This big girl is still a little shy at the kennel. She’s been through a whole lot of changes in the last couple weeks. She was picked up as a Ray who had been sprayed by a skunk. So she had to get treated for the skunk spray And then come to the kennel where she’s adjusting to all of the other dogs and all of the chaos. Meet Bertha! This beautiful girl is 5 years old. She came to us through a humane case through the City of Pittsburgh. Despite her past, she is very interested in people, but she does need to get to know you first. She is a sweet and gentle Cane Corso. We are asking for adopters to have previous Cane Corso or guardian breed experience who know how to handle a pup of her size. Bertha would do well in a home with children 13 years or older who will respect her space and boundaries and be okay with a large dog. Story
Jasmine had a terrible life until she came to the rescue. She was a breeding mother at an Amish puppy mill. When she couldn’t breed anymore, she was surrendered to us rather than be euthanized. Jazzy is a 6 year old cane corso, completely vetted, and housebroken. She wants all the attention she can get. She doesn’t care that she’s the size of a person. She still thinks you should hold her and that she can be a lap dog. She loves stuffies, especially long ones like snakes and caterpillars. She also likes going on walks, playing in the yard, and running around with the zoomies. We’ve been trying to work on some training, unfortunately time here is limited for that. She has learned sit and place. She is extremely treat motivated. Someone with more time would likely be able to teach her with ease. She is extremely stubborn though, so she will need someone with Corso or similar breed experience. She also can resource guard. It does seem to be at a minimum with people now, however she will still guard with other dogs. Overall though, she is a happy and loving dog. Her little nub tail is alway wiggling. Please help us find a place for Jasmine. This girl was used for the first 3/4 of her life. Let her be loved for the last part of it.

Harold is a 6-year-old gentle giant with a heart of gold! This sweetheart who’s been through a lot but hasn’t let it dull his sparkle. When he first arrived on April 26, 2025 he was emaciated and in need of some serious TLC—but with lots of love, a great care plan, and his own determination, Harold is now 95 pounds and has a whole new lease on life. Don’t let his size fool you—Harold is a big softie with a calm, affectionate nature. He’s got a goofy charm, a spunky spirit, and a heart that’s as big as his paws. Despite his not-so-graceful coordination (which only adds to his charm!), he gets around just fine and never misses a chance to show off his happy nub wiggles and soulful eyes. Harold still has weight to gain, but he’s completely vetted and adoption-ready. He’d thrive in a home where he can continue to be on a good diet, get daily belly rubs, and be the loyal, loving companion he was always meant to be. If you're looking for a resilient, kind-hearted dog who will make you smile every single day—Harold is your guy. 💙

He’s an amazing dog I hate having to rehome him he’s free to the best family possible. He loves kids and other dogs. Just no super small children he doesn’t bite but he’s very big and doesn’t know how big he is. He’s potty trained. He shakes hands. He says please. He sits. And speaks. I recently had a baby and he’s too much to handle on top of a newborn. Chewbacca try’s to give him kisses but he’s just too big. And I can’t take the Risk of him stepping on him. No cats we have 3 cats he won’t hurt them but he will chase them. Really overall he’s so sweet and loves to cuddle and be up your but with whatever you are doing. He also likes to steal shoes lol. But like I said he really is amazing I just don’t have the time for him and I can’t have him jumping on my baby.
