Story
Meet Xena! She's a true guy's dog trapped in a shelter staffed mostly by females. She takes time to warm up and bond and picks and chooses her friends carefully, but her whole demeanor changes meeting men and she is ready to leave us behind and jump in a truck with just about any guy she meets. Xena needs to be the only dog in an adult home that understands corso's and their protective and selective nature. She is looking for someone who will give her time and space at first until she gets comfortable and who will love her unconditionally in her senior years. Please submit an application from our website to open your home to our gentle giant... she's a smaller corso at 80lbs. Primary Color: Grey Secondary Color: Blue Brindle Age: 10yrs 5mths 3wks

Story
Dixie, a beautiful girl that we got when she was pregnant because the owner was in jail and the person who took care of her, well, it was too much for him. Dixie gave birth to beautiful babies and was the best mother. We fell in love with her, and we couldn't let her go back, to leave outside, on a big highway, running around, and in danger of being hit by a car or getting pregnant again, NO!! We spayed her and asked the owner to give her to us. It took some time to convince him and some $$ to change his mind. And now, she is finally safe with us and ready to come to NJ when she finds her new perfect home. Dixie was said to be about two years old, fully vaccinated, spayed, and in good health. She is about 90 lbs now; when she came in pregnant, she was only 65 lbs, a malnourished girl. We've been told she is a Can-Corso and Shepherd mix, but as always, we can't guarantee it. Her foster says she is very obedient, She's learning how to fetch and return, She walks on a leash, She is heartworm negative. Up to date on shots, loves to be loved on. She would love a big fenced backyard Another friendly and playful dog in the house. Because of her size and because she likes to jump for hugs and kisses, kids 14 and older She is a happy, loving girl. Arriving in NJ on March 18th. She would love to go to a family of her own. Story
Meet Vito (Lee)! Sweet Vito (Aka Lee) was adopted when he was just about two months old by a nice family with a young kid (you can see his baby picture above and his beautiful mother). Although they all love Vito, life has its own agenda, and unfortunately, Vito needs a new loving home. Vito is now seven months old and weighs 60 lbs. Vito is cat, kid, and dog friendly but afraid of dominant or aggressive dogs. He is crate trained, He knows commands like Sit, Down, and Wait. He will sit and wait for the food. He is up to date on his vaccines but not yet neutered, which is done not before one year or later with big breeds. Your vet will decide when is the right time. Dixie, the big momma (in the pictures above), is a cane Corso and a German shepherd mix. Her weight is around 85-90 lbs. We don't know the father's breed. Lee was born on 10/19 to momma Dixie, one of 9 siblings. We would love to see Vito in a home with a fenced yard, another active, friendly dog to spend time with, and a loving family. The $150 deposit will be returned once the contract has been fulfilled. To apply to adopt, fill out an application at https://snarrnortheast.org/adopt/ FAQs -- PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE EMAILING All adoption fees are non-refundable Please note that SNARR NE is a volunteer-based organization. While our volunteers will try to respond to you as quickly as possible, it is helpful if you review the below information about our adoption process before emailing: LISTED BREED(S) & AGE: We are taking our best guess on age, breed, and size when fully grown, based on the puppy's/dog's physical appearance and what we might have learned about one or both parents depending on the situation. *NOTE* We rarely know a dog's exact age, nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. Because we often do not have access to medical records at the time that we are listing for dogs for adoption, there are sometimes discrepancies between what is posted on their profile and what might be listed on a dog's medical records. SNARR'S ADOPTION PROCESS: The first step in adopting or meeting a SNARR dog/puppy is to fill out an application at https://snarrnortheast.org/adopt/. Once we receive your application, one of our adoption application processors will contact you, review our adoption process with you, and answer any additional questions you may have. **We do not go on a first-come-first-serve basis for adoptions, but on best fit for a family and most importantly the puppy or dog. ** MEETING ADOPTABLE DOGS: Meet and greets will not be scheduled until after your adoption application has been fully processed and approved by one of our adoption processors. APPLYING ONLINE: If you fill out an online application, please do so from a computer (not a mobile device), make sure you answer ALL the questions in as much detail as possible, and that you receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation email, that means we did NOT receive your application. ##1620215##
