Story
I was surrendered to the shelter when my owner could no longer keep me. I am a sweetie pie and I have done well with some other dogs in monitored play groups. It is unknown how I might behave around cats. I`ll need slow, monitored introductions to new people or pets in a home. Visit this page for more information about properly introducing pets.Consider adopting me today! Foster notes on Ivy:`Ivy is such a sweetie! We did a three mile hike at Occoneechee Mountain and she did great. She pulls on the leash a bit, but no lunging. I had no trouble keeping her under control. During our car rides, she sat still and enjoyed having the window open a bit. Once she got to know me, she was affectionate and like to give kisses. She loved the dog bed at my house and nuzzled into the corners and rolled around. She also liked getting belly rubs and cuddled with me while I read a book. Favorite thing: Her sweet nature. She listens and obeys and is affectionate.``Ivy is such a sweet dog! She is also very calm and gentle. We took her for a 4 mile hike at Carolina North Forest and found that she is an excellent hiker. She likes to go at an easy trot, which is a fast walk for my husband and me, which is what we like. She didn`t jump on us or bark at all. She also easily passed other people and dogs, although it was clear that she wanted to meet the other dogs. Ivy is also excellent in the car and sat calmly in the back seat on the way to the hike. On the way back to the shelter she lay down and put her head in my lap, hinting that she may be a good snuggler too. She is such a sweet girl it is hard to imagine a home where she would not fit in.`
