Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Don’t be fooled by the name—Shrimp is no tiny sidekick! She’s a 50lb goofball with a heart as big as her zoomies. Originally adopted as a puppy, this little wigglebutt was returned when her humans realized she needed more action than couch naps and the occasional stroll. Now about a year old, Shrimp is on the hunt for a fun-loving forever home where she can live her best life. She’s totally into other dogs (big or small—she doesn’t discriminate), adores older kiddos, and is fully housebroken. As for manners? Let’s just say... she’s working on it and needs your help to set boundries. Shrimp would love an adventurous family—hiking trails, beach days, or just a good old-fashioned run around the yard. If you’re active, silly, and ready to have a four-legged best friend who keeps you laughing, Shrimp might just be your soulmate. Shrimps adoption fee includes her spay, vaccines, and a microchip.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 8, 2025, 9:29 pm

Story
How this pet arrived: Dingo was brought in by his previous owner. Why Dingo might be the one for you:Meet Dingo, an energetic, sweet and cuddly fellow with a perpetual smile on his face because Dingo is one happy dog. Dingo has been on frequent outings with volunteers and has done well. Volunteers say that he is easy to leash and walks well, however, he is a big strong guy and sometimes pull on the leash. On walks, he is outgoing and solicits attention from everyone he meets. He is not shy. He thrives on daily outings, hikes, puzzle toys and plenty of sniffing adventures. Dingo is full of love for his people and would do best as the only dog in the home where he can soak up all your affection- but does well with particular dog friends on play dates! He's a smart pup who will benefit from continued positive reinforcement training. If you're searching for a lively, loving companion, Dingo might just be your perfect match! At SDHS:Dingo has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Dingo is now ready for his new home!Dog Reactive Dog:  This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Story
Meet Marie! This girl is always down for adventure (unfortunately, without her people)! This girl has gotten lose 4 different times from adopters and fosters and has trekked from North County to South County of San Diego prior to landing with us. With the proper adopter, this girl is aiming to please, does great with dogs and is devoted to her inner circle of people. Due to her ability to escape, she can NEVER be left unattended (crated when you are gone or can't keep an eye on her) and walked on a double leash. We know this doesn’t make her sound like the most appealing dog in the world, but we promise you, once you meet her, the extra safety measures won't seem that bad.  She wants nothing more than to please and be with her people.  Her escape tendencies come from years living at large in the desert and protecting her pups.  She can jump (impressively), climb, leverage, dig, you name it.  Loud noises and the unexpected scare her.  She has blossomed from being aloof to approaching every new person looking for food and love.  She is loyal, loving, kind and forgiving.  She is solid with dogs and balanced with a neutral mate.  She loves to explore the world on leash and just hang out if that is preferred.  It's been a year in the making but she is more than ready to graduate to her future home.  She needs a forever that will keep her safe no matter what and she'll love your forever in return. Because of my Flight Risk I cannot be left unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures and my new family must be aware of open doors and windows.  NO offleash activities in unfenced areas for life. Story
She’s a beautiful mix breed with a smile that'll brighten any day! I'm 1 1/2 year old and weigh in at about 38 pounds. Perfect lap dog size if you ask me! If she fits. She’s a silly and sweet girl who charm's the socks off of everyone she meet. She still have some playful puppy energy but also love a good afternoon snooze! She does well with other dogs, do well in my crate and enjoy going for walks. She can be a little shy with new people but once she warms up her silly side comes out. If you're looking for an affectionate, loyal pup to hang by your side, apply for her! She can't wait to find her forever home.

Story
Oliver is a loving and sweet boy who needs someone to provide the attention he deserves. Oliver does come with his problems like every dog. He has separation anxiety, gets protective over his family, and sometimes will keep you up at night if he gets lonely. He loves to go for long walks, play fetch, cuddle on the couch, and go for runs. Oliver needs someone who works from home, active, and likes to go for long car rides where he can stick his head out and smell the fresh air. We want him to go to someone who is going to take really good care of him and give him the love he deserves. Oliver would be better off being an only dog. He is also a lover of toilets so beware haha. We would love to get to know about you and your life style, as well as, why you are looking to adopt Oliver!
