K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
Piper is a 4 year old rescue dog. She is a very kind and affectionate dog who loves people and our older dog, but struggles with excessive jumping, barking and scratching, and she is prone to frequent bouts of sudden over-excitement. She also suffers from anxiety, especially with separation and thunderstorms. She is a very loving, friendly dog, however she needs a lot of attention and large amounts of exercise. Now having 2 small children, and with our older dog less willing to run around with her, we are unable to give Piper the level of attention and exercise that she needs. She is not aggressive, however does tend to bark at new dogs and can be defensive over food. And while she is not in any way aggressive towards our children, her levels of energy and excitement around them does lead to them occasionally being knocked over or scratched. We are hoping to find someone to give Piper the levels of attention and exercise she needs, ideally with another active dog for company!
