Story
Sneezy is a sweet, playful little girl who is a bit shy. She is bonded with her sister, Happy, and they must be adopted together. Sneezy is a bit shy and will take some time to warm up. She needs a patient adopter and a calm home that will respect her quieter demeanor and allow her to feel safe. Once she warms up to you, she is very affectionate and playful. Her foster mom writes, " It will take some time for them to warm up to you but when they do they will love you. They love running around and playing and they love to cuddle with you on the bed. Laying with me and purrrring is their favorite thing 🩷🩷" The total adoption fee for Happy and Sneezy together is $500.

Story
This adorable trio came to us with sweet Dove, and they’re ready to find loving homes of their own! Archer, Sonnet, and Valentina do not have to go home together—but if you’ve been thinking about adopting a pair (or even three!), they would love to keep the fun going with a sibling. Valentina is the most outgoing of the bunch, confident and curious, always ready to say hello. Archer and Sonnet are just as sweet but a bit shy at first. All three were born with adorable little bob tails, which only adds to their charm and makes them extra special. Like most kittens, they’ll do best with a slow introduction to their new home so they can build confidence and feel secure. With love, playtime, and a cozy space to settle in, these cuties are sure to grow into wonderful companions. Whether you’re looking for one playful sweetheart or multiple bundles of joy, Archer, Sonnet, and Valentina are ready to bring happiness to your home. Ready to Adopt a Kitten? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available kittens in the shelter. (Kittens in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT SIGHT UNSEEN If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the kitten first, we can help over the phone or by email. (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. Kittens are adopted on a first come, first served basis, and we’re not able to place holds on them. All kitten adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccination (if over 12 weeks of age) -current on distemper vaccines (will need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Story
Dove is a beautiful, gentle kitty who came to us with three young kittens—Archer, Sonnet, and Valentina. Dove is very sweet and friendly, but she can be a little nervous in new places. She was born with adorable little bob tail, which only adds to her charm and makes her extra special. Since we don’t know much about her past, she’ll need a patient adopter who can give her time to settle in and feel safe. A slow introduction to her new home—and to any resident pets—will help set her up for success Change is hard for this cat. This cat will be very nervous when you first bring them home. You will need to set up a room with a litter box, food, and water. It will take days for this cat to become comfortable and confident in the new home. This cat will be going home with a behavior plan that will need to be followed in order for everyone to transition successfully. Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter. (Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available on Saturdays and during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccine -current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV/FIV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hoarder cats are House Spirits - very shy with people. They live in your home, but are rarely seen - visitors will never see them. They are cats who live with you, and who may sometimes grant you the opportunity to touch them. Or, they may not. Here's what to expect with these special cats: These cats WILL: They're great with other cats! They are used to living with many cats, and are excellent companions for other cats. Over time, they will most likely get used to one or two people who will be allowed to touch them. They may choose to hang out near you, or sleep on the bed with you at night. They are a great choice for patient, kind people with a quiet household, who want to make a difference for an individual cat - one that few people have the patience to help. They are a fine choice for situations where you don't have a lot of time to devote to a pet - most of these kitties do not need or want much attention from people. These cats will not: They will not magically turn into normal acting cats; what you see is what they will be like for a long time, maybe always. Some will change more than others, but be prepared for what you see now. They will not be a good choice for busy homes. Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter. Story
Tito is just over 2 years old and I've had him since he was born. He loves attention, playing, cuddling and other cats once he gets comfortable with them. He is an indoor cat and has never been outside. He is very vocal when he wants attention. I'm looking for a new home due to having a busy schedule. I am also able to provide a liter box, cat tree, toys and food. I’m not looking for a rehoming fee, just for the little guy to go to a good home.
