Meet Markie – The Queen of Disapproval and Cuddles! Have you ever wanted a cat who will adore you and silently judge your every move? Well, Markie is here to fulfill that dream! With her signature disapproving glare, this stunning gray dilute calico is an expert in the art of looking unimpressed—whether you’re serving her dinner (too slow), rearranging furniture (why?), or simply existing in her presence (tsk tsk). But don’t be fooled by her stern expression—underneath that gaze is a total sweetheart! Markie loves attention, enjoys being held, and will happily lean in for pets once she decides you’re worthy. She’s got a soft, plush coat perfect for snuggling, a round full belly that’s just begging for gentle pats, and a quiet but loving personality that will melt your heart. At 10.4 pounds, Markie is a bigger girl, which just means more of her to love! Markie has an estimated DOB of 1/16/2023, putting her just over 2 years old. She’s spayed, tested negative for feline leukemia/FIV, fully vaccinated, flea- and worm-free, and all-around ready to go to her forever home. She seems to get along well with laid-back kitty friends, so she’d make a great addition to a chill feline crew. Markie is waiting for a home where she can be pampered, admired, and occasionally roll her eyes at your life choices. Could it be yours? Story
Kaya showed up at my house as a stray. I took her in 5 yrs ago. He's very affectionate, and very friendly, however she would bully my two senior girl cats relentlessly to where they didn't even have a life whatsoever because they were afraid of her. She got along great with the kittens and all the other cats except for the two senior girls. This went on for a long time until I just couldn't take the situation anymore so I relocated her down to the basement where there are other cats down there. She hasn't adjusted very well down there because the person that takes care of them isn't around enough. She had a wonderful life here. She had a catio to go out on every day, but she just wouldn't leave the senior girls alone. She made their life miserable. She's not happy where she is right now and it literally breaks my heart. I think cry everyday. I would prefer an older person that is home all the time that will give her the love that I've given her and that she deserves . Very cute.

Story
Tiny, what a petite and sweet little girl. And so beautiful too. This sweetheart is shy at first but opens up when you spend some time with her. This little girl has been a favorite of mine, she's just a quiet unassuming sweetheart. Very low key too. She'd do best in a quiet home with adults or a family with older children.

Story
Maggie needs a home where she matters. She has had many years of experiencing how it feels to be forgotten about, to not be kept safe or cared for... she wandered house to house for so long, until she found someone to notice the wear and tear and signs of neglect on her flea bitten, thin body. They called our rescue, Purrfect Haven Cat Rescue and TNR and one night at 11pm she was finally safely in our care. She flourished! We found out Maggie was microchipped and her owner did not care about giving her the life she deserved. Maggie is 9 years old and came to us during the 95 degree days with a fever, dehydrated, flea infested with lots of hair loss and dehydrated... her body was broken but her spirit was so accepting of this new life. A life of feeling what it means to be loved. Now, she is healthy, gaining weight, gaining her hair back and shes ready for her family. Maggie is very sweet and loves attention! She knows no stranger and will ask everyone in the room to love on Maggie. I promise you that you'll be so glad you chose to give Maggie a happy next and final chapter and really change her life... a true rescue! P.S. We do assume that during her life on the streets that Maggie encountered many cats that were not kind to her. We do feel that she may do best in a home where she just has her person all to herself.

Story
Franceska has already done the hardest job of her life... now shes hoping someone will choose her. This beautiful calico showed up at the back sliding glass door of a kind womans home, meowing for help. Somehow she knew she needed a safe place. The very next day, she gave birth to three precious little calico girls. She was the sweetest, most devoted mama, raising her babies with so much love until they were ready for families of their own. All three of her girls have found their forever homes... and now its finally Franceskas turn. She may be a little shy for the first few minutes when meeting someone new, but once she realizes youre there to love her, her gentle personality shines. She adores being petted, soaks up every bit of affection, and will happily seek you out for attention. Franceska isnt the kind of cat who needs to be the center of everything—she just wants her person. Once she finds you, shell be your loyal little sidekick, bringing quiet companionship, comfort, and so much love to your home. After everything shes done for her babies, wed love nothing more than to see Franceska finally have a family to call her own.

