Story
Meet lovely Lulu — a gentle soul in need of a second chance. Lulu came to the shelter as a lost dog on 4/21, and heartbreakingly, no one has come looking for her. This beautiful girl is feeling a bit scared and shut down in the noisy shelter environment, which is completely understandable. Even so, her sweet nature shines through. Beneath that timid exterior is a kind, gentle dog who simply needs a peaceful place to exhale and feel safe again. We truly believe Lulu will blossom in a calm, loving home once she has the chance to decompress and settle in. One thing that already makes her tail wag? Treats! Lulu takes them so politely and will sit like a perfect lady in hopes of earning another. Lulu has tested positive for heartworms, which makes finding her an adopter or foster especially urgent when the shelter is overcrowded. But heartworm disease is treatable, and with proper veterinary care Lulu can go on to enjoy many happy, healthy years ahead. Shelter staff can also talk with you about a foster-to-adopt option while she receives treatment. Right now, Lulu doesn’t need perfection — she just needs someone willing to believe in her. Could you be the hero this sweet girl has been waiting for? Lulu is approximately 1 year old, and weighs 68 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines, and will be spayed and microchipped upon adoption. Lulu is waiting patiently in kennel 807; her ID # is 18443. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Diesel was fostered from Fulton County Animal Shelter. Because he is a Corso he was on the euthanization list. When we rescued him he was 69 lbs and his ribs were showing. We now have him in great shape and around 125 lbs. The only reason we are rehoming him is because he doesn't get along with our male pitbull who was rescued first. He gets along with our female Corso, medium size dog and our Yorkie.. He truly is a very loving dog and becomes protective of those he bonds with. He is house trained and a guardian of the house and my wife and I.He will be the same with any new owner he bonds with. Backyard fencing is required. He is a big cuddle bug and sleeps on our bed every night. He is just over 2 years old and just needs a home without another alpha male. He gets along with small male dogs and all female dogs. He is located in North Georgia

Story
EVIE ~~ Cane Corso, Spayed Female, Black, DOB: 8/4/2020, 93lbs If you're a fan of Cane Corso's and giant breeds, consider meeting Evie and adding her to your family. Evie's had a rough time lately and is looking for a great family to help her deal with the recent death of her owner. She's staying with us while we find her a new home. Evie's a very special girl and we want her to go to the best possible home after such a traumatic life event. OTHER PETS OR KIDS? It's best that Evie be the only pet in your household. She would prefer to have all of the attention, food and toys for herself. If there are children in the house, Evie will do best in a home with teenagers who are old enough to understand her need for personal space. We don't recommend that Evie live in a home with other dogs, cats or exotics. ABOUT HER PERSONALITY: Evie's treat/food motivated and may be interested in learning some commands. She's sweet and affectionate with people she knows. She is somewhat shy around people she is unfamiliar with. It's a learning curve for her, because she genuinely likes people and wants to be friends. If you can help Evie work through this and everything she's been through, then you are truly an angel and Evie would love to meet you! Ideally, she would need to meet several times with a potential adopter prior to going home ~~ just to make sure she is fully comfortable. She does warm up quickly during the Meet and Greets! FUN FACTS ABOUT EVIE: Evie is physically strong, enjoys going for walks (she's great on the leash!), napping, going for rides in the car and playtimes. She'll need to have a fenced backyard to run around in and does enjoy daily exercise of some sort (going for a walk, playing with toys in the yard, etc.). Once she has had her daily exercise, Evie is ready to chill for the remainder and would make an excellent companion for watching movies or marathoning your favorite TV show. Evie is a very well behaved girl, smart and loyal to her family and protective of her pack. MEDICAL: Evie is healthy, microchipped, current on vaccines and vet services, and has a negative heartworm and negative fecal test. Her adoption fee is $153 and includes one month of Simparica Trio to go home (for heartworms, fleas, ticks, intestinal parasites). She should remain on this medication once per month for the rest of her life to keep her healthy, happy and heartworm free! Evie is definitely ready to get out of the cage and back into a home. If you're interested in setting up a Meet and Greet to get to know her give us a call first. You will need to schedule a date and time to meet her. Ask for Jessica, Sawyer, Kyle and Mark when you schedule a meeting to be sure they are available to introduce you and answer any questions you may have. 770.475.8272 Monday to Friday 630AM to 7PM. Saturday and Sunday 8AM to 4PM. We are closed on all major holidays. Please visit at least two hours prior to closing. Adoptions are done on a first-come, first-served basis.

Story
Beautiful TILLY is ready to FOSTER or ADOPT! 💋💄🌺 We pulled TILLY out of Hall County Animal Services, 36 hours before her deadline. The shelter staff took great care of her, she was fully vetted, microchipped and spayed.... and she put on some much needed weight, 12+ pounds in a couple weeks. She was placed with our awesome and very experienced medical foster, Nurse Tiffany, to get her back to being healthy. Her ear infections are healed and she is now ready to move to a COMMITTED FOSTER home. Even though TILLY's body has healed, she still has some baggage from her former life. We don't know the reasons she is fearful, but we want to find someone who is willing to offer lots of love, time and patience, while focusing on her emotional and psychological behaviors. Counter-conditioning methods will be successful with some of these issues. See below. Her ideal foster home will have another chill, easy going adult dog to play with and do zoomies in the yard together. We tell it like it is, no sugar coating BS, here are some real AF behaviors from Tiffany that you'll want to know before you commit. I promise she will be the loyal and devoted best friend you can take anywhere, if given the opportunity to shine! TILLY: -LOVES to be LOVED. -Can be fearful of sudden movements, new situations. -Loves being with people -Loves to give kisses. LOTS OF KISSES! -Is Treat motivated -Keeps her kennel clean.... she is house trained -Is Dog friendly -Would do best in a calmer home with another calm, confident dog. -Knows sit -Needs continued work on leash skills. She’s pulls, especially when scared. Her HarnessLead comes with her! We do not allow prongs or shocks to be used on our dogs. -Has a moderate prey drive (birds, squirrels) -Does well riding in a car -Likes to dress up and look pretty but is not a fan of tutus. 🤣 If you're falling in love with her face, wait till you meet her. We have the same criteria for fostering as we do for adoption. An approved application, vet reference, a phone interview, home visit (adoption counseling, no white gloves). we will follow up, coach/mentor every step of the way to forever. Georgia Dog Advocates will provide everything you need and pay all medical bills while in foster care. Interested? Apply here: https://form.jotform.com/gadogadvocates/foster-adopt

Story
Big Boi is a striking Bullmastiff/Boxer mix and a true "gentle giant." He is a very tall boy with stunning green eyes and is four times the size of his littermates! He is a total love bug—non-aggressive, submissive, and just wants affection. He has very high puppy energy. When overly excited, he tends to jump and "flea bite" or nibble at you. We have been adjusting this behavior using verbal commands and a spray bottle of water for correction, which he is learning to respect. With his size and intelligence, he has great potential to be a guard or hunting dog with the right training. He gets along great with other dogs. Other animals are unknown, but with his sweet nature and proper socialization, he should thrive. Health: Dewormed, received his 1st 5-in-1 Canine Spectra vaccine, and had a flea treatment a few months ago. Big Boi needs an active owner who can handle his size and continue his training. He is a loyal, oversized best friend waiting for his forever home!
