Story
Update on Wormy: In the quiet time at the shelter with only one or two volunteers, Wormy's personality comes out. He will "call" to people to come and pet him (pet, not pick up). He has a very small voice, so you must listen for him. He loves to be petted. He is very comfortable when one of the older cats are with him. He alternates between rubbing the cat and then the person. He would probably do very well being adopted with another cat he is accustomed to be around. He has shown a great deal of affection for Little Gray, who is also a shier cat. It is something to consider when looking at Wormy. Whether he gets a wonderful, patient home or ends up being a "shop cat", I do believe he must have a companion to help him with a change. We have plenty of quite cats with the same personality who would love to get out of her and be his companion.Wormy is a nice cat who likes to keep to himself, that is unless you are another cat. He came here as a small kitten, abandoned at a Vet clinic that we frequently use. We don't know what his life was like before, but we know he likes people okay, but doesn't fully trust them. He will sit in the same room with you and will not run and hide. But he doesn't want to be picked up and is not real crazy about being approached. We are trying to figure out the best placement for Wormy. He has always been inside, so would not do well outside. He would be an excellent inside shop cat. He wouldn't bother workers or customers. He is not one who wreaks havoc so your items should be safe. He would also do well in a house where someone would just like a cat, but not a cat that bothers them. Yes, we know you are out there. He is a cat and he will do the job should some cricket or even something larger decides to come into your house. If you feel like you have the place for this guy to get out of the shelter, please contact us and let us know. If you feel that you could give him enough time to make him become more social, please let us know about that too. We want a life that Wormy and his adopter would be happy with.

Story
Valerie is the resident shelter cat. She has been here since the beginning. She has a collar that says "queen" because she is the queen. She loves to be loved on her terms. She also loves to bite on occasion, not to be mean, to let you know she i the ruler. She is picky about her food. She would eat her weight in treats, but she isn't allowed to any longer because of health issues they cause her.Valerie is nearly 8 years old and only known the shelter life. We all love her and she loves some of us. If you are the special person interested in an older, quirky, cantankerous at times cat and would like to let Val see what it is like to live in a home, let us know. We will set up a meeting -- and while we ensure all our cats go to good homes, Val's adopter may get a little extra vetting that most, but it would be wonderful for her to not have to live in a shelter.

Story
Patchy is now healthy, fully vetted and ready for her home. She has learned that the people are okay. In fact, she has become an attention hog! She will come up and look at you until you give her a nice pet. She is quite a talker also, so she will be telling you she's ready. If you are busy she may come up and let you know she is ready for her attention by reaching out to you and rubbing on you until you get the hint. She loves good long strokes. She will purr and you can almost see the smile on her cat face. One thing she still doesn't care for at this point is to be picked up. So right now, it is best to let her come to you, which doesn't take much doing, just call her name. Are you a person who wants a lovely tabby cat sitting on your couch waiting for you to sit beside her? Are you willing to give her some strokes and perhaps throw her some toys so that she can run and play? This is your girl. Come and meet Patchy and see if she will end up hanging out with you at your home? The only way you can be sure is to reach out and set up a meet and greet.Adoption Fee: $150Cut and Paste application: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1ct0QYvSBYVQvBXjU3oFPH7nMRnuzAob4K24LdDMRM8U/editPatchy was pulled from PAWS. They were full and had a long waiting list. She was very unsocialized with people and had little chance of getting adopted as she was. She needed to learn to trust people be receiving healthy food and having her medical needs provided. Floyd Felines stepped in to meet his physical needs and to interact with her to ensure that she learns to love and trust people.

Story
Sweet Cosmo, the little guy who is growing quickly into a cat, is still here waiting. Cosmo, the guy with the "bowl cut". He has been here since he was so very young that this is all he knows. Therefore he doesn't hate being at our shelter, but just think of how much he would love a home of his own. A place that he can have the personal attention he so craves. He would absolutely be over the moon if someone would give him a chance. He wants everyone to know he is not just another white and tabby cat, he is a special white and tabby cat!!! Want to find out for yourself? Good ... now is the time to set up an appointment to meet him. Don't Wait!!!Cosmo is now fully vetted and healthy and ready for his forever home. He likes to be petted and played with and run around like almost any healthy kitten. He will bring a lot of energy to your home. Look at that "hair line". For anyone who has wanted a cat with a bowl cut, he is the cat for you. Of course he will provide you with all kinds of fun and love. If you want to come and meet Cosmo, please contact us and set up an appointment.A large group of kittens were at Polk County animal shelter. They had been turned in sick and unhealthy and covered with fleas This overcrowded shelter was unable to do anymore than house them and hope someone would adopt them. However, not many people are interested in sick, flea ridden kittens. Floyd Felines volunteered to pull them and get their immediate needs taken care of so that they could be fully vetted, socialized and eventually find a wonderful, loving home.

Story
I am a good girl and will follow you around like a puppy. I will let you pet me as long as I like you to, but I don't care to be picked up. Please give me a chance so that I can find a great home. I would love it if you would contact Floyd Felines and set up a chance to meet with me.Adoption Fee: $150Cut and Paste application: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1ct0QYvSBYVQvBXjU3oFPH7nMRnuzAob4K24LdDMRM8U/editSussex actually made the long trip to Georgia from a shelter in Delaware. We take many kittens to their area and for some reason, Sussex was just not getting the attention from adopters she needed there, which is very rare. So we agreed to bring her to our shelter and see how she does. Let's all give her a big Southern Welcome!!!

Story
Bagel had a difficult time getting well enough for us to get her spayed. We worked with her and she worked with us, we could tell she wanted to be well. This sweetheart fought and at long last we were able to get her fully vetted. She is more than ready to get out of a kennel and go to a house where she can stretch her kitty legs and eat from her own bowl and have her own person to give her pets and love. Want to give Bagel a chance to enjoy this life? All you need to do is set up a time to meet her and see if you and she could be each others housemates!!Adoption Fee: $150Cut and Paste application: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1ct0QYvSBYVQvBXjU3oFPH7nMRnuzAob4K24LdDMRM8U/editThese two sisters were turned in to Haralson County Animal Control. They were at an age that they were no longer cute kittens and no one expressed any interest in them, therefore they quickly were put on the euthanasia list. When we found out about them, we pulled the girls. They will be fully vetted, fed properly and will eventually find great, indoor homes where they won't have the fear of being put down just for lack of space every again.
