* Courtesy Post* Hi everyone, my name is Red! I’m a Basenji mix, little over a year old and weigh just over 30 lbs. Don’t let my name or my past scare you — even though I came from a very abusive situation where I wasn’t loved or cared for, I’m now with an amazing foster family who has shown me that good people do exist. I’m learning every day that not everyone wants to hurt me, and I’m opening up so beautifully. I’m looking for a forever family with: A yard, so I can play and explore, A cozy spot in your bed (snuggles are my favorite!) Someone who’s home often, because I get anxious when I’m left alone I’m a very smart boy — I’ve already learned how to use the doggy door! Everyone who meets me calls me a gentle giant and says my heart shines through my eyes. My foster mom named me Red because of my beautiful coloring and my sweet, warm personality. A few more things about me: I love other dogs, especially ones close to my size who are gentle but playful. Cats? I’m not quite sure what they are yet — I might accidentally scare them! I enjoy walks, but I have an injured leg, so short, easy strolls are best for me. I’m incredibly loving, loyal, and just want to be close to my humans. If you think I might be your perfect match, please submit an adoption application. Everyone who meets me says I have the most gentle spirit — I’m just a good boy looking for a safe place to call home.
