Story
Meet Ocho! Ocho is a loving, playful pup who was rescued on Beltway 8 and has been an absolute joy ever since! He fit right in with his foster's dogs, quickly making friends with his kind and gentle nature. He’s always ready for snuggles and scratches, rubbing up against you for attention and love. This well-behaved boy is fully potty trained—no accidents in the house! He’s respectful of the home, sleeps soundly through the night in his own space, and has adjusted wonderfully to a busy schedule. Ocho is young and active, so he enjoys walks, backyard zoomies, and playtime with his furry friends. He’s not much of a barker but loves following his foster's dogs around, learning from them as he goes. One of his favorite things? Treats—especially dog cookies! And if you love to dance, Ocho will happily join in, making every moment even more fun. Ocho is truly a special dog with so much love to give. He would be the perfect addition to any home looking for a sweet, loyal companion! ****OCHO IS CURRENTLY IN TX, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep's Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc.). Our adoption fee is $350 plus health certificate ($50) transport ($200). This adoption fee includes all current basic vaccinations, deworming, microchip (with lifetime registration), fecal analysis, neuter, and a heartworm test. All dogs are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of transport. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/generic. You can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.Dog's Name:  Hugo (HUG0425OWSMD)Estimated Breed:  Carolina Dog mix Approximate Age:  3-4 years Approximate Weight:  49 lbs Currently Living at:  BoardingAdoption Fee:  $400DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Say Hi to Hugo! He is an active young boy, smart and playful. He especially loves to play fetch and tug. Unfortunately, he needs rehoming because his people must move out of the country. Hugo is well trained, intelligent and loves to learn new tricks. He is also social with people, but is shy around other dogs. Even though Hugo has lived in an apartment since he was a puppy, his ideal home would be a bigger apartment or even a home with a yard, so he has some space to get his zoomies out. He is a good boy and is not a barker, which makes for a more peaceful living arrangement. Hugo would be a good fit for most any household, ideally one that appreciates his playful energy and intelligence, and provides him with the love he deserves. Fill out an application today for Hugo, and let him bring a ray of sunshine into your life!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. I'm sweet as sugar and twice as nice. I love playing with my friends. I'm gentle with everyone I meet, and I've got energy to spare. I've been told I'm quite smart, too! I'm almost potty trained, which I'm super proud of. And when playtime's over, there's nothing I love more than curling up for a cuddle. I'm a real cuddle bug! I get along great with other dogs, so if you have a furry friend at home, we'll be best pals in no time. So, why should you adopt me? Story
Femona is an energetic, affectionate, and playful pup who loves sniffy walks and games that make her brain work. She`s incredibly smart and eager to please, which helps her pick up commands fast. She’s been working on sit, down, wait, off, and crate, and can’t wait to show you.She LOVES people and will happily be your little shadow around the house. At about 35 pounds, Femona is the perfect size — she isn’t a tiny pup who will trip you accidentally when underfoot, but she can’t drag you down the street either. She’s still working on her loose leash walking skills — especially when she spots a squirrel or a few birds.Though she’s very friendly, she’s probably not best suited to a home with a cat or other small animals. She’ll thrive with an active family who wants to take her on long walks and play lots of fetch and tug. Femona is a dear young gal ready for a frisky, action-filled life with you. Please meet her soon.Femona is in a foster home! To meet her, email her foster caregiver at madisonsfosterpets@gmail.com

Please contact Jodi Rosenberg (jodi.rosenberg@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Cute boy, looking for a fresh startEZRA  NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:    Ezra        Best Guess for Breed:    Carolina dog/Corgi mix Best Guess for Age:    3 years as of March 2025    Gender:   male Approximate Weight:    31 lbs. Gets Along With: other dogs. We haven't seen him with kids or cats but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters Currently Living At: South Carolina rescue campus. He needs a forever or foster home. Special Adoption Considerations: Ezra is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Ezra is Looking For: his forever home to explore all the adventures you can dream up for him.  He is still in his prime and has plenty of energy for outdoor fun and will love walks, hikes, and trips to the dog park. Meet Cooper, a sweet and gentle dog with a heart of gold! A mixed breed of Carolina dog & Basenji. estimated to be around 3 years old and about 56 pounds. Cooper is a happy-go-lucky dog who loves to cuddle and go on long walks. He's a bit weird with strangers at first, but once he warms up, he's a real sweetheart, unless he sees a squirrel then all bets are off haha. Cooper’s gentle nature makes him a perfect companion for a family with children or an individual seeking a loyal friend. He's also a good listener and loves to be petted. Buddy is house-trained and knows basic commands. He enjoys daily walks and is definitely not a picky eater. Ready to give Cooper a loving home?
