Story
There’s no place like home… let’s find Whiskey one! Whiskey was born at BCAR three years ago, and sadly, while his five littermates and his mom were all long-ago adopted. Whiskey had a very severe case of Parvo and by the time he was healthy and ready for adoption, he was a big, growing dog and was just overlooked. He has had great care and extra love from our volunteers at BCAR, but he needs to be in a home. One of our volunteers invited Whiskey to visit her home for a couple of days. She reported back that he was a perfect gentleman! While being understandably nervous of household noises like the dishwasher, he was a quick learner when it came to couch time! He had no accidents in the house, slept well through the night, and enjoyed TV time. Another volunteer has been working with Whiskey on beginning agility training. You can check out their You Tube video. Bob has been working on various aspects of Whiskey's training several times a week for a while now and they have become best buddies. Bob has this to say about Whiskey: "I enjoy working with Whiskey because he is highly intelligent and has 'personality.' By that i mean he responds well to training/commands and picks up new tasks with ease. His 'personality' varies based on the circumstances. When he is let out of his kennel and goes into the office, he is a bundle of loving energy who adores attention and is genuinely excited to see the volunteers. While on walks to field training he is in high 'alert' mode ready for any situation. While in the dog park he is all silliness as he lies down in the pool to cool off. Also in the dog park, he is super focused on performing agility tasks and following commands to sit, stay and come. He can react to strangers and strange/unknown dogs if left to himself but can also remain relatively calm if on leash or held and told to leave whatever he perceives as a threat. One of his favorite things to do in the dog park is to climb on top of the picnic table, nuzzle up to me and let me massage his neck and shoulders (so much so that if I stop, he "nose bumps" me to keep going). He is a really good dog who needs time, training, compassion and understanding." Whiskey needs to be an only pet but will make a loyal and loving companion for his people. He just needs a chance!! All BCAR dogs are placed as indoor family pets. No electric fences, please. Visit pets every Saturday 11:00 am to 2:00 pm (706-268-1346) or visit our website for adoption information at www.bigcanoeanimalrescue.org.

Story
Meet lovely Lulu — a gentle soul in need of a second chance. Lulu came to the shelter as a lost dog on 4/21, and heartbreakingly, no one has come looking for her. This beautiful girl is feeling a bit scared and shut down in the noisy shelter environment, which is completely understandable. Even so, her sweet nature shines through. Beneath that timid exterior is a kind, gentle dog who simply needs a peaceful place to exhale and feel safe again. We truly believe Lulu will blossom in a calm, loving home once she has the chance to decompress and settle in. One thing that already makes her tail wag? Treats! Lulu takes them so politely and will sit like a perfect lady in hopes of earning another. Lulu has tested positive for heartworms, which makes finding her an adopter or foster especially urgent when the shelter is overcrowded. But heartworm disease is treatable, and with proper veterinary care Lulu can go on to enjoy many happy, healthy years ahead. Shelter staff can also talk with you about a foster-to-adopt option while she receives treatment. Right now, Lulu doesn’t need perfection — she just needs someone willing to believe in her. Could you be the hero this sweet girl has been waiting for? Lulu is approximately 1 year old, and weighs 68 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines, and will be spayed and microchipped upon adoption. Lulu is waiting patiently in kennel 807; her ID # is 18443. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Beautiful TILLY is ready to FOSTER or ADOPT! 💋💄🌺 We pulled TILLY out of Hall County Animal Services, 36 hours before her deadline. The shelter staff took great care of her, she was fully vetted, microchipped and spayed.... and she put on some much needed weight, 12+ pounds in a couple weeks. She was placed with our awesome and very experienced medical foster, Nurse Tiffany, to get her back to being healthy. Her ear infections are healed and she is now ready to move to a COMMITTED FOSTER home. Even though TILLY's body has healed, she still has some baggage from her former life. We don't know the reasons she is fearful, but we want to find someone who is willing to offer lots of love, time and patience, while focusing on her emotional and psychological behaviors. Counter-conditioning methods will be successful with some of these issues. See below. Her ideal foster home will have another chill, easy going adult dog to play with and do zoomies in the yard together. We tell it like it is, no sugar coating BS, here are some real AF behaviors from Tiffany that you'll want to know before you commit. I promise she will be the loyal and devoted best friend you can take anywhere, if given the opportunity to shine! TILLY: -LOVES to be LOVED. -Can be fearful of sudden movements, new situations. -Loves being with people -Loves to give kisses. LOTS OF KISSES! -Is Treat motivated -Keeps her kennel clean.... she is house trained -Is Dog friendly -Would do best in a calmer home with another calm, confident dog. -Knows sit -Needs continued work on leash skills. She’s pulls, especially when scared. Her HarnessLead comes with her! We do not allow prongs or shocks to be used on our dogs. -Has a moderate prey drive (birds, squirrels) -Does well riding in a car -Likes to dress up and look pretty but is not a fan of tutus. 🤣 If you're falling in love with her face, wait till you meet her. We have the same criteria for fostering as we do for adoption. An approved application, vet reference, a phone interview, home visit (adoption counseling, no white gloves). we will follow up, coach/mentor every step of the way to forever. Georgia Dog Advocates will provide everything you need and pay all medical bills while in foster care. Interested? Apply here: https://form.jotform.com/gadogadvocates/foster-adopt

