Story
A little wine, anyone? Meet Chardonnay, a gorgeous, white and orange tabby mama with the longest tail we have seen, and her three beautiful kittens - Grigio, Claret and Barolo. Rescued by a Good Samaritan, they were taken in from outside, but the Good Samaritan could not keep them. She graciously took care of them for a couple of weeks and then they transferred into care. They all have very distinct personalities and are very sweet.Chardonnay- a young mama cat, she has raised her kittens, and now she’s ready for her own forever home. She is very inquisitive, affectionate and chatty! She is a very personable cat and likes to be around people. She would do well in a mid to high activity home and does well with other cats and kittens.Grigio has a lot to say. He is a very chatty boy with some strong opinions! He likes people and wants to be in the middle of whatever is going on. He is playful and gets along with other cats. He would need to be adopted with a sibling or have another playful cat in the home. Would most likely do well with kids and a mid to high activity home.Barolo is our fluffy boy and the shyest of the bunch. He has come out of his shell more in foster care, but he still takes the longest to warm up. He likes attention, loves to be petted but also needs his safe spaces for his alone time. He needs lots of love and attention because he is so beautiful. he definitely needs a quieter home.Claret is the only girl in the bunch and holds her own with all these brothers. She is a calico and has the personality to match, which is to say she is independent, curious, playful, and loving, on her terms, of course. She has warmed up a lot in foster care and is very comfortable with other cats and kittens. She would need to be adopted with a sibling or have a cat friend at home. She would be okay in a medium to high activity home. This family is/will be  spayed/neutered, receive their FVRCP and rabies vaccines, tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia, and all have a microchip with a lifetime registration. No need to re-regoster every year - we've done it for you.. Please email us if you are interested at GoodMews22@aol.com. Cheers!February 28, 2024, 5:30 am

Story
Chloe is a sweet and playful three-year-old petite female calico colored cat. She was rescued as a tiny kitten and was in foster care for nearly two years. In February 2022 she was adopted but she was surrendered back to Shadow Cat Advocates on June 28, 2022. Chloe does not like to be touched. She loves to sit near her foster Mom, will play endlessly with the laser light, loves her wet food and treats, and gets along well with her foster cat siblings, but she becomes quite frightened if she is cornered and she is hard to get into a crate when she must go to the Vet. Chloe deserves a home where she will be adored and loved with a family that does not expect a lap cat or to pet her. We realize finding the right home for Chloe may be a challenge however, we hope there is a family with other friendly cats that would welcome a new addition to the pack. Chloe is fully vaccinated, is negative for FIV and FeLV, is spayed, and microchipped. She has had her rabies shot and is an indoor only cat. It is a SCA policy that our cats cannot be declawed. Chloe is in foster care in Woodbridge, VA. Please call Jayne at: 703-457-0603 if you would like to meet Chloe or If you would like to find out more about adopting Chloe. You can also send an email for information and an adoption application to info@shadowcatadvocates.org.

Clever Cleo is a sprite little gal. She is curious and playful. Always the first to run up to greet you. CLEO has had her surgery and vetting. After multiple testing it has come to light that she is Feline Leukemia positive. She has no signs of her diagnosis .We feel that these sweet little felines deserve a normal happy loving home and we will not let this prevent them from finding one. We are willing to support both emotionally and medically if and when the situation presents itself. If you are feeling that you have always wanted to do more for the homeless kitties ....here is a great chance to show some love and share it with these precious felines. She is ready for her new life in a home of her very own. She has 2 sisters both just as adorable and also tested positive . Please text or call 540-419-5335 to set up your meet and greet today!

Story
Meet Albert! Albert is a black kitten with a white crest on his chest, just 11 months old (as of 2.11.22) who was found under a Good Samaritan's porch with his mom and 4 siblings.Albert loves to romp and play with his siblings, but can sometimes be a loner, instead choosing to sit high up on the cat tree by himself and just enjoy the solitude. He loves to climb, and wrestle with brother, Windsor, and loves his canned food.Albert's perfect home would be a quiet, low activity home with older kids over the age of 12 years old. He is still a bit skittish when he hears an unfamiliar noise, He has been neutered, had 2 FVRCP vaccines, will have a rabies if 4 months old or older at time of adoption, has been tested for FIV and feline leukemia, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. If you would like a little royalty in your house, please email us at GoodMews22@aol.com or call 540.717.4420. His mom, Amelia is also still; available. Story
Meet Rhonda! Rhonda came to us last January when our volunteer, Amanda, overheard a customer at her place of work complaining about a cat always in his trash can searching for food. He stated that he was going to "get rid of her." Quick as a wink, Amanda stepped in, left work, went to the house, and brought Rhonda to us. (The man later gave us a donation.)Rhonda is a beautiful brown tabby white paws and chest and beautiful green eyes, about 2 years old. She is very sweet and unassuming, and seems to have low self-esteem. Poor Rhonda must've been through a lot while being on her own out there and must've been eating out of the trash for quite some time, because she had a hard time keeping food down for the first 2 weeks she was in our care. So nervous was she  that she lost some of her fur on her legs. Now Rhonda is good as can be! She has been dewormed and eats heartily, She is very friendly, loves to rub her head up against you, and would make nice companion cat once she is comfortable. Rhonda got her name from the Beach Boy's song, "Help Me, Rhonda,' hence her photo (photoshopped) on the beach.Rhonda's perfect home would be a quiet, low activity home with either no children or kids over the age of 14. Rhonda is/will be spayed, received an FVRCP vaccine, a rabies vaccine, tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Interested in Rhonda being a family member? Please contact us at 540.717.4420 or email us at GoodMews22@aol.com.February 28, 2024, 5:30 am

Story
Meet Stella R. Tois aka "Stella," Jenna C. Brew, and Jennings - 3 one -year-old sisters who are looking for a home. These 3 girls have been with us since they were little kittens, about 8 weeks old. They were found in the parking lot of the brewery in downtown Culpeper.Stella is the braver of the 3 sisters and enjoys being pet, once she gets to know you, on her terms Usually while eating). Jenna C. and Jennings (like twins!) are very shy but submissive. When they need vetted, it isn't difficult to pick them up and place them in a carrier - again, once they are comfortable with you. These girls are not barn cat material. They cannot defend themselves and are not street smart. They are, what we refer to as Violets - or shrinking violets. Stella, Jenna, and Jennings need a patient, quiet, loving home where they will be loved for who they are and their new person or family will be patient until they come out of their shell and learn to trust. They are litter box trained, but at times can knock the litter out or knock the box over. Easily fixed. They are not aggressive. They do not claw furniture and would love a large climber in front of a sunny window. Because they are not lap cats, they have lived a year in foster care and are yearning for their new home.Won't you please open your heart to them? Their perfect home would be a quiet, low activity home with either no children or children over the age of 14. Adoption fee - adopt 1 get 2 free. They just need a good, loving home. Thank you.GoodMews22@aol.com or call 540.717.4420February 28, 2024, 5:30 am
