I got Skye from a shelter back in 2023 when I was stationed at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. She is a senior dog going on 7 years in August. She loves people and other dogs, walking, playing tug of war with rope, and cuddling. Though she is getting up there in age she loves to be active with her people. I would describe her as very loving and very stubborn but her stubbornness goes away with a little food or ice. If you’re an outdoor lover during the day and a cuddler at night Skye is your girl.

She is about 65 lbs. She knows basic commands, is crate trained and uses the doggy door. She loves to play outside in the yard or inside with her bones. She also loves to cuddle with her people. Her journey to this point has been nothing short of remarkable. She had a tough start to life, found by a kind soul who saw she was severely burned from head to tail. Thanks to exceptional veterinary care and the loving attention of her medical foster, she’s now healthy and thriving. Phoenix had a tough start to life and is going to need someone who will be patient with this sweet girl to help her feel safe. She will need a home where she can be the only dog.
