WE CAN’T LET HER SUFFER ANY LONGER. Carmen was pulled for a foster after someone saw her video at Clayton and knew she needed to be saved. She has an allergy to fleas and ticks, which requires a once a month medication that we will provide. Her hair is now growing back beautifully. She loves pets, belly rubs, leash walks, playing tug of war, and going bye bye. When I picked her up for a checkup, she was wagging her tail, asking for attention, giving my stepdad kisses, and proving she’s a five star car rider. God only knows how badly I want to bring her home, but I am full, more than full. Carmen has been to board and train for temperament training and passed with flying colors, so no training is needed. She does have obedience training. She has had temperament tests with dogs, passing them at daycare and the vet where she showed no issues. She is trusting, sweet, and deserves to be spoiled for the rest of her life because obviously she has never truly been cared for. Shes equal parts goofy, affectionate, and entertaining. Mandy is wonderful on leash and walks with minimal pulling, though she may occasionally stop to admire a squirrel or bird along the way. She has done well with other dogs and would likely love a canine playmate of a similar size. She often wants to greet and play with dogs she meets on walks and has shown neutral behavior around cats she encounters outdoors. At home, shes a dream companion who sleeps through the night and enjoys lounging on the couch between play sessions. This smart girl is eager to learn and highly food motivated. In just a short time in foster care, she has already mastered commands like sit, paw, and place, and is currently working on down and stay. Mandy loves toys, treats, kibble, fetch, and tug-of-war, and shes always ready for a game if youre willing to join in. Because she can sometimes get a little overexcited during roughhousing, she would likely do best with older children or an adult-only home that can continue teaching her good manners. Mandys foster family cant believe she ever ended up as a stray. Shes a beautiful, loving dog with so much potential and is searching for a forever family that will keep up her training, make time for daily play, and maybe share a peanut butter spoon or two.
