Story
DOB: March 6, 2022 - FIV/FeLV Negative Phoenix is being fostered at one of Toronto Cat Rescue’s partner locations. Please note that if you’re approved to adopt, you’ll need to pick them up from the store within 24 hours of being approved. I’m Phoenix, a little about myself: My days are quiet and peaceful, filled with gentle moments and cozy places to watch the world go by. I can be a little shy when we first meet, but give me some time and patience, and you’ll soon see my sweet personality begin to shine. Once I feel safe and comfortable, I’m happy to settle in nearby and enjoy your company. I’m a gentle soul who would love a calm home where I can take things at my own pace and build a special bond with my people. I’m also good with other cats, so I could do well with a feline friend with a proper introduction. Phoenix has had all of her teeth extracted, but that doesn’t stop this girl from enjoying her meals If you’re looking for a loving, gentle companion who will bring warmth, quiet joy, and plenty of sweet moments to your home, Phoenix may be just the cat for you!

Story
DOB: April 26th, 2016 Emerald is a sunbeam chaser. She spends her days migrating from window to window following the light, and when she's not sunbathing she's probably flopped across your feet asking for scratches. She's a "next to you" cat rather than a lap cat — happiest curled up beside you or sprawled out in the middle of the room. She's independent enough to entertain herself with her catnip toys, but she's affectionate and social with people. When company comes over, Emerald doesn't hide — she stretches out in the middle of the floor and lets the party happen around her. She's very food-motivated, which makes her easy to win over. She's been a model roommate in her foster home: uses her litter box reliably and loves her scratching posts and pads, so your furniture is safe. She's met a neighbourhood cat nose-to-nose at the door more than once and been perfectly civil about it, so she'd likely settle in with a calm, easygoing feline companion. She hasn't lived with children or dogs, so a home with older kids or a quiet adult household would be a good fit. She greets you with a soft little meow every single time you walk into the room, then flops directly onto your feet. Temptations are her weakness — she has been known to share them with the neighbour's cat through the front door. She'll follow the sun around the house all day like it's her job Emerald is a healthy, active senior who needs a family willing to manage a couple of ongoing skin issues: - She gets feline chin acne, so she'll need to be fed from metal or porcelain bowls (no plastic) and have her chin kept clean. She also has allergies that cause itching and scratching. A steroid injection gave her about two months of relief, and she's due for another. A food trial was attempted but she refused the hypoallergenic diet. Her adopter should be prepared for periodic steroid shots or further allergy workup with their vet. Her foster can share the full history. None of this slows her down — she just needs someone who'll keep her comfortable so she can get back to the important business of following the sun. Thank you for welcoming a senior cat into your family - an adoption fee of your choice is appreciated, vs. our standard adult cat adoption fee of $250.

Story
DOB: June 7, 2026 Cucumber is being fostered at one of Toronto Cat Rescue’s pet store partner locations. Please note that if you’re approved to adopt, you’ll need to pick them up from the store within 24 hours of being approved. Cucumber is an adorable, sweet-tempered calico girl and definitely the softest of her sibling group. She can sometimes become quite determined when she wants pets and attention, and she isn't afraid to let you know with her little squeaky meow. This is a kitten who will definitely appreciate your time, attention, and plenty of cheek rubs! Cucumber loves cuddling up next to you in bed and is all purrs, no hisses, and 100% adorableness. Much like her mother, she is likely to grow into a relaxed, well-behaved, and friendly cat. She enjoys sitting up high and watching the world below, cuddling with her siblings, and getting plenty of scratches and pets. Cucumber is good with other cats and is familiar with children. She has been heavily socialized and is comfortable being picked up, although she doesn't particularly love being carried around. If she isn't enjoying something, she'll give you a little meow to let you know. Fortunately, a few cheek rubs are usually all it takes to win her back over! If you're looking to adopt a pair, Cucumber would do well with her brother Zanka. She could also thrive in a home with a young, friendly resident cat who would enjoy having a playful companion.

Story
DOB: May 28, 2024 Queen Elizabeth is being fostered at one of Toronto Cat Rescue’s pet store partner locations. Please note that if you’re approved to adopt, you’ll need to pick them up from the store within 24 hours of being approved. Queen Elizabeth, AKA Lizzy, is a sweet and elegant young lady. She is a very calm, mild-mannered, and affectionate kitty with a nice laid-back personality. She very much likes attention and will seek you out, likes spending time near her people, but she also does well on her own. But don't let her gentle temperament for you, she's also a playful girl! She loves chasing wand toys and will really appreciate anytime you spend enriching her life with some play time. She's mostly well behaved when being pet or playing, and if she starts to get a little too feisty a quick word will settle her down. She seems very trainable this way, and she listens and understands when you tell her not to do something. She is very docile and easy to pick up and carry around, including on her back where you can give her a tummy rubs while walking around with her. Really and truly an incredibly gentle calm kitty. She does well with children. She tolerates other cats, but doesn't seem to seek out their company, and can be a little spicy sometimes launching little ambushes (but nothing serious). Although she would be fine with other cats, she would do quite well in a single cat household.  This beautiful and delightful young lady is ready to find her forever home.

Story
Marcello is a handsome boy with the most beautiful, silky-soft fur coat. This sweet King loves his people and will occasionally curl up beside you for some cuddle time on the couch or in bed. He absolutely loves playing with his people, especially with string and his favourite laser pointer! He's also perfectly happy entertaining himself and enjoys his independent playtime. One of his favourite pastimes is sitting by the window, watching the birds and squirrels enjoying the feeder outside. Marcello is generally a calm and quiet boy, but like any good cat, he does get the occasional case of the zoomies! Once he's finished racing around, he settles in for a well-deserved nap like the King he is. Marcello would love a forever home where he can be loved, cherished and appreciated as he truly deserves. Marcello is being fostered in Aurora If you would like to meet Marcello and are interested in adopting him, please fill out an application at https://pawsaboverescue.ca/cat-adoption/ Please visit our website www.pawsaboverescue.ca to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.
