Story
Allow me to introduce you to the one and only Belen! This furry little angel is not just your average rescue dog, oh no! She is the ultimate social butterfly, fluttering around with the grace of a delicate butterfly. Her days are filled with an insatiable desire to play and hang out with her foster sisters, making her the life of the party. And let me tell you, she's not just a dog lover, but a cat lover too! Belen's journey began on a gloomy, rainy day in the streets of Houston. She was lost and alone, but fate had a different plan for her. Once she found her way to safety, it didn't take long for her to decompress and reveal her true colors. Her beautiful, loving personality shone through like a ray of sunshine. This little superstar is definitely a team player and thrives in a home with another furry friend by her side. She's got all the manners down - housebroken, leash and crate trained like a pro! It's like she's been taking lessons from the best canine instructors out there. Now, here's the exciting part! We have special transports leaving Houston every two weeks, heading towards the picturesque Pacific Northwest with a delightful pit stop in Bellingham, Washington . This means our lovely Canadian residents can make the trip and pick up Belen, giving her the forever home she deserves. How amazing is that? If you're interested in learning more about Belen or want to submit an adoption application, fear not! Simply visit our website at www.springbranchrescue.org . We've got all the information you need right at your fingertips. So don't keep this precious gem waiting, take a leap of faith and give Belen the loving home she's been dreaming of! received.  If we are in Houston, then how can you see our posts?   Spring Branch Rescue has fosters all over the Pacific Northwest allowing us to post in specific cities. Yes our rescue is in Houston.  Our available animals live with foster families.  This is a win for you as the transition from our home to yours will be a much easier one.  We do have foster homes in your area.  This is why you are able to see our posts. Almost all our animals traveling have been adopted.  We have been doing this since 2019 and very successful.  Please take a look at our adopters reviews https://greatnonprofits.org/org/spring-branch-rescue.   Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future from a city that has an animal crisis.  We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wondering our streets.  So many have been dumped and cannot find their way home.  Many never even had a home and were born on the streets.  WE gave them a chance.  Every animal deserves a chance. ##1952068##

Hi there, Dwight here. I'm a really good boy! I am handsome, athletic, smart, snuggly, a perfect balance. I love other dogs, ignore cats, and really like kids. Going for walks and watching movies are two of my favorite things. The only thing holding me back from finding my forever family is my anxiety. I take some time to trust you but when I do, I give full body wiggles and the best smile! If you think you'd be willing to take a chance on me, I'd really love to love you.

Story
Meet Daisy B! Daisy B is a puppy very deserving of a loving forever home! Daisy B was the only surviving puppy from her litter. Mom and Dad were discovered near a hospital in a wooded area with this one little puppy. After a volunteer finally earned their trust, she was able to trap them and bring them to safety. Daisy B has been spayed and microchipped, she is also up-to-date on all her vaccines. Having had no human contact for the first few months of her life, Daisy B is extremely shy when she first meets you. It will take some time and patience to allow her to come out of her shell. As shy as she is, she has never shown any aggression towards humans nor animals. She is perfectly content in her kennel. She loves balls and is curious about toys. Daisy B is so quiet, and only has the occasional whine when she needs to go outside. Daisey B would greatly benefit from a confident and playful dog in the home. She would love nothing more than a playmate to teach her that humans aren't all so bad after all. Further, If she is adopted the first thing that needs to be done is to puppify your home, she will chew on anything of plastic, and she will swallow pieces. I keep the TV remotes put up, plastic buckets, shoes, etc. put away. For any questions about Daisy B or to fill out an adoption application, please apply at www.HTXdogRescue.org

Story
Pulled from the lake with a shattered front leg, Pancake was feral her first 6 mo. She’s been with us ~2.5 yrs since & bonded well to 2 adults & 2 teens. She is very smart: rings doorbell to go in/out, can sit, settle, spin, jump up, and stay on command; has AKCS CGC. Definitely not an alpha, which makes her reactive: on walks, after much training, she has minimal pulling and is calm meeting people, but reacts to sudden movements (wildlife, dogs.) At home she is anxious of strangers, growls & tries to herd them. We crate for safety when guests come over; she settles quickly. She plays full-on with other dogs at daycare, does not exhibit the same reactivity when with other dogs. Tri-pawed, she still walks ~2mi daily over 2 walks, & enjoys playing with toys. Pancake will do best in a home with other dogs to learn from, experienced owners and older kids. We love her but our chaotic schedule interferes with consistent training & extended periods of boarding caused reactivity setbacks.