Story
I need to share with you a story of survival, a story of being finally chosen after enduring so much mistreatment on the streets, and losing your eye in the struggle… then your chosen and loved by a man who took you in, cared for you after you delivered your babies and then called Purrfect Haven Cat Rescue and TNR to take you just long enough for your babies to be weaned and then this kind man wanted you back, forever. He called to check on you daily, he brought food to the rescue to make sure you had your favorite, he told us “tell her she’s coming home soon”… until one day he didn’t call. He was found in his home after a massive heart attack. Our hearts broke—not just for the man who loved her so deeply, but for Cora, who had finally been chosen after everything she’d survived… only to lose the person who loved her most. Now this one eyed calico mama he called Sweet Cora is on her search to be chosen again, forever. She is sweet, but she’s shy. After she gets to know you, she will stretch out begging for belly rubs, she will cuddle up against you. But, her person would need to understand her trauma, her journey and give her the love and patience she needs. She’s so deserving. She can’t be put back on the streets🙏🏻. We don’t want her to struggle again to live in the elements or be someone’s mouser. We want this mama to be chosen and cherished. Help us help her 🙏🏻 please. Open up your heart ❤️and home 🏡 and decide to love her. Sweet Cora is FIV positive but FELV negative. FIV positive (this is not contagious to other cats except through reproducing or a deep flesh bite wound, and they can live healthy long lives. Please spread the word and find this mama a home.

Story
Meet April — A Gentle Heart in Search of Her Forever Home. April’s story is one of quiet transformation. When she first arrived at our sanctuary as a tiny springtime kitten, she was shy and uncertain, unsure of the world around her. But with time, love, and patience, this beautiful girl has blossomed into a sweet, tender companion — now she just needs the right home to complete her journey. April is a soft soul who thrives in the company of other calm, gentle cats. She absolutely adores snuggling with her feline friends, often curling up in a cozy pile for warmth, comfort, and companionship. She feels safest and happiest when she has a calm kitty companion by her side — and for that reason, we would love to see her adopted with a trusted shelter friend she already knows and loves. With people, April is shy at first — but once she trusts you, she enjoys gentle pets, quiet snuggles, and will reward your patience with soft purrs and affection. She isn’t a bold, outgoing cat, but she is incredibly loving in her own peaceful, steady way. Watching her bloom into a confident companion will be one of the most rewarding experiences for her future family. April’s Info: Born approximately 3/1/2024; Sleek black coat; Spayed; Up to date on vaccinations; Tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV; Flea-treated, dewormed, and healthy. April will do best in a calm home where she can continue to blossom at her own pace, surrounded by understanding people and maybe even a snuggly feline friend. She’s waited so patiently for someone to see the beauty and love she has to offer. Could that someone be you? Apply to meet April today: https://www.catsanctuaryashland.org/adoption-application

Story
It's Day Five of Betsy's Litter of Adorable Kittens, but we have two youngins today, because, well, these guys are special. Captain and Barbara are just as cute and snuggly and sweet as their siblings, but they are both very timid and shy, and we think that they would do best being adopted with a sibling. It doesn't have to be THIS sibling, but it makes sense to have the quiet ones together, right? Plus, these two kittens were part of our Mother's Day naming sensation, so they are already special- now you get double that cuddle! CAPTAIN weighs in as the largest of our litter, but is definitely the most timid. Sporting a black collar, this tiger kitty with white paws is a little over 8 weeks old, and is ready to leave our nest...with, we suggest, a friend. BARBARA is a dilute calico with just a smidge of orange on her, and is currently in a pink collar. At not even 2 pounds, our little sweetheart is ready for a new home, but will acclimate so much better and be so much happier, if she can go with a sibling. Captain and Barbara have also: -Tested negative for Feline Leukemia/FIV; -Received their vaccinations; -Been treated for fleas and worms; and -Had a negative fecal test. The balance of their vaccinations and spay/neuter is included in our adoption plan. All are age-appropriate services. If you love an adorable kitten, but don't love the idea of all the antics that go along with one, how about a more quiet, more introspective, more demure little one? And how about two? If the idea of opening up your home to two sweet, quiet kitties sounds like the perfect thought, with the prefect pair, fill out an application today! https://www.catsanctuaryashland.org/adoption-application

Story
Meet Bolognese! Bolognese is a female, short hair grey tiger with an estimated DOB of 5/8/2021. Bolognese and her sister Pesto have been with us about a year and a half. These sweet girls started off a little on the shy side which is probably the only reason some lucky family hasn't snatched them up already. They may need a little time to settle into new surroundings, but these girls would most certainly bring joy to a new family. Both of these ladies love the laser pointer and would do just about anything for their Temptation Puree treats! Sister Marinara has already found her forever home, now it's time for her sisters to do the same. Both sisters are spayed, tested negative for feline leukemia/FIV, fully vaccinated, wormed, fecal tested negative, flea prevention. If you think your home might be right for Bolognese, Pesto, or maybe both please fill out an application today! Https://www.catsanctuaryashland.org/application
