Story

Moana is a 2-year-8-month-old Cane Corso mix and the daughter of my two Cane Corsos. She was previously living with another family who surrendered her. Once I found out she was in a shelter, I picked her up immediately. She recognized me right away and was very happy. I currently have her parents, two Golden Retrievers, and two cats, so my home is very full. As much as I would love to keep her I already have a full home, but I do want to find Moana a home where she can truly thrive. When she first came back to me, she was nervous and untrained, but with patience and structure she has made great progress and is now potty trained. She adjusted well to my son who she just met through slow, positive introductions and now moves comfortably around the home. She gets along well with my dogs and does well with other pets, and I believe she would thrive in a home with animals. Moana is spayed and may take time to adjust to new people and environments but responds well to calm, consistent care.

Icarus is a super playful, energetic, and friendly puppy. He has a love for difficult puzzle games, fetch, and squeaky toys. Along with his regular food bowl he has a ball puzzle food dispenser to give him the mental challenge he needs while eating. Icarus needs a lot of outside time and physical space to run and play. Icarus would thrive in a home with children and is best in a home with a decent yard. He has a puppy playful temper around other dogs and has been around an older dog. An active household would best fit his needs! Icarus is trained to sit and lay on command, he is crate trained but may have some slight separation anxiety once bonded. I am not aware of his vaccinations or medical history. I was informed Icarus is a Cane Corso mix which this breed has a mild tolerance to chicken so we have avoided this in his diet.

King is a great dog. He’s very loving he loves to be pet. He’s truly an affectionate dog. He’s great with others great around children. I have four kids ranging from 12yrs to 6 months and I have never had an issue. He great around other dogs. His size smaller dogs are intimidated by him. He knows the command sit,stay, no and eat. Unfortunately, I do not have the time that he needs. He is a very active dog and I cannot provide him with the lifestyle he deserves, and I hope that I can find someone to take good care of him.

Meet Aaliyah - our 6-year-old, 78 pound girl who is 100% love and gentleness. She was brought to Manhattan ACC after her former owner passed away, and is now thriving in foster care with ELO This beautiful girl is the definition of a low-maintenance companion! Aaliyah is fully house trained and crate trained, sleeping peacefully through the night without a peep. Despite her size and strength, she’s an absolute dream on the leash - she walks on a loose leash with no reactivity to other dogs or any passing stimuli, and makes every stroll feel effortless. Aaliyah has a heart full of love for everyone she meets! She’s friendly with both people (especially loves kids!) and other dogs, and her sweet, social nature makes her a joy to be around (she won over her foster's apartment doorman in approximately 30 seconds and is now his favorite dog in the building). She already knows “sit”, "stay", "down", and "crate" and is eager to learn more commands, especially when treats are involved. If you’re looking for a mellow, easygoing companion, Aaliyah is your girl. She’s a champion snoozer who loves to lounge the day away, making her perfect for apartment living or anyone who appreciates a calm presence. She’ll happily settle wherever you are, content to just be by your side. When she’s awake, you’ll find her playing with her beloved stuffy toys or rolling over for belly rubs and ear scratches! Aaliyah is also wonderfully patient and comfortable with all kinds of handling (e.g. having her paws wiped after walks). We’re currently working on building her confidence when left alone, and she’s already making great progress!
