Story
Maybe you can help us solve a little mystery: Why hasn’t Scrappy Doo had any serious applications in almost a year? Let's unmask the mystery, like Scrappy's namesake cartoon, and turn this puzzle into a satisfactory ending for our guy. Scrappy Doo is a happy, playful, social dude who likes everyone he meets – human or dog. He is good with kids, and he is fun and pretty adorable with that charming smile of his. He is about 3 years old, weighs just under 60 lbs. and is a Pittie/Mastiff Cane Corso mix. He came into foster because someone witnessed one of his previous people physically hurting our sweet guy. In spite of how he was treated, Scrappy sees the best in people and is one of those triumphant spirits who has his compass firmly pointed in the direction of living his best life and never looking back. He has the most endearing bow legs, and his ears make different decisions every day about which way to point. He loves his toys and his friends, and just wants to have a good time. After playtime, he likes to cuddle up with his people and snuggle right in. He likes to play and mix it up with other dogs, and he definitely gets along with all of them. Recently we’ve discovered that some of his previous mistreatment may have physically affected him more than we realized. So, he should live with a dog(s) who he can banter with but maybe not play too rough and tumble, so he doesn’t get hurt. Or, he’d do great as an only dog too, so you can dote on him every day. He is house trained and crate trained and knows how to behave around the house, like every good sidekick should. None of those clues above have helped us understand why Scrappy has lingered in foster for this long – what do you think? He’s just a regular guy looking for a regular furever home where he’ll be appreciated for the rest of his life. Is that your home? Scrappy Doo is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and current on heartworm preventative and flea/tick prevention. His adoption fee is $175. Story
Hi all! I’m Toaster! My friends call me Toast for short. I’m not really sure how I got my name. Although the more that I think about it, maybe it’s because when you meet me, I will make your heart all warm and toasty? Yes, I think maybe that HAS to be it! Mystery solved! Although since I solve mysteries so well, maybe I should have been named Scooby Doo! Anyhow, before I get distracted, let me tell you some things about me. I’m about 5 years old and they think I’m a mastiff or Cane Corso mix. So I’m kind of a big guy! But that doesn’t mean I have a big head! I mean, PHYSICALLY I do have a big head. What I mean is I don’t have a big head like a big ego. Gosh, sometimes it’s difficult to communicate in human. Really, I’m just a happy guy, who is extremely curious about new things. I love going on walks and checking everything out with my nose. I really love checking out storm drains and sewers. I mean, you never know what might be living in them! I seem to like to meet new people on my walks, too. I usually walk quite nicely on the leash unless I see something I really want to check out, and then I forget not to pull. It’s hard to remember to walk nicely when you seek something really interesting! But I’m more than happy to work on my leash manners a bit. I absolutely love riding in the car, and I am VERY well behaved riding in the car. I also love to play with toys like tennis balls and stuffies. I will admit, I sometimes think I’m the size of a puppy and I often get bouncy like a puppy! And I’ve been known to do zoomies when I get really excited. It seems to make everyone laugh. And I sure like making people laugh. I’ve been known to give big slurpy kisses and to “hug” people when I think they need it. So I hope you like kisses and hugs. I like when humans pet me, but I much prefer booty scratches to head scratches. (I’ll let you in on a little secret; many dogs prefer that!) I think there’s almost nothing as good as a good booty scratch. Except maybe car rides. I’m pretty good at sitting when asked, and I’m learning new things. I just haven’t had a whole lot of training with such requests, but I am receiving some now and I love to learn! Especially when learning is accompanied by some tasty treats! I am NOT a fan of cats. Well, I mean I AM a fan of CHASING cats, but that activity seems to be frowned upon. So I need a home without cats. In fact, I'd like to be your one and only pet, if you don't mind. If you are interested in making your heart feel all Toasty, or want to find out more about me, please call/text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387.
