a leash and learning basic commands. She gets along with other dogs and would do well with an active family. Her adoption fee is $250 and is currently in Tennessee. She can be transported. We use Rescue Riders Pet Transport, (rescueridersllc.net), the most animal-friendly transport on the road.

Rue is an 8-month-old Boxer/Hound mix who wakes up every day ready for adventure and joy. She’s about 35–40 lbs of pure charm, wrapped in a gorgeous brindle coat that earns her compliments everywhere she goes. She also has a white mark on her neck that looks like a little heart! Rue mastered potty training quickly and politely sits by the door when she needs to go out. She’s also crate trained, snoozing quietly through the night until she pops up in the morning with a wagging tail, a toy delivery, and a full-body hug. Smart and eager to please, Rue knows sit, stay, and come. She waits patiently for her meals and understands her release cue like a pro. Rue is food motivated which makes training a breeze. This girl LOVES her toys - especially balls. She entertains herself by inventing little obstacle courses out of pillows and furniture. While the vacuum isn’t her favorite, hand her a snuffle mat and she’ll forget it exists. She rides beautifully in the car and is always happy to tag along for an outing. Rue is wonderful with kids and gets along well with other dogs. She hasn’t met cats yet, but her gentle curiosity suggests she would be just fine. She recently discovered her voice, though she uses it sparingly and quiets down quickly. Most of all, Rue is a total companion dog - your little shadow, following you from room to room just to stay close. When she settles in for couch snuggles, her tiny snores are the cutest thing in the world. She’s down for anything and ready to be someone’s best friend! This animal is a Courtesy Listing. Jill was found in a ditch on the side of a country road with her brother Jack. While she can be a little shy at first, she’s quickly gaining confidence and starting to shine. Jill is great with other dogs, cats, and kids, making her a wonderful fit for just about any family. She’s still learning how to walk on a leash, but her playful, high-energy personality really comes alive in the yard—she loves to pounce, toss sticks in the air, chase balls, and wrestle with her doggy friends. He has a face that says “I’ve seen things,” paired with the joyful enthusiasm of a baby who absolutely has not. He adores cuddling his foster mom, chasing his puppy foster sister around the yard, and proudly parading his squeaky toys like trophies of great importance. His favorite hobby might actually be staring deeply into your eyes as if he’s reading your aura, followed immediately by forgetting what he was doing and zooming off to chase something imaginary. He’s friendly with every human and dog he’s ever met, and while he hasn’t been tested with cats, he gives off “gentle giant in training” energy, so odds are good he’d love them too. At 42 pounds, he’s still very much a puppy at heart, curious about everything and always ready for playtime. Toys are a must, and variety keeps him happy since he can get bored quickly. He’s learning how to settle down with the help of his crate, which has become his quiet space for naps when he’s overstimulated. Howdy does well in the crate both at home and away, and he’s already mastered basic commands like “Sit,” “Stay,” “Come,” and “Down.” He’s treat-motivated and eager to learn, though his high energy means he’ll need a patient, consistent leader to guide him. Walks are one of his favorite activities, though leash manners are still a work in progress—he’s strong and can pull, but he’s improving with practice. He’s potty trained, enjoys chewing bones, and loves exploring new spaces with slow introductions. Loud noises can startle him, but he bounces back quickly. Howdy is goofy, playful, and protective, with a big heart that’s ready to bond with the right family. Because of his size and energy, he’ll do best with older or considerate kids and may not be a match for small dogs. He’s looking for a home that can match his enthusiasm, provide structure, and celebrate his silly, lovable spirit. I may be shaped like a bulldog mix, but I strut like a runway model with short legs and a big personality. At about 45 pounds of pure wiggle, I’m the perfect size to wrestle with my dog friends, chase tennis balls, and then plop right into your lap for a cuddle session. My favorite hobbies include collecting tennis balls like they’re rare treasures, rocking cozy sweaters in the chilly Minnesota weather, and practicing my zoomies in the yard. I love wrestling matches with dogs and humans alike, and I play hard but love even harder. I’m kennel trained, leash trained, potty trained, and car-ride approved. Basically, I’m the total package. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  Bulldogs, pugs, and Boston terriers, Brussels Griffons, Pekingese and others are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure this breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average brachycephalic breed owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs. In addition to other surgeries, this dog may have had surgery on their nares and soft palate to improve the quality of their breathing.  This will be partially reflected within her adoption fee. These breeds are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for these breeds usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires a separate application and an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.
