Story
Meet Blue Bella!Miss Blue Bella is 8 years old and looking for a fresh start. Her owner was unable to keep her due to housing instability so she landed on our doorstep and has been so sweet but very ready for her next adventure. She is approximately 30 pounds, very lean and a great size for lots of hiking or activity and perfect size for snuggling on the couch or in bed with you! She comes to us with some fear but once she`s comfortable she enjoys the company of people. She doesn`t have a ton of experience meeting other dogs so she avoids them mostly. She is looking for an adopter that will give her the time and patience to familiarize herself with her new home and the noises and activity that come along with it. Her adoption includes support from our staff to ensure you are able to see the goofy, sweet and playful side of this sweet girl! A quieter home, outside of the city with plenty of space to go on walks would be ideal. If she sounds like the dog for you please drop by our Boston location to meet her!Blue Bella is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY however, we are unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements. For more information on Blue Bella or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston please visit us during our adoption center hours: Wednesdays-Sundays from 1:00PM – 6:00PM, Tuesdays by appointment only from 1:00PM – 6:00PM, closed Mondays & Holidays. Story
This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally. **Please read Patron Spirits' entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!** Meet Patron Spirits, an 8-week-old Carolina Dog/Anatolian Shepherd mix, weighing 13 pounds (as of 1/30/26)! Patron hails from our SPIRITS litter and was born in Tennessee to nice, mellow medium-to-large breed dogs. While the owner is keeping Momma, this litter was surrendered so they could find a top-shelf fur-ever home in New England! The best thing about Patron is that he brings the fun of Mexico to you! He's an exuberant boy who's the perfect companion for anyone who needs a night out! Bonus points is that he also loves kids and plays with other dogs, so he'll be the most popular boy on your block! Even strangers will come up and ask to party with you (but you gotta check with Patron because you can't just invite any Joe Schmoe!) Since Patron is still young, he'll need some help with puppy training, crates and commands from his future family. In exchange for your help, he'll give you complimentary glasses from all the places he's traveled (mainly Tennessee, but hey! Have YOU been to Tennessee? If not, then take the win.) Patron can't wait to add some fun flavor to your family! Bring this sweet boy home today! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. To adopt or learn more about Patron Spirits, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $575] ** PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.

Gin was born born in Tennessee to nice, mellow medium-to-large breed dogs (pictured) which means as she grows, there'll be more to love! While her Momma is staying with their owner, Gin is ready to move onto bigger and better i.e. a classy New England home with you! Gin is a playful puppy who'll constantly keep you entertained with her antics and cuteness. But why keep her all to yourself? Gin is great with kids and other dogs, so you should definitely bring her to your next family picnic. Everyone will be so distracted by her friendliness, they won't even ask you about your depressing love life! It's a win-win! Gin would be great in a patient home where she can master puppy training and obedience school with tender loving care. She can't wait to grow and be the best companion for you! So don't be sad that your Bumble date ghosted! Gin will be right here with all the love you need! Adopt this cuddly girl today! Story
Arlo is a sweet 3 year old dog. He is intelligent, playful and sometimes goofy. He loves his basketball and will bop it with his nose to keep it rolling and chasing it or pick it up and goof around. He has a good disposition and has been well behaved with other dogs. Right now he goes to daycare twice a week and has done very well. He would thrive in an active environment. A farm or home with a backyard and a playmate would be ideal. Arlo has separation anxiety so he would need an experienced adopter who can be with him the first few weeks to work with him on staying alone. So far I haven't found anything that rattles him, he has not been bothered by fireworks, wheel chairs or sudden loud noises. He is curious and friendly his ears are usually pinned flat against his head when greeting you. The adopter will have to be able to afford to properly care for Arlo. If the right person comes along we can re-address the fee. Thank you.

Story
We adopted Koga when he was around 7 months old from a shelter. He is fearful of people he doesn't know, but once he knows you he is very sweet. He is now 9 years old and healthy other than his anxiety issues. His anxiety is something we have worked on non stop, however with our oldest child becoming a toddler his anxiety has started to affect other pets and our children. He needs a home with no children and no other pets. He also needs someone with patience as it takes him some time to get used to new people. His favorite thing to do is play fetch with a ball. He also loves neck and chest rubs.
