Story
Benji is a 6-8 month old Cairn Terrier pup who became an orphan by no fault of his own. He was left at the dogsitter and never picked up! Benji is freshly neutered and healthy. He is good with kids, cats (cats need to be tolerant of a high energy level) and other dogs. Benji’s prospective new family needs to have another playful younger dog for him to play with AND to learn the ropes in his new home. He is a friendly, energetic puppy. Benji is potty trained, he will need to be taken outside for potty time. He has no issues in his foster home, they have him on a schedule. Benji is also crate trained, that is where is sleeps and eats in his foster home. Benji is very playful, not so much with toys, but with other dogs. He loves to chew on stuffed hooves, it keeps him busy for a couple of hours! Benji is a young guy and isn’t used to the car, he is a little nervous, likely because car rides have led to abandonment and to vet visits. Once they become a ride to something fun, he will likely relax easily. Since he is nervous he has been travelling in a crate so he feels safe. He was just groomed and the groomer gave him an A+! He easily had his nails trimmed and a bath, and a blow dry on low so it’s not so scary! So if you are ready to consider becoming Benji’s forever family and think you fit his needs please let us know! He is currently fostered in La Puente, CA (that is between Whittier and West Covina) and can be adopted in the surrounding counties. Story
Elton is from a litter born in a field in San Bernardino. Several siblings and their mother was rescued from harsh weather during a cold spell. It's a wonder any of them survived. He is a resilient playful puppy, always eager to play and happy to be embraced. For additional information, call Lydia at 714-357-8405. If this listing is still posted then we are still accepting applications. Please read the narrative in it's entirety. Please note our adoption procedures are explained in GREAT DETAIL BELOW. READ, READ, READ. Thank You. . . . . The best match will be selected and contacted to confirm an appointment at Petsmart in Yorba Linda on Saturday between noon and 3 pm or on a mutually agreeable day, time and place. We do not do out-of-state adoptions for puppies and we cannot hold puppies; please submit your application when you are ready to adopt. Adoption fees vary based on age, breed, size and the costs incurred on the dog's behalf by us i.e. medical, behavioral training, etc. Puppies are not house-trained although they may have begun crate-training and/or potty pad training in their foster home, depending on their age. House-training is a process that will need to be completed by their adopter. Puppies, if left unsupervised and not redirected will develop negative behaviors such as using the restroom in the wrong place, chewing, barking, whining, etc. Please be sure to do research on raising a puppy and be sure that you are prepared to do so. Story
Bitsy is just a 'li Bit of a girl- filled with everything sugar and nice!  Bitsy was born with a slightly different front paw - but her minor birth defect doesn't hold her back from being 100% happy, playful puppy.  She walks (and runs) with a barely noticeable limp, but it never impairs her ability to wrestle and play with her littler mates.  Bitsy is extremely loving and affectionate - loves to cuddle in your lap after playtime and her siblings.  She would do well in a home with another small dog or cat - but would also be fine being the only dog.   We expect our little Bitsy will be about 10 pounds when full grown.   If you are interested in meeting or adopting her, please go straight to our website and fill out the online adoption application.     Please fill out our online application (www.fochp.org).  Once you meet the pet and decide it is the right pet for your family there is an adoption fee.  The adoption fee includes the spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, de-worming, microchip, 30-day pet health insurance which you will need to order when we provide you with the number.    Our adoption fees are non-refundable so please be sure you are ready for a commitment to the pet you are interested in.
