**** GEORGIA APPLICATIONS ONLY. ALL OUT OF STATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE DENIED, older children only or no kids at all due to size****Rocky is 7 months old and professionally obedience trained on / off leash. Good with dogs of all sizes as well as with farm animals and cats. Rocky was surrendered to me (trainer) after his owners decided they were too busy for him. Generally friendly but is true to breed type and is aloof with strangers (not reactive) so needs a home that is experienced with guardian breeds. He would do well as a home guardian but doesn't have the temperament for personal protection. Rocky is a Bandogge imported from the Czech Republic and is up to date on vaccines. He will be around 115+lbs as an adult.

Story
There’s no place like home… let’s find Whiskey one! Whiskey was born at BCAR three years ago, and sadly, while his five littermates and his mom were all long-ago adopted. Whiskey had a very severe case of Parvo and by the time he was healthy and ready for adoption, he was a big, growing dog and was just overlooked. He has had great care and extra love from our volunteers at BCAR, but he needs to be in a home. One of our volunteers invited Whiskey to visit her home for a couple of days. She reported back that he was a perfect gentleman! While being understandably nervous of household noises like the dishwasher, he was a quick learner when it came to couch time! He had no accidents in the house, slept well through the night, and enjoyed TV time. Another volunteer has been working with Whiskey on beginning agility training. You can check out their You Tube video. Bob has been working on various aspects of Whiskey's training several times a week for a while now and they have become best buddies. Bob has this to say about Whiskey: "I enjoy working with Whiskey because he is highly intelligent and has 'personality.' By that i mean he responds well to training/commands and picks up new tasks with ease. His 'personality' varies based on the circumstances. When he is let out of his kennel and goes into the office, he is a bundle of loving energy who adores attention and is genuinely excited to see the volunteers. While on walks to field training he is in high 'alert' mode ready for any situation. While in the dog park he is all silliness as he lies down in the pool to cool off. Also in the dog park, he is super focused on performing agility tasks and following commands to sit, stay and come. He can react to strangers and strange/unknown dogs if left to himself but can also remain relatively calm if on leash or held and told to leave whatever he perceives as a threat. One of his favorite things to do in the dog park is to climb on top of the picnic table, nuzzle up to me and let me massage his neck and shoulders (so much so that if I stop, he "nose bumps" me to keep going). He is a really good dog who needs time, training, compassion and understanding." Whiskey needs to be an only pet but will make a loyal and loving companion for his people. He just needs a chance!! All BCAR dogs are placed as indoor family pets. No electric fences, please. Visit pets every Saturday 11:00 am to 2:00 pm (706-268-1346) or visit our website for adoption information at www.bigcanoeanimalrescue.org.

I have had to move and cannot take my precious Banjo with me. He’s with my ex and we s not being taken care of, to my standards. Not sure if he would be aggressive towards a male. Please help me keep him out of a shelter.

Story
Beautiful TILLY is ready to FOSTER or ADOPT! 💋💄🌺 We pulled TILLY out of Hall County Animal Services, 36 hours before her deadline. The shelter staff took great care of her, she was fully vetted, microchipped and spayed.... and she put on some much needed weight, 12+ pounds in a couple weeks. She was placed with our awesome and very experienced medical foster, Nurse Tiffany, to get her back to being healthy. Her ear infections are healed and she is now ready to move to a COMMITTED FOSTER home. Even though TILLY's body has healed, she still has some baggage from her former life. We don't know the reasons she is fearful, but we want to find someone who is willing to offer lots of love, time and patience, while focusing on her emotional and psychological behaviors. Counter-conditioning methods will be successful with some of these issues. See below. Her ideal foster home will have another chill, easy going adult dog to play with and do zoomies in the yard together. We tell it like it is, no sugar coating BS, here are some real AF behaviors from Tiffany that you'll want to know before you commit. I promise she will be the loyal and devoted best friend you can take anywhere, if given the opportunity to shine! TILLY: -LOVES to be LOVED. -Can be fearful of sudden movements, new situations. -Loves being with people -Loves to give kisses. LOTS OF KISSES! -Is Treat motivated -Keeps her kennel clean.... she is house trained -Is Dog friendly -Would do best in a calmer home with another calm, confident dog. -Knows sit -Needs continued work on leash skills. She’s pulls, especially when scared. Her HarnessLead comes with her! We do not allow prongs or shocks to be used on our dogs. -Has a moderate prey drive (birds, squirrels) -Does well riding in a car -Likes to dress up and look pretty but is not a fan of tutus. 🤣 If you're falling in love with her face, wait till you meet her. We have the same criteria for fostering as we do for adoption. An approved application, vet reference, a phone interview, home visit (adoption counseling, no white gloves). we will follow up, coach/mentor every step of the way to forever. Georgia Dog Advocates will provide everything you need and pay all medical bills while in foster care. Interested? Apply here: https://form.jotform.com/gadogadvocates/foster-adopt
