Story

Say hello to Dodger, the 6-year-old, 52-pound bundle of joy with ears that could catch the wind! Dodger's charming personality and goofy antics are sure to steal your heart in an instant. He's an affectionate, intelligent, and playful pup who loves nothing more than spending time with his favorite people - could that be you? Dodger's journey hasn't been easy. Abandoned by his previous owner who had moved away, Dodger was left in a crowded shelter and was at risk of being euthanized due to space limitations. But his story took a turn for the better when he found a loving foster home where he blossomed into the sweet, obedient, eager to please dog he is today. When it comes to Dodger's favorite things, he's all about tummy rubs, rolling in the grass, and long walks. Car rides? He's there for them, tail wagging in excitement. Dodger is also great with toys and is known to be a lap pet who will happily curl up with you after a fun day of play. His goofy side will keep you smiling, and his loyalty will keep you feeling loved and cherished. Dodger would prefer to be the only dog in his future home; so he could get all your attention to himself. He's house-trained and leash-trained, and he'll make a wonderful addition to a home that's ready to never leave him behind. Dodger is fixed, up to date on immunizations, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $415. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this sweet, eager-to-please pup, apply to adopt DODGER LIZMAN today at EHRDOGS.ORG ! Good with dogs,

Story

Hi, I'm Jack Dixon; a handsome 61 lb Carolina Dog-type mix, about 4-5 years old. Before we talk about how awesome I am, just know: my adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor! More money in your pocket for a trip to the pet store! I made quite the journey from Georgia to New Jersey, and I am enjoying a life full of sunbathing, bird-watching, peaceful walks, car rides, and kind people. Before I was rescued and settled into foster, life wasn't such sunshine and rainbows. One day back then, another dog ambushed me because a female dog was nearby and in heat. I needed reconstructive surgery on my eye after that and thankfully, it was a success. My eye is perfectly normal, and I need no further treatment or medication. I am resilient and learning every day what it means to trust again with the help of a fantastic foster family. I'm a well-mannered gentleman-housebroken, crate-trained, and great on leash. I can be timid at first, but give me a little patience and TLC, and I'll warm up into your happy, affectionate sidekick. I'd love a calm home with a fenced yard, adults or older children, and perhaps a calm canine friend to help me feel at home. I'm neutered, microchipped, and up to date on my vaccines. My foster family says: "Jack is a quiet, gentle giant whose energy level is really adaptable to his family's activities throughout the day. He knows 'sit' and plays wonderfully with his canine foster siblings. He loves being part of the pack, whether he's outside watching the world, romping after tennis balls, or relaxing on the couch. Once he trusts you, he'll be your shadow. He's a sweet boy who just wants to be loved, and with a patient family who helps him build confidence, he'll blossom into a devoted companion." Are you Jack's furever pack? We think so! All you have to do is apply at ehrdogs.org to arrange a meet-and-greet with the happiest boy, JACK DIXON! Story

Meet Francy, the roughly 35-40 lb Carolina Dog Mix who is barely 10 months old and busting at the seams with nothing but love. Francy came to us as an owner surrender from a home where we are more than positive she was never shown love. However, she never received that memo. From the day Francy Baby walked through the doors she has shown nothing but love to everyone and everything she has contacted. Francy knows to sit, walks well on a leash, does good with kids, is very good with other dogs though she starts out a bit shy, and is very people driven. She wants nothing but to please the people around her and, bonus, she's fully vetted! Francy would truly make the perfect addition to any family, all she's waiting for is someone to give her the opportunity to have a true "Rags to Riches" story and find her "Happily Ever After". If you would like to meet this sweet girl, please fill out an adoption form at www.ehrdogs.org and be sure to ask for FRANCY SCAS! Story

Elsa is a spayed Carolina Dog mix born about April 2026. She’s extremely joyous, sweet and loving in her foster home. She has a lot of puppy energy, and once she gets that out, she is a cuddle bug. House training and crate training in progress, and she walks very well on a leash. She’s vocal if she’s inside and someone arrives, so you will be alerted if someone comes to your home which is great security. She is very good around other dogs, large and small, and also doesn’t bother the cats in her foster home. Elsa is such a great dog, contentedly waiting for her forever home and people. Adoption fee $75. This covers the cost of spay/neuter, DHPP, Rabies, Flea, tick, heart worm check, worm treatment, and microchip. To adopt, you need to first fill out an application. Go to: https://rutherfordcountyhumanesociety.org/dog-adoption-application/ We are located in Western North Carolina. Optional transport is weekly. After your application is approved, we will contact you regarding cost and delivery if you so desire.October 31, 2026, 5:35 pm
