Meet Drue… she was abandoned in a kennel facility by her owner where she stayed for two years. Drue was about to be sent to a high kill shelter, as the kennel facility was closing. Another organization found out about her situation and took her under their wing to save her life. Now, she needs a new home, and a family to call her own. Drue is approximately 4 years old, around 60 lbs. She is mellow, great with all people and great with all dogs, non-reactive to cats. Very, very sweet girl! She loves toys and is crate trained (she often takes her toys into the crate with her). If you would like to offer Drue a happily ever after, please contact us. Hi, my name is Sugar. I am 8 months old. I weigh 33 pounds. I am energetic,playful,affectionate and unfortunately anxious. I love playing fetch but I wont let go. I enjoy being outside. I am very eager to make friends. I can only do short walks because loud noises scare me. I need to be put in my crate when you eat, otherwise I'll eat off your plate. I can be pretty restless. I don't know if I want to nap inside or outside. But I do love sleeping close to you in your bed. I want to say I'm house trained, but my frustration makes me have accidents. The reason I am looking for a new home is because of my separation anxiety. Its really bad. I start to whimper whenever my owner goes to the bathroom. I feel alone even though I AM NEVER ALONE. I think that I will be better with another dog and or rural space. I have a "pack mentality". Much more at ease with two or more people. Meet Marie! This girl is always down for adventure (unfortunately, without her people)! This girl has gotten lose 4 different times from adopters and fosters and has trekked from North County to South County of San Diego prior to landing with us. With the proper adopter, this girl is aiming to please, does great with dogs and is devoted to her inner circle of people. Due to her ability to escape, she can NEVER be left unattended (crated when you are gone or can't keep an eye on her) and walked on a double leash. We know this doesn’t make her sound like the most appealing dog in the world, but we promise you, once you meet her, the extra safety measures won't seem that bad.  She wants nothing more than to please and be with her people.  Her escape tendencies come from years living at large in the desert and protecting her pups.  She can jump (impressively), climb, leverage, dig, you name it.  Loud noises and the unexpected scare her.  She has blossomed from being aloof to approaching every new person looking for food and love.  She is loyal, loving, kind and forgiving.  She is solid with dogs and balanced with a neutral mate.  She loves to explore the world on leash and just hang out if that is preferred.  It's been a year in the making but she is more than ready to graduate to her future home.  She needs a forever that will keep her safe no matter what and she'll love your forever in return. Because of my Flight Risk I cannot be left unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures and my new family must be aware of open doors and windows.  NO offleash activities in unfenced areas for life. Meet Redford, an 8 yr old medium sized pooch at 43 lbs. Redford was just saved from a local kill shelter on his last day. This older boy has a second chance at life and he'd love to meet you. In the shelter Redford struggled. He paced, he was anxious, he was aloof. He was temperament tested with an older female dog and staff finally saw him wag his tail. Now he is out of the shelter, we want to see him have love in his life, and know what it is like to be a cherished pet. Redford appears to be an independent dog, but as he is just leaving the shelter, we look forward to learning more from his rescue about his personality. If you can give an older dog a fresh start and wish to long term foster or adopt, please inquire for an application.
