Story
Saxa is a very loving and affectionate dog. She is attentive and knows basic commands. Fully potty trained, leash trained, and crate trained. Saxa will need to be in a home with very experienced owner, as well as being an only dog home. She loves going on walks and sitting outside. Rides well in the car and loves having her head out the window. Please email renegaderescuega@gmail.com for an application. June 26, 2024, 12:15 am

Story
Hi! My name is Sebastian. I was born April 17, 2023. I am a handsome, loving, and goofy black-brindle cane corso pup. I am a very distinguished gentleman who loves playing and is exceptionally food-motivated. I am looking for a forever home that doesn't have any small or any high-energy dogs. I am a big guy, and I put off basset hound kind of vibes. I have about 15 minutes of zoomies to every 10 hours of chill. I love women, I am ok with men, but only older kids, please. I don't want to get in trouble for knocking anyone over for hugs. I need a home with an owner who has cane corso experience or giant breed experience. A fence is going to be a must for me. My foster momma is my favorite person right now, foster dad is good too, and they are teaching me how to be housebroken. I know how to sit, down, shake, and quiet, but you shouldn't expect results without treats!  Please email renegaderescuega@gmail.com for an application. June 26, 2024, 12:15 am

Story
There’s no place like home… let’s find Whiskey one! Whiskey was born at BCAR three years ago, and sadly, while his five littermates and his mom were all long-ago adopted, he has lived his whole life at the shelter. One of our volunteers brought Whiskey home for a couple of days, and here’s what he’s like in a home. Please share this with everyone you know and let’s find Whiskey a home of his own! Whiskey is a loving dog with a great disposition. He will make a beloved pet for a person or family who is active, likes to walk or run every day, lives in a quieter environment, likes to talk and interact with their dog, will take cues from Whiskey about his comfort level with different, new situations and people and make accommodations accordingly. He is a sweet, loving, trusting, smart dog – Whiskey is everything you want in a companion dog. Whiskey is people-focused. He is a BCAR volunteer favorite and gets along with the other dogs as long as they keep their distance. He will run/walk several miles a day, with a couple of other 5-10 minute outings during the day. He is not an alpha dog but you would want him to be the only dog in his home. Whiskey has had a lot of obedience training. He does not bark and is house trained. He was not destructive. He is not mischievous, does not chew items, doesn’t have separation anxiety, and he doesn’t shed. He’ll sit beside you on the sofa for hours, and even watches TV! His cons? He is nervous of new noises – the dishwasher, the icemaker, thunder. And he is reactive to other dogs when walking. Being cognizant of this, you can act accordingly and prevent issues. Whiskey is a good, all-night sleeper, either in his own bed, or yours, your preference! All BCAR dogs are placed as indoor family pets. No electric fences, please. Visit pets every Saturday 11:00 am to 2:00 pm (706-268-1346) or visit our website for adoption information at www.bigcanoeanimalrescue.org.
