Story
I took Ruby in 3 years ago. She was born under a woman’s house and stayed outside for 3 years. She was fed by the family along with her other litter mates. The family had her fixed and brought her inside during the winter months. Since then Ruby has come out of her shell more. She has learned to play and bond with my other cats. She is very sweet and shy. She loves pets and brushes. She does not like to be picked up, however, allows me to rub her belly. She likes to lay in bed next to me and asks for pets. Ruby is approximately 8 years old and will need dental surgery. I am unable to provide that for her at this time. Also, I do not have enough time to dedicate to her. She needs a loving, calm home environment.

Story
Feathers is about 10 weeks old girl kitten; beautiful classic calico with medium hair. She has a sweet face and is friendly. She is litterbox trained. She likes other cats. Feathers is NOT spayed yet. Feathers is microchipped, up to date vaccines, and tested FIV/FeLv negative. All cats adopted from Pack Leaders must remain indoor pets and must never be declawed. Pack Leaders' policy is to adopt young kittens out in pairs or to homes that already have cats or dogs available for them to interact and bond with, young kittens get sad/lonely without companion. This is best for the developmental needs of the kittens and will provide the best experience for the adopter as well. If you have no other pets at home please consider adopting Feathers with a friend. Thank you. Please complete an application on our website, www.packleadersrescue.com. Feathers thanks you for looking at her page and considering her to be your pet.

Story
Philomenia loves humans and will shower you with affection. She loves to wind in and out of your legs..  Philomenia also enjoys having a human companion to watch her eat (it's a perfect meal mate date, but you have to cover the bill).  She loves to play with toys and will sit beside you for a short time—just make sure not to rub her flanks. Like most cats, she loves treats, and she enjoys sitting on the back of the sofa gazing out the window.  This is the purrfect spot to watch the birds.  You'll often find her waiting patiently outside the bathroom door, respecting your privacy.  Philomenia definitely values her 'me time,' so she would thrive best in a home as the only pet.  This beautiful lady is ready for her forever home.  We hope it will be with you.  To be consisdered for her forever family please contact Critter Cavalry at crittercavalry@comcast.net or text 615-943-7311.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.    July 31, 2025, 6:14 pm

Story
Casey is an absolutely gorgeous calico cat, her vibrant tri&#226&#128&#145colored coat as charming and unique as her sweet soul—each patch reflecting the one-of-a-kind companion she is. Abandoned in rural Tennessee with her kittens, Casey never lost her sparkle; she knows she's special, and she’s ready to show it. This playful young adult brings joy with her adorable floor-rolling antics designed to capture your attention, then transitions seamlessly into a devoted snuggle partner, padding into bed for cozy nighttime purrs that feel like pure love. Beyond her affectionate nature, Casey embodies that legendary calico 'cattitude'—a delightful mix of independence, spirited charm, and affectionate loyalty that makes her both entertaining and deeply connected to those she trusts. Fully litter-trained and confident, she would flourish as the only cat in your home or as a serene, wise friend to a young kitten. If you're searching for a cat filled with warmth, humor, and color—both in coat and character—Casey is ready to make your life brighter and more loving. Contact ccrtennessee@gmail.com for more information. Why Casey’s Calico Traits Shine Bright: Independent yet loving: Calico cats are often described as affectionate and loyal, while also valuing their independence—a balance Casey embraces beautifully.  Playful quirks and spirit: Known for their energetic, quirky nature—sometimes lovingly called “tortitude”—calicos like Casey are full of playful energy that keeps life lively.  Unique, one-of-a-kind charm: Just like every calico’s coat is uniquely patterned, their personalities often stand out too, each distinct and full of character.  September 17, 2025, 12:02 am

Story
Meet Cutie Pie, the name that fits her perfectly. This 12-week-old calico sweetheart is a bundle of love wrapped in soft, colorful fur. She’s gentle, snuggly, and already knows how to make everyone around her fall head over heels. Cutie Pie adores playing with the other cats in her foster home and is wonderfully patient with children. She’s also learning that dogs aren’t too bad — she tolerates them with grace, especially if they mind their manners. She’s litter box trained, crate trained, and already showing how smart and easygoing she is. One of her favorite quirks? Sneaking over to the sink to drink straight from the faucet, because apparently water is just fancier that way. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful kitten who will bring joy and gentle affection into your home, Cutie Pie is your girl.Interested in adopting this beautiful calico?Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at CcrTennessee@gmail.com.December 4, 2025, 6:02 pm

Story
Sneezy is one of a litter of seven kittens who were named after the Seven Dwarves. she is very shy and, while curious and always comes over to her foster parents when they come into the room, tends to shy away from being touched, except when she is sleepy, in which case she loves being pet. She will need an adopter who is patient with her and allows her to feel safe on her own terms. She is very playful and loves toys, especially wand-style toys. She is bonded with her sister, Happy, and feels safer when they are together, so they must be adopted together. The total fee for adopting both is $550.  May 20, 2025, 10:40 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Mish is a calm, sweet boy who came in with his feline friend Cassy, who is also looking for a home. He’s a little nervous around new people, but once he finds his special person, he shows his quiet, loving side. Mish is a one-person type of cat who enjoys being near his human, whether it’s lounging on the couch or simply hanging out in the same room. He’s independent, relaxed, and a true couch potato at heart, but he also has his playful moments—he loves wand toys and even playing with the water in his bowl! If you’re looking for a low-key, affectionate, and loyal companion who enjoys both chill time and a bit of interactive play, Mish could be the perfect match for you. The cat you are adopting is very shy. Patience and a gentle approach will be necessary to form a bond and help this cat feel that they are safe in their new environment. This means that the cat is likely to not want to interact with you at first and will need time to settle in and relax. It is likely to take weeks to months for this cat to become comfortable in your home. Even once settled, they may always be a shy cat who runs from visitors. In order to have the best chance at creating a lasting bond with your new cat, you must go at their pace. When you get home, this cat should be set up in one room of your home, with a door that will stay shut while the cat adjusts. They should be offered a variety of foods and plenty of appropriate hiding places to help them feel safe during this transition. The cat should not be let out of their room until they seem like they are making progress and seem to want to explore more of the house. Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter. (Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available on Saturdays and during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccine -current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV/FIV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us.