Story
Looking for an active, smart boy who would love a structured home with plenty of exercise?  Chevy is your guy!     Chevy has been in our program for a few years now as he needs to go to that perfect home that understands him and his needs.  You see, Chevy is a working/herding breed of dog and was on his own to fend for himself for so long on the rough streets of Houston that he's leery of people until he gets to know you.  Chevy had been living under a truck for a while (it was a Chevy) while a Scout's Honor volunteer was working to gain his trust. He kept going every day to feed him and give him some attention. The business near where he was let him come onto their property and provided him some shelter.  Unfortunately, because there was a busy street nearby, Chevy got bumped by a few cars when he was out and about and lost a few teeth as a result.  Luckily, he did not sustain any significant injuries, and just needed to eat and get a bath.  Fast-forward a few years, Chevy is in boarding and loves other dogs and loves to play !  He is a high energy dog, but is also very smart and alert. He needs A LOT of exercise and positive reinforcement, but will pick up very quickly on what you are teaching him. He would be a great dog for agility or flyball!!  As long as you keep him busy and challenged he will impress you with how well he can learn things. He just wants someone who will give him the direction, attention and structure he wants/needs. He would make a great dog for an active home with NO kiddos.  Kiddos are just too unpredictable for this guy.  He also needs a home that understands how to properly introduce him to new people and watch his cues.  Chevy can be very protective of his people and area, so proper intros are a must.  He would do best in a home that does not have a lot of new people coming in/out. True to his Kelpie/Basenji breed, Chevy likes to herd and run and play .  Check out this video of him just having a grand time running - look at those turns!      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L81s-TWX9SA&feature=youtu.be  Kelpie's/Basenji's are unique problem solvers and will find a way to do whatever he deems necessary.  True to these breed, he will also be fierlcy protective of his family (getting back to proper intros).  Chevy fits these traits to a T, and anyone who knows and loves the herding breeds would just adore little Chevy!!   Chevy is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and micro-chipped.   Please contact us at info@scoutshonor.org if you are interested in fostering or adopting this precious guy!  You can read all about our foster and adoption process, as well as make a donation for his care, on our website at www.scoutshonor.org.    Scout's Honor Rescue is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill TX shelters. EIN # is 87-0773073 Follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/scoutshonorrescue or Instagram at www.instagram.com/scoutshonorrescue We have multiple ways to donate: Venmo:  @ScoutsHonor-Rescue Paypal: www.paypal.me/scoutshonorrescue   https://scoutshonor.org/take-action/donate/ We are strictly volunteer based, no salaries are paid and 100% of donations go towards rescuing dogs April 21, 2024, 9:22 pm

Story
Dani is a sweet, dainty girl. SHR rescued this doll just in the nick of time. She was out of time and on the euthanasia list. When we went to meet her and she was a little shy and seemed scared and overwhelmed by all the noise and commotion at the shelter. She was in her kennel with her tail between her legs and backed into the corner. However, once we got her outside somewhere quiet and calm she loosened up and began to want attention. By the time we left with her she was sitting up in the back seat looking out the window.    She is a medium sized dog and only weighs about 35 or 40 pounds. She looks to be a cross between a Basenji and a Shiba Inu. She is good with other dogs, as we tested her with three different dogs. (She also rode loose in the car with two other dogs and they are were friendly with each other).    Please consider giving Dani a chance. She just wants a nice comfortable place where she can be happy. Let’s get this little girl out of boarding and into a foster or forever home where she can flourish!  April 21, 2024, 9:22 pm
