Story
**Now fostered in Portland, OR** Meet Lucille — the one-year-old dynamo of love, laughter, and wiggles with ears so enormous and perky, they practically have their own zip code! This tan-and-white beauty with the cutest little black freckles around her eyes is a puppy powerhouse with a heart full of love and the goofiest, sweetest personality you could ever meet. She’s affectionate, playful, and totally adores people — but don’t worry, she can also chill like a pro when it’s time to snuggle or relax. Whether you’re giving belly rubs, tossing treats, or just hanging out on the couch, Lucille is happiest when she’s by your side, soaking up all the love she can get. We think she's a bull terrier/shepherd mix, but with rescue it's always a guess! Lucille is a social butterfly with her doggy friends too — she loves playtime, zoomies, body bumps, and even little acrobatic leaps over her pals’ backs. She knows how to match the energy of her buddies, taking breaks when the confident ones do, but she’s always ready to turn the fun up to full-on puppy party mode when the moment calls for it. She’s super smart, treat-motivated, and eager to learn, which makes her leash training and house manners a fun challenge — plus, she’ll probably charm you into giving her extra treats just for being cute (which is basically her superpower). Go watch her video to see her in action! https://youtu.be/JdCqya2AGJo?si=iAKT5EhJjk6BqCK0 Lucille’s perfect home is one that can keep up with her puppy energy while also giving her the space to relax and snuggle. She’d thrive with a confident medium-energy dog buddy to play, run, and adventure with — someone who can join her in zoomies, wrestling matches, and backyard sprints. She’s cat-tolerant as long as the kitty is calm, and she’d do best with older kids or adults who understand that while she’s playful and exuberant, she also needs some chill time to recharge. This girl is basically a living, breathing adventure buddy: perfect for hikes, runs, walks, trips to the park, or spontaneous play sessions in the yard. She’s also an expert lap-sitter, belly-rub enthusiast, and professional snuggle partner when the adventures are done. Lucille’s loving, silly, and full of personality — she’ll make you laugh, steal your heart, and bring endless joy to every day. In short: if you’re looking for a loyal, goofy, energetic, snuggly, treat-loving, zoomie-expert best friend who can play hard, love harder, and chill like a champ, Lucille is your girl. 💖 Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? I'm Roobie, I'm a happy 8 year old clown full of lightning fast zoomies and those classic bull terrier spins. Life excites me. I know usual commands (sit, stay, down, come, leave it, and more). Teach me new ones, I like treats. Walkies are great! But not necessary. I swim great! Mom says I'm a swell companion in a woodshop. I get along with the my extended dog family. Is someone at the door? I sound tough so you feel safe but I'm not a real barker. I'm a princess, loving my sweaters, soft dog beds, watching TV, and companionship. I understand if you have to go to work all day, I'll be cool by myself no problem, but I'll be so happy when you get home! I love my family and they love me (since I was 1 y/o) but I need to adopt a new family because my human has a disability and my spins occasionally knock into her but her disability is worsening kinda fast now. I'm a good girl. I'd do well in a loving active house, with or without another dog or with older kids that won't fall.

Story
7.5 months old, adopted her at 3 months. Found abandoned in a park, brought to a neighbor, who put her up on NextDoor and five hours later she came home with me! She is the sweetest, silliest, FUNNIEST girl -- probably 5 of 7 days a week, I end up with either my face or abs sore from laughing. She needs new people because she has turned out to be a high-energy girl. Based on her appearance and vibe, neighbor lady and I were thinking pitty/labby. I've had both and known several others well, but it soon became clear that we were working with something else. Cue the DNA test: 42% boxer, 38% pit, 13% Staffy, 7% supermutt. I am now having a significant and debilitating health issue, single/live alone, and am just not able to give her as much exercise and interaction as she needs. We have given it our all, she's just not happy, and it breaks my heart. She needs 2+ people -- solo person having sick/off days really affects her. She will absolutely THRIVE with more people/activity.

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Teeka, a 1 year 7 month old spayed female, Boxer mix, 42lbs. She is in a foster home in Houston, TX and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! The amazing Teeka is on the hunt for her forever home. She specializes in best friending with an emphasis on playing! She currently lives with several larger dogs and is learning to respect their boundaries. She LOVES to play with them, but does need some help realizing when her foster siblings are ready to stop. She has not met any cats, so we’re not sure how she’d react to a feline sibling. Her foster mom says she’s done well meeting new human friends and is learning not to jump on them. Because of this and her high energy levels, we do recommend a home with older dog savvy kids. This smartie is house and crate trained! She sleeps quietly in her crate and is kenneled whenever her foster family is out of the house. We don’t recommend leaving her out unsupervised as she may help herself to whatever she finds in the kitchen. Teeka’s love for food is next level and she will try to sneak a bite from you or the other dog’s bowls, but has shown no signs of resource guarding. She is still working on her leash manners, but is getting better every day! She gets a little too excited when she sees other dogs, but is learning to calm down and continue on her walk. This happy girl absolutely loves toys! She knows where the toy basket is and will get one so you can join in the fun. She’s a huge fan of fetch and tug of war! Teeka is learning the joys of relaxing too. She loves to lay on your legs and get some pets and give some kisses. She’s happy just to be near her humans. Teeka is a young pup with boundless energy that will thrive in a home with a yard, daily exercise, training and patience. She’s a goofy, happy, loving girl and with just one look into those pretty doe eyes, your heart will melt! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? Story
**Please note this is pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to OR for you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** In an unfair turn of events, Trudy found herself in need of rescue when she was surrendered by a breeder. She is good with other dogs, however she is possessive of food and toys around other dogs. So, we feel she would do best in a home by herself. Trudy does fine on walk with other dogs and hanging out with them as long as there is no toys or food involved. She loves hanging out with people and she is good with kids. Trudy truly loves to explore and is always up for an adventure, so if you're looking for an energetic and fun-loving dog, then she is the one for you. Trudy deserves a new leash on life and can't wait to start the next leg of her journey with you! The vet said she is around 3 years old, but we think she might be older. She is 41 lbs and an english bulldog. Interested in becoming this pup’s forever home? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs — for them, one application will be fine. Because we have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news, and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions finding our fur babies the most loving homes. Please do not apply if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Trudy the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $650. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age-appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention, and travel expenses. All our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for their transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed.
