Story
Minerva, affectionately known as Minnie, is every bit as sweet and petite as her name suggests. This little girl may be tiny, but she has an enormous amount of love to give. She is gentle, polite, quiet, and has the sweetest way of letting you know when she's ready for her meals. Minnie is an easygoing girl who enjoys receiving pets and affection from her people. She'll happily spend some time soaking up attention before quietly wandering off to find her favourite spot for a nap. When she's not relaxing, Minnie enjoys playing with her toys, especially anything with a string. She has a lovely balance of playful moments and quiet time. Minnie is a stunning cat, but her gentle, sweet nature truly makes her shine. She is one of those special little souls who quietly captures your heart and makes you fall in love with her more every day. Minnie is being fostered in Aurora. Story
DOB: March 6, 2022 - FIV/FeLV Negative Phoenix is being fostered at one of Toronto Cat Rescue’s partner locations. Please note that if you’re approved to adopt, you’ll need to pick them up from the store within 24 hours of being approved. I’m Phoenix, a little about myself: My days are quiet and peaceful, filled with gentle moments and cozy places to watch the world go by. I can be a little shy when we first meet, but give me some time and patience, and you’ll soon see my sweet personality begin to shine. Once I feel safe and comfortable, I’m happy to settle in nearby and enjoy your company. I’m a gentle soul who would love a calm home where I can take things at my own pace and build a special bond with my people. I’m also good with other cats, so I could do well with a feline friend with a proper introduction. Phoenix has had all of her teeth extracted, but that doesn’t stop this girl from enjoying her meals If you’re looking for a loving, gentle companion who will bring warmth, quiet joy, and plenty of sweet moments to your home, Phoenix may be just the cat for you!

Story
DOB: June 26th, 2016 Don’t let the word senior fool you! Bella has the energy and playful spirit of a kitten! She is a sweet, curious but very cautious girl with a big personality, a few very specific opinions, and plenty of love to give! New sounds and sudden noises and movement can startle her, so she does best when given time to adjust to unfamiliar people and surroundings. Once she feels safe, her playful and relaxed personality really starts to shine. Her absolute favourite thing in the world is her spring toys but medium or large springs only! Just pluck her favourite spring toy and she’ll come running, sometimes you may even hear her meow because she wants you to shoot it (she will bring it back to you)! If her spring toy gets stuck underneath furniture or an appliance, she will make sure you know about it. She is affectionate in her own special way. She may not be a traditional lap cat, but she will very likely be the first one to greet you when you come home. She is independent and enjoys having her own, quiet and relaxing space, but once she learns to trust you, you may eventually be rewarded with the ultimate honour... sleeping beside you. She also loves having a good vantage point. She enjoys relaxing on top of her cat tree and watching the birds outside! Bella has a couple of special considerations when it comes to food. She has no teeth, so wet food is the easiest option for her. She is also a very slow eater, and she sometimes seems to genuinely forget that she is supposed to eat! Her meals are best offered in smaller portions throughout the day, with a lot of encouragement and reminding from her humans (best to play with her a lot, this helps her feel hungry enough to finish her food). Bella isn’t particularly fond of chicken or duck flavours, although she may eat them when mixed with another flavour. Salmon is usually a good choice, and she sometimes enjoys beef as well. She also has excellent litter habits, but she is a very enthusiastic digger! A high-sided litter box is recommended to help keep her digging contained. Bella may tolerate living with other cats, but she definitely has some boundaries! She does not appreciate other cats using her litter boxes or taking over her favourite spots around the house. She may hold a little grudge against them who ignores her rules, and she can occasionally start a confrontation. That said, she responds when redirected, so her body language should be watched and interactions managed appropriately. So a home where she can have her own resources, favourite spots, and personal space would be ideal if she is living with another cat. Overall, Bella is a sweet, relaxed, playful, independent, and wonderfully unique senior cat. She may take a little time to feel completely comfortable, but getting to earn her trust is incredibly rewarding. If you’re looking for a cat who will greet you at the door, demand spring-toy entertainment, supervise the neighbourhood birds, and occasionally surprise you by curling up beside you, she might be your girl. She has her own personality, her own rules, and a whole lot of love to give. Thank you for welcoming a senior cat into your family - an adoption fee of your choice is appreciated, vs. our standard adult cat adoption fee of $250.