Story
Jax was born in November 2025 to litter of 8 puppies in a loving home in Marrietta. Due to the liters’ size and a close relationship to the family we decided to adopt him in December. Already having a 5yr old pit-uahuah, Jax has been a great playmate for our older pup however we don’t think we have enough space/schedule to really keep him socialized and comfortable as he grows up.

Story
Potential adopters WILL NEED TO MEET EVIE WITH Jessica, Sawyer or Kyle. You should be able to come and meet Evie a couple of times before bringing her home. She experienced the traumatic loss of her owner and protector about a year ago and is still recovering from this. PLEASE CALL CRABAPPLE KNOLL TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET EVIE, as she will be staying with a foster on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays ~~ 770.475.8272. EVIE ~~ Cane Corso, Spayed Female, Black, DOB: 8/4/2020, 92 pounds Are you a huge fan of large breed dogs? If so, consider adding Evie to your family. She's had a rough time and is looking for a great family to help her deal with the death of her previous owner. She has been staying with us at Crabapple Knoll for quite awhile as we work to find her a good home. Evie is more than ready to find a new forever home with people who love her as much as she will love them. It would be best that Evie is the only pet in the household. She prefers to have all of the attention, food and toys for herself. If there are children in the house, Evie would do best in a home with teenagers rather than small children. Evie is a 100% loyal shadow to her people, but doesn't give her trust and loyalty away freely. She will protect you with her life, but is going to size you up first. Once you're in her circle, you're Evie's family for life. After that, she will be your "Velcro Dog. Evie is affectionate, observant, and deeply bonded to her family members. She is a 90+ pound lap dog who thinks personal space is a myth. She might be slow to trust strangers, but her heart belongs completely to her humans. Evie specializes in monitoring the house and perimeter and keeping her pack safe. Protecting her family and home is her greatest joy. Earning her trust is a privilege—do you have the treats and patience to try? She is very food and treat motivated and may surprise you by learning a couple of cool tricks and commands. Evie is charming and loveable with anyone she knows. She is just timid around unfamiliar people. It's a learning curve for her, because she genuinely loves people and truly WANTS to be friends. Evie is gentle giant breed, is physically strong, quite healthy and a beautiful girl. She enjoys daily exercise of some sort (going for a walk, playing with toys in the yard, etc.). Evie is great on the leash and enjoys going for walks, adventures and rides in the car! Once she has had her exercise for the day, she is ready to chill for the remainder of her day. She would make an excellent movie watching companion! Evie will thrive in an environment where her new owner is someone who understands her breed, her needs, unique qualities and temperament ~~ highly intelligent, bred to protect, very loyal to her family, food and treat motivated. Evie is healthy, microchipped, current on all vaccines and vet services, and has a negative heartworm and negative fecal test. Her adoption fee is $155 and includes a yearly ProHeart12 Injection (for heartworms) and a yearly Bravecto Quantum Injection (for fleas and ticks). Both injections are good through November 2026. Another heartworm and flea-tick injection will be needed at that time and will last for another year. Evie is definitely ready to get out of the cage and into a home of her own. So, if you would like to meet with her and get to know her ~~ call us at Crabapple Knoll and schedule a date and time to meet her. Ask for Jessica, Sawyer or Kyle when you schedule a meeting to be sure they are available to introduce you. Crabapple Knoll Vet Clinic, 12604 Crabapple Road, Alpharetta. 770.475.8272. Weekdays 630AM to 7PM, Saturday and Sunday 8AM to 4PM. We are closed on all major holidays. Adoptions are done on a first come, first served basis. Please visit at least two hours prior to closing.

Story
Leilah Born February 7, 2023, in Los Angeles, Leilah is 3 years old, a Cane Corso/Pitbull mix. Her dad is a full-bred brindle Cane Corso and her mom is a black blue-nose Pitbull, both raised within our family, so Leilah comes from a loving, well-socialized line. Leilah is happy, sweet, loving, and kind, she adores everyone she meets, humans and dogs alike, regardless of size. She's affectionate and loves to cuddle, especially being petted to sleep. She's also energetic and thrives with an active routine: in LA she went on frequent hikes and had 2-3 playtimes a day. She also knows how to settle into calm alone time and enjoys simply being outdoors. I'm rehoming her due to a recent separation and move to Atlanta, where I'm currently not in a stable position to give her the active, spacious life she's used to. This is heartbreaking for me, she's genuinely the perfect dog, and she left behind a lot of friends in LA. I just want her to land somewhere she can keep being loved, active, and
