Meet 9 year old, 10 lb Cairn Terrier mix, Nina, part of a group of unsocialized dogs we rescued from the OC shelter. They came from a local hoarder who had 40 dogs. We spent months socializing her at our center before sending her to a quiet foster home. She is shy with new people. Once she knows you, she likes belly rubs and to be held. She has had cataract surgery since she came to us. It’s made a world of difference for her behavior. Nina is looking for a quiet home with Almond and without children. She and Almond will not be adopted to an apartment or other home where they need to be walked in a noisy common area, as they’re too nervous around strangers and noises. So our sob story: Drove to San Diego to buy a pup at 9 weeks from a rescue organization. They promised the pup was part silky and would be under 10 pounds as my wife is disabled and could not pick up a heavier. 2 years later and Yoshi is 22 pounds! Last few months Yoshi has become very mean to our other rescue, a 10 year old morkie. Yoshi, near any food or toys, acts like he will hurt us with growls, teeth, and has (lightly) bitten us both. The rest of the time Yoshi is a love and plays ALOT with our other dog who is 10. He is sweet, loving, sleeps tucked in next to us, and LOVES to play especially if a food reward is involved, or chasing a toy. He is overly protective and will growl at visitors until they give him a treat or two. We want to find a person or family where he will be the only dog. Trade for a small dog is possible. In summary: Loving Playful 22 lbs Curley light and orange color hair Knows to go to the door and look at us to take him out.

Muppet is around 5 years old and weighs approximately 12 pounds. He has a medium energy level. He's pretty laid-back and mellow. He still has bursts of energy and likes to play. He does well with adults and other dogs. Muppet is sweet, loving and goofy. He would do best with an adopter(s) that have previous canine experience. He will make a wonderful companion.
